4. Hax is one of the most overrated players in the world. He has a unique style and is probably the best CF main but he is far from as good as ppl think he is. He doesnt fkn perform for a reason. You don't get unlucky when you're that good, they get unlucky. And just compare AR's bracket at the big nationals to Hax's.

The thing with Hax is that his peak is ridiculous. Obviously I haven't seen Armada's peak, or Hbox's peak for example, but from what I've seen and experienced, his peak is very, very top class, moreso than other potentials. Yes he may not consistently bring the results to match this, but I think the Hax fanboys are just waiting for him to really bring it out. I don't think that Falcon necessarily holds him back, I honestly don't see what other character would be a better catalyst for him. I think Falcon's overall stable and bursty style compliments him perfectly. I don't think he's necessarily the second best player potential wise either, but he's definitely up there and worth the lookout.

I really like your style by the way. Love the way you dismantled sfat in pools, didn't see the bracket, but I definitely learned a lot from watching you play. You remind me of me when I'm confident / have hard reads on people, except all the time.

I think Marth will make a comeback metagame wise sometime in the near future. I think spacies and a lot of other characters have been stagnant / lazy for too long, and you guys really want to prove yourselves so...

I disagree about Marth coming back. You do realize the on-point you have to be with Marth has to be godly since he has a lot of big laggy moves that can be countered if he's not careful, he does have weaknesses and he has tough matchups so it can be an uphill battle at times.

I think Falcon has held Hax back in the sense that overcoming lots of tough matchups consistently requires extra godliness and being just like a top 25 player isn't enough for that. But as he starts to ascend to that level where matchups really really don't matter, like Armada clearly has, Falcon will become a strength and not a liability for him. I'm not saying he's there yet but he has days where you can see the potential is there. Other than that I agree with zhu.

Well if anyone can do it he can. He's turned Falcon Sheik from a 1:99 matchup to... something that looks like Falcon's favor. Falco on the other hand is harder for him. I think Falco is more of a style counter than a character counter, but I'm sure he'll find a way.

I think people exaggerate character weaknesses, limitations, and whatever. For the same reason that Kage could never do better with Fox than he has with Ganon, I'm not sure I buy into the "Falcon has held Hax back". I remember reading a tier list article a lil' while ago that Taj has been posting around and I agree with it (and have felt this way for a while). Just because Fox or Puff (and co.) are good does not necessarily mean your own talents as a player will mesh well with the skillsets they encourage.

In short, I agree with Zhu.

I don't have much else to add because Weon-X is getting a lot better and I.B. is trying to get back into shape and they both have really good Marths... and Taj just got 3rd at a national. And other stuff. I dunno. Marth has a lot of potential for random wins with gimps, death combos, and other nonsense. He probably holds position when he gets advantage as well as Peach does, and she's crazy good at it. I don't think he's high tier.

Thing about playstyle is that isn't a playstyle largely developed through playing your main character for years? I mean, obviously after playing Ganon for years Kage isn't going to pick up Fox that easily. I wouldn't say Hax was "destined" to play Falcon or anything, he just played him a lot and if he had started out as playing a better character way way back yea I think his results would be better. I guess it depends how much consider playstyle something intrinsic and constant to the individual and how much you consider it a product of playing a certain character exclusively and interpreting the entire game through that character for years.

I just think ppl need to quit fooling themselves. Falcon playing great shows it 10x more than a Sheik playing great. That is just how Falcon is, I mean, I dont think anyone from the states has noted how off Armada is during some sets etc. That isnt just bias, it simply doesnt show when you use Peach.

I'd like to see a video of Hax at his "full potential". Chances are, that he is looking like he is ****** much harder than he actually is. People talk about him showing it vs Amsah. Really? Amsah is known to suck at the matchup and it was 2 1stocks. Not to discredit this but a lot of people can actually beat Amsah (Adam/Over/Zgetto have recently taken entire sets from him for example). What makes his wins so much better even though its relatively even? What makes his losses excusable? Oh that's right, he plays Falcon (imo he plays rly gay, he never approaches and camps but from time to time its fun to watch a perfect falcon...).
And before someone says smth about doubles just look at Aniolas )

Oh and my set vs SFAT in brackets was really ****ing ****ty. I was sitting and playing LF in P:M and then ppl start screaming at me that I was gonna get DQ'd in a minute lol. I then proceeded to sit down, plug in my controller, SD 3 times at sub 20% first game and then just got dominated the second game, I couldnt get anything going <_>. No johns though, SFAT is a great guy and an awesome player and he definitely deserved the win.

Wow it has been a long time since I read such a ****ty post. Matchups ALWAYS matter.
Just look at Genesis 2; Armada is honestly, clearly the better player between Hungrybox and him yet he wouldnt take a game in Peach vs Jigglypuff because its a extremely hard matchup.

No wait, what am I saying! Matchups don't matter! Nevermind, I guess Armada went Young Link vs Hungrybox because its actually better than his Peach. Yup, that is clearly it.

Match ups wouldnt matter in a perfect world but the world is sadly far, far from perfect. The fact that Armada can win vs the second best player in the world (Mango) in a extremely hard match up doesnt change **** btw.

Because...dart has placed well at nationals? And... I've only ever been to one national so I'd gladly take you up on that if I could? I mean, I'm easily good enough to make the statement I did, but I don't see why my skill matters in calling out someone who always *****es about the people he loses to or didn't get a chance to play. Dart has not only insulted every player he lost to, but then even some he didn't lose to; that is absolutely ridiculous and I don't see how you can respect that at all.

Beating lucky... yeah, the same lucky that lost to atma and kage? No offense to lucky, but that's not the same lucky that we normally consider impressive to beat. The lucky we consider impressive to beat is the one that sent amsah to losers at pound 4, not the one that gets 3 stocked by ganons.

Beating tang? I might be impressed if it was in a dance off, not so much for smash bros.
