LAST MINUTE INFO/REMINDERS TO THOSE GOING TO HOBO 39

1. Please be at the venue between 11-11:30am for sign-ups and warm ups. I will start between 12-12:30 and i will not allow friendlies during that time unless we are ahead of scheduled. If i catch you doing friendlies i auto DQ you from all events you have entered. Dont like it? DEAL WITH IT!

2. I am running 4-5 events tomorrow. Regular 1vs1/2vs2, Mid+Low tier 2vs2 and P:M 1vs1 (if there is time ill do P:M 2vs2). If we are falling behind and may not make it out of the venue by midnight, i will cancel side events. If that little tid bit of info scares you, please read #3 (below).

3. Please bring a full set-up. Wii/ssbb/tv. If you absolutely cannot bring all 3 items, please at least bring a wii/ssbb. No matter how good of a TO i am (and trust me, im down right GODLY) i cannot make a 50 man event finish on time with 4 set-ups. Set-ups determine the speed of ANY event. If you bring more set-ups, we finish earlier and/or get ahead of schedule and ill allow friendlies.

4. Though not required, if anybody can bring $5 bills and $1 bills, you will be shot straight up to the front of the line when it comes to signing up/entering events. I will need change badly due to that one ASS HOLE who gives me a 100$ bill.

5. If you need a partner for any event, please talk to me. I can help you find others who are in the same boat.

6. If you get lost, are going to be late, leave for food during the event or simply wanna talk to me about how you still wet your bed at night, im just a short toll free call away at 409 692 0697.

Hello, I'm a new member in the Dallas area. I'm a senior in high school. I pretty much exclusively play melee (I like brawl, I just don't have a wii) where I "main" Ganondorf (kind of), but I've been playing lots of fox and marth too. I've been into competitive melee for 3 or so years, but have always been a pretty casual player. I've never been to a legit tourney anywhere but I'm hoping to change that this summer if there are any good ones in the area. Right now I'm working on improving my tech skill and my understanding of meta/mindgame. I sent a join request to the facebook group just now also.

Awesome, glad you're showing interest in the scene. As of now, the best tournaments for you will be bowsers revenge, which is melee/ProjectM. We're not as strong in brawl as we used to be, due to the interest in PM, but either way, its great to have you. Someone will add you to the FB page, and check this thread and the page often for information on smashfests, get togethers, and tourneys.

I came across 2 legitimate tickets to see Maroon 5/Neon Tree/Owl City concert on March 21, 2013 (it is a Thursday) in Dallas Tx at the American Airlines Center (7:30pm). Upper 318 Row L is where you will be sitting (the 2 tickets are for two seats right next to each other). I do not intend to go but i do want to sell them to someone who cares about these bands. Ill sell them below the ticket price ($150 each is the original price) so probably 100$ each and i will also include the receipt of original purchase as proof of its legitimacy. If you want to know more please message me. I will also be putting these on E-bay and Craigslist so act fast if u want them. I will overnight them if needed.

This is literally the only Wavebird I'd ever want



It's a Gundam controller(Bleh) but its the rarest official Nintendo wavebird, and second rarest official GCC. Only 1,000 made and it's worth like $300-$600

Would give you less money for it cause your signature isn't worth a lot.

Is pay a ton for a normal GCC if it was signed by, say, Miyamoto.

hopefully you guys will come through for the Round 2 event I'm hosting on 6th April. Would love to see some great Smash and Project M matches in a space that everyone has room to breathe in and we're not stepping on each other's toes :)

Ok MAJOR update


The Lone Star Circuit (LSC) has been cancelled. Denti/Sanji (batou) were the two TOs that were going to do the Dallas event (April) but both of them have failed to hold up their end of the bargain. Losing one (maybe two, july) events and one major city basically makes this circuit pointless. So, the LSC is now a "Road to WHOBO" or "Path to WHOBO" or "HighWay to WHOBO" or whatever you wanna call it.

The schedule for the Road to WHOBO will be slightly altered and the championships (now known as WHOBO 5) will be much different.


Changes to the schedule:

April- Who's Tyler?
May- HOBO 40
June- NikeFest 55
July- Revolution 14 (if they get their act together in the next 2.5 months)
August- HOBO 41
September- no events. save money. get caught up in school.
October- WHOBO 5

Changes to the championships/whobo 5:

Last years LSC championships, we had pro bracket/AM bracket but since this is now a WHOBO, im doing away with that crap. The LSC points you get at each event will stop (luckily we only gave out point at ONE event so far) as well.

WHOBO 5 events/times/dates/prices and thread will be made within a week.

TOs (Mr.GW [april] Nike [june] and i hope Denit [july?]) who are running events for the Road to WHOBO series, PLEASE MAKE YOUR THREADS ASAP. When people wait, bad things happen.
