I may be moving to Colorado if my dad gets a job there (I'd have to transfer colleges), so just doing some early "research" on smashing spots.

Possible locations are: Westminster (Denver), Colorado Springs, and Durango. Also, is there any sized scene at CU?

Westminster/Denver is the best for Melee. NorCO has the most active Brawl scene (I think). Colorado Springs has a few decent Brawl players, and an okay Melee player. Durango is bad at everything, except for having cool facial hair and backing out of MMs while trying to physically intimidate me. Even then, only one of them had cool facial hair.

If you get a chance, push for Westminster/Denver. You and your dad will both appreciate it a lot more than stupid springs or desolate durango. Srsly.

And Tony pretty much summed everything up, BlueBlade. CU (and subsequently Boulder) doesn't have too many players, but a 20 minute drive and you'll be in the general area where 90% of our tournies / fests / players are.

Actually, my dad loves it out there. We've been to Colorado 5 times now and have gone to the mountains every time. I'm actually starting to like it. We've been to Durango before during a circle tour of the state. I can agree though, it was none to exciting, but I enjoy the scenery and such. But that would be bad for smashing, way to far from... seems like ANYTHING. I think he's hooked up with a few places throughout Denver, not just Westminster. I think Golden and Aurora were a few other places. Been through Denver a few times, gone to a couple Rockies games and such.

When we say NorCo, we mostly mean Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley. And I guess Longmont could be considered NorCo also. Basically anything physically north of Boulder.

There's actually a few smashers that live in Golden, and most of the Melee guys are from Aurora iirc.

Hi! If you move to Colorado that would be good. I mean it is a melee state. But with a little dedication it could be a brawl & melee state! If you move here be sure to come down to the Springs on Friday nights we hold a get together at a local McDonalds. I haven't been playing smash competitively very long (I've only even owned the game since christmas.) But I do fairly well for my lack of experience. I might give you a good match who knows? Anyways Hope you figure it out.

CSU is supposed to have a REALLY good Japanese program. If you're looking to study abroad and are super rich/poor, DU has some ******** options with Cherrington Global Scholars. CU is a stupid school that's only good for getting high, thinking you're cool, or majoring in Music.
