Halo is very competitive, but I don't play it because I'm sick of the little 4 year olds playing who think they are so great because they get 1 head shot. Plus, most of them talk trash...

EDIT: I'm not saying I don't HATE halo. I used to like it very much. Also, with COD, there are those few who talk trash, too.

In any case, push a few buttons and you'll get hate messages from either game lol.

I love a gun with amazing irons, it frees up an attachment spot and removes the need for Bling. I can generally use any gun's iron sights, but some, such as the Scar's are too good. That, and the Scar looks so amazing anyways, since most of it gets the camo I put on it, makes it my favorite gun.

I don't see how a gun being burst removes reload times as a factor in how good it is. Doesn't make sense to me, you still run out of ammo and you still have to reload. :dizzy:

I disagree. Honestly, I'm confident I could use any AR (Minus the F2k. That's why I said that in the first place.) and be able to consistently get good K/Ds, and that has very little to do with which AR I'm using. It's mostly about my play style.

On the flip side, I do agree that in a competitive setting, choosing which AR you use is indeed a big factor. But I'm not into competitive CoD honestly. The Halo series has always out-shined CoD in that category.

It's a random matchmaking system, your first point is invalid. There are still parties out there with far more skilled players than you give them credit for. Try more Domination, Demolition, Search and Destroy, or Hardcore S&D/HQ.

It has a hell of a lot to do with what AR you're using. The fact of the matter is, it is not difficult to do well with an assault rifle. Because of the high power high fire rate low recoil they provide, you can get some pretty quick kills, acquire your killstreaks, and let them do the work. It's a lot easier to get pressure the team with air support. They're just crutches that don't accurately represent just how good a player is and leads me to believe that pub matches do not show the full potential of a player.

While I respectfully disagree, I still think the competitive CoD you're talking about is just MLG/GB. A better substitute that does allow for competitive play and team work is Pro Mod.

EDIT: CoD4 is similar to Halo is that it has 2-3 weapons being used. Halo just has low weapon selection and the M16/MP5 outclassed all. Instead of watching bad matches, try finding the good ones.

YO I'M BAD AT THIS GAME.

In all seriousness I'm pretty horrible. I picked up this game like 2 weeks ago, and it was the first FPS I've ever owned. My KD is like...bad lol. I do want to improve though, so are there any quick tips I should know?

I'm rank like 26, no prestiges, and mainly use a Scar or Intervention. I've messed around with an UMP as well. I think I've only really played Team Deathmatch and Demolition, S&D like once, and I have no clue what my secondary weapons should be.

Personally, I stopped liking Halo after 3. The map designs kinda killed it. Not only that, but the whole community kinda annoys me.

In other news, the TAR is a fun gun to use. I went 12-4 with it after joining in the last 3-5 minutes of a TD game.

Fixed. Tar is good silenced, just still outclassed by the Scar.

i went 24-0 for the first 5 mins. than someguy killed me :p

too bad i didnt have my nuke setup on, its not like ive gotten 1 ive just unlocked the nuke lol

TAR is amazing silenced, and I can use it without having to use extended mags, which is my usual route with the scar.

EDIT: IW sent very, very brief videos (literally 15 seconds lol, the machinima crap takes up more time then the preview itself) of the new DLC to Machinima.

It was kinda easy pickings for Snipers on Overgrown. I'm excited for that too, but the amount of camping (not from Snipers) I had to deal with on that map was hell.

I was never able to camp the rooftop very well. I was very good at holding down the blue room by myself though. I could usually get around a 10 kill streak in there before the amount of frags, stuns, flashes, and lack of ammo finally got me.

Not me. Don't feel like wasting $15 on a map pack which is already on the game disc and only contains 3 new maps.
