Offensive: Metaknight - For obvious reasons! I don't really need to mention his lagless attacks, numerous unpunishable approaches, and other cheesy tactics. (But I did anyway.)

Defensive: Snake - Lots of shield and nade tricksies.

Campy: Snake

Combos: Sheik baby. YAYUHZZZZ

Range: Umm... there are many ways for characters to utilize their range, but I'm going to say Olimar since his grab range is too good lol.

Overall: Metaknight. He's #1 for a reason

Offensive: MK, hands down.

Defensive: Marth

Campy: Olimar, Snake, D3,

Combos: Shiek, Diddy, maybe Lucario

Range: Ike, D3 (Ftilt and grab)

Overall: MK, hands down.

EDIT:
For combos, Lucario and Sheik. Diddy NEEDS naners, which can be used against him.

Camping: ROB
Shiek NEEDS to get an ftilt off, which can be used against her. Lucario NEEDS Fair/Force Palm, which can be used against him. Just because you rely on something doesn't mean it's not good.

And Snake/Olimar is generally a better camper than ROB.

I honestly think that you can't divide characters into categories, it is the playstyle a person plays the character like that determines that. For example, Bob could play a really 'agressive' Diddy. John plays a really campy Diddy. It doesn't make sense now does it? You can't say, "Oh, Diddy is campy." You make the character that way, they aren't made that way.

So, you can't categorize characters like this. Maybe playstyles, but not characters.

Obviously this is talking about which characters are the most inclined to a specific playstyle. Marth plays best when defensive, Olimar pretty much HAS to camp, MK generally needs to stay aggressive to maintain pressure since he has no projectile, etc.

Hahah, yeah, campy ROBS are too good. The sidestep-dsmash spamming along with gyro/laser camping is STILL viable even after a year of Brawl being out.

Diddy's combos are good too, Lucario's are alright, but not on par with Diddy's. Sheik's are too hot to ignore (even though they're not as good as diddy's, I still consider them better than Lucario's xD)

EDIT: I also think a balanced category would do well, since a lot of characters can play both defensive and offensive depending on the situation.

That's just Fox. (She can do it to Wolf, Falcon, and Falco too lol, to a degree.) Diddy's combos can be used on pretty much any character as long as they are on the ground. When I talk about Sheik's combos, I mean cooler stuff like soft nair -> ftilt -> hard nair. Or double jab -> grab options. Watching a Sheik with a good flow of attacks is beautiful. (aka watching my own sheik, YAYUHZZ)

And I'm unsure what you mena by Grabs. If you mean how good the throws are once you've grabbed someone, then Ice Climbers duh. If you mean how good the grab is, then Charizard duh.

Zair IS Aerial range it shouldn't be an extra category.

Luigi's recovery is only that good distance wise. People like Jigglypuff and R.O.B are better candidates.

If Air Dodge is a category why not rolls. If you add rolls then obviously Lucario is the first one to come to mind.

Then add Charizard to Grab Range no question it's bigger then DeDeDe's for example and add Captain Falcon to Ground Speed. Is there a limit to people per category? Top 3? Top 5?

Remove Wario from AD, ONLY MK has should be on the AD list. ALL NEWCOMERS (but Sonic and Lucas) HAVE THE BEST AD but MK has ONE MORE FRAME of invincibility than everyone else. AD would be too long of a list otherwise. If anything, put MK then under him ALL newcomers minus Lucas and Sonic.


Oh and how is Lucario and DDD not being considered in Ground range?? DDD has longer than Ike and Lucario is as long as Ike.

How is ZSS NOT on Combos? Dsmash combos into EVERYTHING.

Luigi's recovery is not the BEST. MK, Jiggs, ROB are enough.

Charizard's grab range is longer than DDD's

Captain Falcon actually has INSANE amounts of combos.
He can combo into an inescapable Falcon Punch even :p
Mario is also a combo *****. Just watch anything Boss related (And the comboing isn't just because it is Boss... He just takes it to a new level).

How about adding juggling?
Being a bit biased I would then put G&W there... Nair on its own would be enough, and then give him Uair and he literally decides when you land on the ground.

Nope. Other way round.

If it's top 5 then there's no point in having Zair as a category, there's only 3 characters with one...Like I said Zair just means they have long aerial range.

i am 99.99% sure that wario and ike have the best AD's, not MK
