I used to be a big fan of odyssey back in the day; not so much exodus.

EDIT: Hang on O__________O Q?! *dies* X_X

You gotta come to this man. Haven't seen you in well over a year now T_T

I've held on to this bit of info for a while, it won't mean much to a lot of people but it may be something to someone.

ANy of you who came last year may have noticed a large stone building across the roads all boarded up and derelict. Well over the last six months+ a lot of time, money, effort and building junk has gone into it to get it shipshape. Or rather bar shaped. So there you go, aside from everything else right next to the housing, we have a Free House pub across the road from housing. Enjoy. It's due to open this friday.

Also: A note to anyone outside of STFU who's bringing TV's, priority if possible is to go on SIZE! STFU and The venue is being generous is providing all they can if you can bring a large TV please do so even if at the expense of 2 portables. That aside, please everyone bring what you can to make this tourney sweet as anything. All setups appreciated, Cubes, copies of the game anything is wanted and appreciated.

Bullet? Abbandoned you? Shame... if I knew you wanted to team with him I would have suggested it to him before I said yes to doubles, but alas, I'd prefer to play with Bullet though, he's more around my level than anyone else going to there, I don't want to hold people back. XD

Also: 20 days!

Yeah, doubles partner also needed here. Peach main.

I'd also like to ask everyone bringing a TV to this event to make sure it works in full colour at 60hz! If it doesn't fulfil either requirement it will not be able to be used in the tournament and would be a wasted effort.

With 37 entrants last year and more expected this year, I feel that a 16 man bracket does not do justice, thus if the turnout this year goes over 40 I will be expanding the bracket to accomodate 24 players!

With a larger bracket comes more complications: Instead of expanding the number of pools to twelve and seeds to 24, I'll stick with 8 pools. The top 3 from each pools would advance into a double elimination bracket.

The top finishers in each pool would get a Bye in round 1 of the tournament. Round 1 of the Losers Bracket would be a Bye round. A bye round is a round where everyone advances, because everyone is matched against a bye.

In a 24 man bracket, the lowest placing you can get is 17th. However, this will only go into effect if the total number of participants in the tournament exceeds 40. So get all your friends involved =D

BB- i must say that it sounds very awesome. mainly because it lets more people through pools go give a wider range of the good players in the UK. and for people like me whose current aim is to simply pass pools and work my way up all i have to do is win my first bracket round and ill be in the same posistion i would have been if i had passed pools so  my only issue is with the amount of people in crews lie SDB and the mafia, is it possible that they wont be meeting eachother early in the brackets or can we expect ,matches like zeppo vs anon or stevie vs kone?

The brackets will be sorted by seeds, the top seeds will get a bye in their first round, everyone going into the losers bracket will get a bye in the first round of the losers bracket. If people in crews meet up, tough luck. It's inevitable they will eventually meet in the bracket.

NOTE: The Skeleton pools will be posted in this thread on August 4th.

This new system is pointless = S

It might work if there were like 80 people but their won't be. Much like adding more seeds i feel we are all trying to put too many innovations into a system that just isn't suited to our small community.

There is no need for more people to get through and no point in everyone facing a bye. Also, a bye in winners bracket is worth far more than one in the losers. It is a massively unfair advantage.

Ryan: The seeds for peopole getting a bye in Round one are not the same seeds as for the pools. The term seeds is misused there and I apologise. Everyone that passes top of their pool will pass through round 1 of brackets automatically. So it could be that a high seed or an unseeded player could pass pools.

Technically, the round 1 bye is before the brackets are split into winners and losers. it seems unfair but I can't think of a fairer way to do it. What it means is if you pass 2nd or 3rd in your pool and win your first round in the brackets, you'll play one more game than everyone else.

If you would like to discuss this further, please do so.
