Brawl will be the biggest turn out for this event. Saturday will be more fitting. Less johns from everyone if it were to be on Saturday.

I'm with Stingers, Jon? and Killer, I don't mind Brawl being on Saturday. If turnout is boosted that much, I think it's worth it. I mean, if you're not looking to expand the purview of this series just yet, I can dig that, too. God knows an extra 15-20 people on top of the average of nearly 40 would probably violate the fire code twice over in the apartment, but if Billfests are to get much bigger, this is a good opportunity.

i'd much rather have it on a saturday, it means i could exchange days with somebody and make it to brawl instead of just taking the day off (and i'm not even sure if they'll let me)

brawl will get the highest turnout @.@ you shouldn't cater to melee

realistically you can't say that melee will have a higher OoS turnout then brawl :/ the odds are slim

Actually, people travel more for melee than they do for brawl, usually.

Anyways, we're catering to the games the hosts like. Brawl is neither Bill nor my favorite game. Bill like B+ the most and I like Melee the most.

@ Stongers: You're catering to Brawl lol.

I'm sure people would go for Melee if we talked to them about it, but I just haven't felt an urge to because hyped Billfests are still odd to me. That, and I want an easier time doing PRs lol.

Edit: host your own tourney stongers.

i dont remember who mentioned it earlier but melee is more elitist...
no matter which day melee is on, the attendance will be similar in number
i think the brawl attendance will fluctuate one way or the other greatly depending on the day

Not everyone can make it to a Sunday Melee tournament that could make it to a Saturday one either.

The only reason Brawl numbers change more is proportionally more people play Brawl, so more would miss on Sunday, but both games would be hurt by having something on Sunday.

@karn: when was the last time a billfest had more melee entrants then brawl? i don't think there ever has been...but there might be, so i'm asking

@pp: i am catering to brawl...i like it the most and it'll attract the most oos and the largest pot and the biggest turnout. it has its own day and like it or not it is the "main event". the main event being the thing most ppl will actually sign up for

@fiz: good point...really...SNES had Melee today (on a sunday) and it still got mango to come...and he's from the other side of the country

No it's never had more entrants. But why does number of entrants determine if an event is more important.

The tournament hosts are catering to the events they like the most, being melee and brawl+.

Think about how many oos came to HERB2 for melee and then compare it to brawl. Way more people traveled for melee.

SNES is a national tournament. Billfest is not. If you really need me to explain why that's important I will.

Shoving Melee to Sunday just screws Melee players over because they already have lower numbers. Brawl players won't enter, and then Melee players that aren't super confident won't enter even if they could.

of course HERB2 had more melee entrants LOL...no lie that was like...a melee tourney with a brawl side event. i mean come on MANGO AND M2K WILL BE HERE! advertised right in the title...no mention of Meep or Hrnut or any brawl people...not to mention brawl was SUNDAY!! which you know...OoS can't come for.

i'm surprised people are actually arguing this...i mean bill and karn are the tourney hosts so do whatever but logically brawl should be on the day that will attract the most OoS because, duh, it's the bigger event. but this is NC and brawl always gets the short end of the stick (good **** omni for running brawl/b+ tourneys to try and reverse that). i mean any BIG tourney is always Melee Sat. Brawl Sunday, and we all know which day can get more OoS...good thing most local tournies have Melee/Brawl which is even on both sides (though Brawl is always last so it runs until 3 AM...but you know whatever, I can deal with that)...

foxy's don't have any brawl at all (I <3 brawl+ but...i consider b+ and vBrawl separate games). and like i said earlier good **** omni for running brawl/brawl+ tournies...even if Brawl is once again the latter event and doesn't finish...but you know, whatever.

Yeah because M2K+Brawl doesn't bring in anyone at all.

The only reason I'm arguing is because I don't like reading posts talking about TOs running tournaments wrongly. They can do what they want. If you don't like it, run your own stuff like Omni/Foxy did.
