its funny cause i think that there are actually very few characters that have this much representation, and if there are, than thats even better cause we have just as many people playing the character, yet sonic is almost to the equivalent to high tier in this list

there are. the only ones who bring this out are the midtiers though. because they like to brag about anything.

wow way to generalize that california's competitve smash comes from socal entirely. Ever heard of norcal? DBR made the best combo videos smash has ever seen, isai is widely considered the best ssb64 smasher and top 10 in melee, and meep is the best snake main in cali (he beat ajax at bio the only other snake who is ranked high in california). So socal=/=california entierly. norcal has some of the best smash the US has displayed.

Also you must realize that the california is the biggest chunk of the west coast smashers, which rivals the skill in the east coast, so california must always be in higher regard since it has so many high level smashers with so many tourneys happeing every weekend.

And have you ever heard of NoR4u? best sonic on the west coast places notably high at local and reigionals on the west coast.

Socal is melee and brawl, regardless a lot of people play the better game(melee), but DSF TKD(MK), teba(D3), shadow rob(rob), mikehaze(marth) all are considered the best if not one of the best smashes with their respective character.

I dont know what the boy tells you but that he's never stepped outside his region to vs anyone else in Australia except over wifi. There's been more than enough national tournaments that he's not been to for him to have no right to say he's best player in Australia.

This is a perfect example of why to look at every thing in smashboards with a grain of salt, people who made that state that that guy was the best in austrailia was not because of local and regional tourney placement, but rather the fact someone was hypeing the guy and made the statement that he was the best, same thing has happened to MK on these boards. regardless it is good you note that invalid state posted earlier before with true evidence by means of tournament placement

It's not like I was offended, but people shouldn't get the wrong idea. The guy is definitely good, definitely best in South Australia (a state). But there are more than just him that gets first placement in every single regular tournament. But those players use top tiers so eh.

Regardless, if the guys is the best in an entire region of a country, I must admit he must display some skill in order to rise as a dominant smasher is his local community. But still my message was that many things are tossed around these boards that are truly exaggerated statements.

It's not based on the numbers of placings.

It's based on a formula which involves how many people were actually at the tourney, and what the entry fee was.

Edit : For example say DK gets 1 top 8 in a tourney of 40 entrants where the entry fee was $10. Now, Olimar gets 2 top 8's in a tourney with 16 entrants where the entry fee was $5.
The DK will have more points then the Olimar.

sorry if i offended you but i think you took my comment way out of hand. the part about socal playing melee and the part about sonics not being in california were not related I was just saying that west coast as a whole seems somewhat quiet, (not silent, just quiet) on the brawl scene

Generally, every tourney he enters in - He wins 80-90% of the time.

Erow gets his **** whooped by Meep, I'm not going to lie.

Considering the amount of wins he has and the consistency of his placings, he is by and far the best Snake in California.

Snake dittos don't mean anything you nub LoL, and NorCal gets ***** by SoCal, soooo? NorCal hasn't won a single singles/doubles tourney that any SoCal players have attended, point proven LoL. Its like, Meep and Erow both beat me...but do they beat ShadowROB, LeePuff, BoA, Michael Hay (theres one for ur cheering section NorCal), ChuDat, Bardull, etc? Nope, didnt think so. My point is Snake dittos don't decide who the better Snake main is LoL, if that were true, DSF-Ajax Snake VS Meep-Erow Snake....? Kinda pointless isnt it?

I'm bringing up the amount of tourney wins Meep has. This is a fact that he has a much higher amount of wins than almost any other Snake aside from DSF when he still mained him.

You are right about SoCal defeating NorCal at all the tourneys. But as I recall, Erow was the highest placing Snake at SCSA. He was also the second highest placing Snake at Race's along with you. Meep also placed as the highest Snake when he went down there for a Palmdale Bi-Weekly.


I'm not trying to take away from you, as I know you are a really good WC Snake, but it is of my belief that Meep has the best Snake - based from the amount of tourney wins and rate of dominance he has in his region.

Not that any of this really matters. In the end, it's just e-**** fighting with opinions.

I love SoCal anyway. I was literally at only one NorCal tourney this entire month.
