The gamecube controller is awkwardly designed and Nintendo showed it learned nothing from how stupid the N64 controller felt. The classic controller is already more comfortable and GC is only better atm because its WIRED. Using a GC in place of a Classic this way is worthless because Classic and Wii U Classic (the little xbox controller) are superior. A GC plugged into a wiimote will still have wireless interference and a few frames of lag. Ask any wiimote user atm and you will know how much it sucks.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAveK4fUFuk
I suddenly have smash 4 hype (And also my prediction that this was going to be made was correct)
The location of the analog sticks are less ideal than Ps3 imo (although its basically the same as Xbox). The face buttons on the right side look like a child's toy. I love the colors, but having that one huge button taking up most of the space with 3 smaller buttons pushed off to the sides looks stylish, but its not good for fast gameplay. Its ironic because they had the 4 button diamond layout everyone uses now back on SNES and for some reason they changed it out for their first 3d consoles. That huge A button in the way just makes it harder to slide your finger from button to button. If you need to press B then Y/X you need to lift your thumb over A or move it around A. On Ps3 or Xbox you can go from any button to any button with a quick and precise slide. This type of problem is less noticed by smashers because we can use custom controls to solve this issue, but most games don't do that. The GC controller was not awkwardly designed. It was made to fit the hand i.e. button layout and controller frame. Unless you meant in another way.
Didn't say that. For Smash it is perfectly fine, but for traditional fighters such as Capcom vs SNK 2 EO, it is trash because of the lag.Okay, GC controller is now bad.
Everyone should play wiimote+nunchuck
I completely agree with this paragraph. Tesh had some great points to though. You could always buy a white controller those wires are like 9 feet long.
Naturally I prefer the orientation of the analog sticks for play station as well, For smash though having your left thumb up more seems to help character control, in my opinion anyway. Also the natural feel of the 8 way orientation of the gcn's analog stick in comparison the ps3 is more precise. I don't believe the orientation of the gcn controller's buttons hinder it as it still feels natural to hold. Going from the x or y button to b is a layout hindrance but melee falco mains seem to cope ok. The shoulder buttons are also superior to most other controllers I've held, except the placement/size of that z button >:[ and lord knows Nintendo isn't giving up their z button lol.
also xbox controllers are **** for fighting games.
From what I know, I'm going to be with denti and so are a ton of other people.
Try actually PMing people about tyler cosmic, this place has been a bit dead lately.
Imo the GC controller has just been just fine for smash, even for Soul Calibur II.The location of the analog sticks are less ideal than Ps3 imo (although its basically the same as Xbox). Imo, I think today's gamers can handle a 6 button layout, like the genesis had. The buttons just need to be smaller. There just isn't a need for it yet I suppose. Not with 4 triggers, 2 sticks (that also function as buttons), 1 directional pad, mics, motion and touch.
Yes. For real this time. Last time I stayed up too late and overslept. Not gonna let that happen again.ALSM, are you going to whos tyler?
