counter argument time!
-i can go out of state anytime i want, i'm not bounded by folks or money
+Yes, however No Koast is once a year. I am pretty sure there is a party every week(easily)
-go on a drug trip with friends, which are female leads to "deeper" connecions
+Good point, nothing is deeper than sticking your ***** in a hole. Unless you are talking about getting to know them as people or learn more about their life, I don't see how it is a deeper connection. I won't even touch the subject of the drug trip.
-meet with old people, maybe some math main will teach me stufs about topolgy for my exam on wednesday
+That is possibly the only good counter argument you offered. Education is very important and should always come before hobbies.
-its bleedin kansas.
+Great rebuttal. I shall accept my defeat now.
This seems fun! My responses are in the quote. Also in seriousness. If I had the means to go out of state atm. I would go with them. Just want you to realize how lucky you are.

seriously, you have no argument, sex vs video games. c'mon, arent you like 22? souldnt you be getting laid everynight? if ur telling me ur a virgin please stop giving me advise from now on. cause really, i could turn into a videogame pro and spend my time and money going to play people out of state, or i could become a pro maybe at a bank, going to bars everyday getting laid. seriously i think if i go to no koast i will turn into... well... you. and i rather turn into, well... me.
if i go to no koast, i might start thinking that sticking my **** into a hole is less important than playing brawl. god that's just... wrong.

dylan, if it really is important to you, that for some reason i go, i'll give it more thought.

@Admiral tsizzinc III: It's Kansas, dude. If you want the full experience of going to a new place, and not just staying cooped up in a smelly venue getting wailed upon by other out of staters the entire time you're there (hey, you said it yourself), just wait for a tourney in a decent place to show up.

Utah would be eh, New Mexico would be either really hot or really ****ing hot, and Arizona is just New Mexico but with better players (diss!). Wait for a big SoCal tourney. Or better yet, Vegas.

Although this is a good opportunity to go OoS, it isn't the only one that'll ever arise.

alright bees, i realized something. i want to make it clear that i did not make such statements because i was offended by something you said and want to offend you back. i respect ur views because i had similar views a while back. its just that ur statement scared me and i panicked. that stage of my life was pretty miserable and not many people are strong enough to pull it off.

oh ppl pls take into account that i suck at this game!

I hear LoL sucks compared to dota =(

it doesn't suck. HoN does though, because it originally WAS DotA, then it tried to be its own game. So basically instead of DotA 2.0 it became DotA 0.5.

LoL is different enough that you can at least play it somewhat differently, along with different game mechanics, heroes, and items. I play LoL now cause everyone I know who I used to play DotA with switched to either it or HoN which I don't get, considering I still like DotA probably the best but LoL is a lot of fun as well and it's free.

LoL is very much caster based though, unlike DotA where support casters/gankers get less and less useful late game due to BKB, casters just blow through everyone early game, and they just get unstoppable late game cause there is no BKB, only a linkens which doesn't really help since you'd have to spend so much money just to stop 1 nuke.

And team composition is not as important, you NEED a tank that can initiate, aside from that you can have like 4 casters, 4 carries, w/e it's just that casters are extremely strong in LoL.

Ferdi edit: Oh and you don't lose gold when you die and if you get killed by a person higher leveled than you the exp that person gets is significantly reduced, so it's a little more forgiving towards new players.

but just like every MOBA game, if you have a feeder, you're ****ed.

I guess its what you put your importance in. Also I guess you have no argument either resorting to the ad hominem. Sex vs Video Games=personal preference. To say that your desire to have sex is more justified than my taking enjoyment out of hanging with my friends and playing video games is just arrogant. And to lump your desires as a norm and push them on me when I am simply giving you an input that maybe you haven't thought of is just amazing. What I do every night is none of your concern. If you think that I have problems just because I don't buy into the "American Pie Movie" ideology you are holding, then you are a close-minded individual. Also its insulting to:
1. Imply that there is something wrong with me because I don't go to bars and meet strange women
2. Have the arrogance to imply that going there would make you like me. Which also means anyone else going there would be like me. I guess everyone who goes to No Koast will end up like me (A 22 year old who isn't getting laid every night)<-That is what you meant right?
I must say, the only people I have met in my life who would judge people off of such ideas were the dip**** jocks and trendy wannabe fratboy ****tards in high school.
You really want to come across like one of those people?
Also its funny that you think going to an oos tourney will make you me(lol) or somehow make you like me(again lol)

edit: your next post is a bit better however, I am still hurt that you would make my meaning in life any less significant than anyone else. Read your post again and see if you would like someone telling you what you told me.

drop this if u have any sense because take a long hard look at what ur doing. you knew what i meant from the beginning. stop taking me this literally dude. really reflect on this. think about our different situations. do you really want to argue with me? think hard... about ur situation... now my situation... there! solved. i understand where ur coming from, do u understand where i'm coming from? all it is now is that you seem to be the fox that that thinks the grapes are sour.

Sex is overrated~

My buddy tried to get me to play HoN originally. Cool, whatever, I've never played DotA, so I might as well give this game a try and see if I like it.

It's ******** amounts of hard to get into. There's no Tutorial, people are complete *******s and jerks, even the site says that you're pretty much boned if you don't know how to play DotA already. Honestly, because of that game, I almost completely rejected LoL, fearing the same horrible experience (Sorry Tonyyyyyy! )

LoL was a godsend for me, by comparison. Teaches you how to play, it's easier to pick up it feels, people are actually pretty nice and you can find people your skill level because NEW PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY LEARN HOW TO PLAY. HoN is really shooting themselves in the foot just because they're too elitist to put in a tutorial. That is hella redic.

My nephew tried to go back to HoN with his couple-months-old LoL skills. He was still extremely confused and put off by the difficulty. He got the same treatment I did when asking questions ("shut up ******, ur not a noob") and when he finally found, what seemed like, a n00b-friendly game (as per title of the room,) no one could explain jack to him because either they barely spoke English or they spent all their time chastising him for feeding the other team, eventually leading him to Rage Quit (and it takes a LOT for either us to quit in the middle of ANY game. I'm sure I woulda done the same.) Furthermore, their team was getting extremely owned and boned. That supposed % balance thing was even before the game countdown started, then right when the game started, someone switched it up making it a 83:17 % matchup. D:!

LoL is far more accessible, friendly, etc. etc. I consider it the superior game by far. I'm sure at high level play, DotA/HoN is probably hella excellent (we've watched some vids,) but I can't even get started what-so-ever. There's no difficulty curve, just a difficult wall.

Brawl is overrated~

omg

So much Peach boards and Colorado thread drama.

One quick thing I wanna say is that we need to lose this definition of Brawl as just the "videogame." It's really a lot more than what's on that Wii disc - at least to me. Whenever I'm telling my other friends I'm gonna go play Brawl, or when I went to Genesis, I'd get these reactions:

"You're going all the way to California for a videogame? LOL."

or

"You're ditching me to go play a videogame? Loser."

It's a geeky medium, but it's really the people and stuff around the game that really allows me to come back. I'm really only competitive because of Tim. Because of BEES. Because of all my friends on the Peach boards. It's the trips to Chipotle. It's the roadtrips. It's the aim conversations. **** Brawl. I love the Smash scene and everyone in it.

That's why I'm going to No Koast.

So TC, while I won't judge you on whatever you decide to do, I hope you at least see that your missing out on something more than "playing Brawl in Kansas." And for whatever it's worth, I would prefer you come along with us. :)

Pretty much what I was trying to say from the beginning until I got attacked. I don't know why I even bothered though. I don't think I have had someone be this hurtful in a long time. Ah well. But thanks Meno for bringing clarity to this situation.

There are so many things that make it the superior choice. It's an opportunity to expand on relationships, travel outside of Colorado to meet new people and see new places.

Also what is mentioned is guaranteed.
-Go out of state
-on a road trip with friends(grow deeper connections)
-meet new people(maybe a falco main that can teach you stuffs)
-See sights and expand past your own town or state.
That was my first post. All pretty much showing the things besides the video game that could be a fun part of the experience. The part I left out was meant to be lulzy and jocular.

Also how dare you try and pass any judgement on me. You know little to nothing about me.
And try and say its the truth on top of that.

Seriously leave me the **** alone. You have caused enough trouble.

In order to make a counter argument you have have an argument to begin with. Also if I knew what you were trying to say(which I still don't) then why am I mad?
Most of my rebuttal to you was meant to be a joke. Apparently you got hung up on a few things that must have really offended you.

But that's fine. You wanna be a jerk about something over the internet by trying to reach past the realm of the internet and say things about my life when you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

Seriously I don't know what your problem is but you need to stop this.

The most ironic thing I've ever read.

Everything you said was completely uncalled for, tsizzinc. Remind me to beat the daylights out of you next time I see you. All I need is 5 minutes alone with you to teach you a lesson about respect.

That's not coming from someone who "thinks they are intelligent and uses uncommon terms to appear different", it's coming from someone who could literally make you wish you were never alive. If there's anything I can't stand, it's the stereotypical scumbag that riles other people up for their own means, and plays the "I'm a better person than you" card. It happens all too often.

That's pathetic. I'm 15 and apparently still learning about the world, and I have more tact and respect for other people than you. In layman's terms, kindly screw off.

I'm serious, you want to test my patience, especially after that last post you made? I'm sure Dmitriy will get a kick out of hearing that you got all your teeth knocked out by a 15 year old from Montana.
