As for foreign films I really enjoyed:

The Orphanage
The Lives of Others

For war films:
Apocalypse Now

For a good biopic:
The Aviator (Scorcese)

Crime Dramas (Since apparently you don't like the Dark Knight):
Goodfellas (Favorite all around)
Heat
Fargo
Seven
Miller's Crossing

Sports Films:
The Wrester (Amazing, thought not really about the sport of wrestling)

Comedies:
The Big Lebowski
Burn After Reading
Team America
Knocked up/40 year old virgin/Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I could go on but I don't think you'd make much use of a bigger list. I'm sure categories will do you fine, Kira.

when i was a child i woke up in the middle of the night and came out into the living room to find my dad watching a movie. i asked him "daddy what are you watching" and he told me Predator, and then described the plot of the movie to me over the roar of the guns. then i saw the black guy get ***** and i closed my eyes and ran back to my room and didnt sleep for a long long time
Think of the positives at least it wasn't porn.

anyting with james cagney is AMAZING
i suggest any of his films, especially the public enemy

a good perverse movie is the dreamers, very good indie flick.

a lot of the older movies (depression era) are some of the best films made, i suggest watching anything from that time period.

thats what i've heard from most people
my brother and i are really big fans of the comic, he saw it and hated it. the story of watchmen is way too long and complex to really frame in a 2 hour movie. apparently the DVD version will be over 4 hours and will include an animated version of the black freighter pirate story (the comic that kid was reading during watchmen that runs along side the main story) narrated by leonidas from 300 LOL should be tight

watchmen did a pretty good job of covering most of the comic
the ending made me mad though >:o

i dont know if i want to go see it or not
It's basically just a reconstruction of the comic with a slightly altered ending and shortened up a lot. And even then the different ending ends up producing the same results and gets the same themes across and what not.

just read the comic. If you've already read it, then read it again
