I am not being very active in this game right now, and I'm going to address it before anyone calls me out on it.

Currently I am re-thinking my stance on Chibo, and it's taking a lot of time.

I do not like any of the talk regarding Reflex, other than the obvious stuff that he's inactive. I'd bet my (in-game) life that he's not mafia.

And I'm really starting to get used to the fact that I pretty much don't like any of .Joel's posts.

Shaya: I don't know anyone's role in this game, other than my own. It's just that Chibo is obviously a moogle, or a moogle impersonator.

Marc: It doesn't.

Shaya: His role had nothing to do with why I thought he wasn't suspicious.

Reflex didn't just post at night. He posted during the day during day one and two. I highly, highly doubt he has a post restriction that makes him post at night, and I'm almost completely sure that he was punished, or warned, in some way for posting during the night, since os made an indirect comment about it.

But even with mlg, a lot has happened that I don't think that reflex is going to feel up to rereading it all. We'll see. All for a chibo, adum, or reflex lynch.

swordgard, was that a real vote? or a just a pointless vote since you have to vote someone.

Oh and that was pretty def a pointless vote for Swordgard. I can tell he doesn't care who he votes for since he knows he posts in this thread daily, so he's probably only gonna take his vote seriously when someone is close to the total number of votes needed to lynch or nighttime is almost here.

Umaro was never one to be told what to do. He was constantly going berserk and bellowing at the top of his lungs just because he could. An admirable trait for anyone not living on a mountainside that was prone to avalanches.

His rebellious bellows that brought the first wave of snow was merely irritating. Umaro simply had to lift his legs a bit higher. The second wave of snow still wasn't a big deal to the Sasquatch; it only slowed him down and made him step a bit more carefully. Unfortunately for this beast, moving slowly is not an attribute you want to have during the subsequent rock slides barreling towards you on the unstable mountainside.

Crushed, broken, and frozen, Umaro's crippled corpse will remain as a reminder that you always have to play by the rules. Moments before his death, Umaro has one final message to give out:

Umaro's mason buddy, Mog, is Chibo Sempai. Chibo Sempai is town.

Swordgard (Umaro, town berserk sasquatch), is dead.

Warning time ended on Day 1, gentlemen. Play by the rules! Don't post at Night.

Night falls.

Get me your Night actions by Friday at 3 p.m. EST.

You guys should also send me a message saying "not using night action" or something to the effect if you aren't using one so I don't have to wait for the deadline

So this is what I've been missing while I've been preping for MLG?! Not fair at all. I've only played Mafia once ever, and I really would've liked to play. Sign me up to replace someone inactive if it comes up, I've read the whole thread.

Sweet Dreams.

In the World of Ruin, there's no room for honor. Cyan's yearning for justice stood in direct contrast to the goals of the mysterious force that has arrived since Kefka's defeat. Whoever did this knew the advantages of doing it during the night; they didn't share Cyan's feelings towards honor or fairness.

Scamp (Cyan, town roleblocker) is dead.

With their numbers quickly dwindling, the heroes need all the luck they can get.

Day 3 Begins
Deadline is set for May 3rd at 3:00 PM EST
With 12 alive, it takes 7 to lynch.

First of all, looks like Chibo is town. I told you he did his snare move in defense of the town rather than for it.

Second, Swordgard being Umaro makes so much sense, switching his vote he is in "berserk" mode. Haha.

Third, the town role blocker is now dead. The mafia seem to have good hunches/suspicions. There have been plenty of less active players. Scamp was medium active, but I'd say more on the less active side and was targeted. Ditto was Dastrn. I think we need to drill the remaining inactive members who are alive. I'm strongly suspicious of them for being scum. Let me build my case and I will post later today, I need to get back to work for now.

Okay that resolves Edreeses worries earlier about Reflex being able to post at night.

Ugh, we went a second day without a lynch. It hurts even more when we have inactives that weigh us down.

Umaro's mason buddy, Mog, is Chibo Sempai. Chibo Sempai is town.

I hate to be the first one to bring this up, but this message doesn't prove that Chibo is town.

It's highly likely that Chibo and Swordgard were Mason partners based on what Swordgard has claimed. However, that does not in itself confirm that Chibo is town.

I will be blunt: I have a Mason partner as well. However, it does not say -anywhere- in my initial PM from OS what alignment my Mason partner is.

Alignment is not to be assumed. It is possible that your Mason partner does not share the same alignment as yourself.

Having said this, this "message" of Swordgard's does not put Chibo out of the hot seat just yet.

Mostly cause you were inactive.

Speaking of which... argh, that was a really good choice on the mafia's part.

I was planning on posting a counter-argument, but it seems a little pointless to defend my full assertions, but there are a few choice points I wanna disagree with.

1. I never assumed there were 3 mafia players, simply no less then 3.

2. My belief was that the actions were highly suspicious, suspicious enough to justify a lynch. We don't know anything until all the mafia is revealed, but we can certainly know enough to give a lynch with better then random results based on player actions, and that was what I was going for.

3. Then who else had the history of concerted actions?

I still find your early conversation with Bardull extremely suspicious, especially for Bardull himself, why? Because, it was over a non-sequitar (though, here I will admit that it might be my IRL-only experience leaking in, where there is no need to "promote activity", so such conversations would serve no real purpose).

As far as scum... for the Jester I would see your point, if we were sure the Jester doesn't end the game when killed if it exists. As far as Survivor, unless the mafia knows the identity of the survivor, for all intents and purposes they might as well be town, because they're required to be majority to win, assisting a town win is the easiest way for this to occur, though since Chibo is obviously not a jester it's a little pointless.

I will admit, a number of issues could be due to the difference between IRL play's theory and forum-based theory, ehhh, I'll be quiet for a bit and see what comes up.

That means that his character ability includes a revelation about his masonic partner's alignment. One of my abilities has a similar effect, the person who I used it on had their character revealed when I died automatically.

Since swordgard is town, and the moderator is fundamentally reliable (except in odd, extremely specific and frankly stupid variations), we can relie on this. The fact that it's a "message from Swordgard" is merely flavor, this is a message from OS because of the character's abilities.

*facepalm*

I am interpreting it as if the message was left by Swordgard, not necessarily by OS himself.

OS has to "carry on the message." That doesn't mean the message is automatically true.

Note the posting color, that's the color he uses for information about identities and roles, in other words, his "out of game" color.

I'd like OS to confirm this, but I see nothing that suggests that this isn't a perk of his character and everything surrounding it isn't simply flavor.

To be honest, I'd much rather your interpretation be the correct one.

However, since we can not confirm whether or not it is the right one at this time, I can only hope that OS further elaborates on the mechanics of the ability so we can deduce which interpretation is correct. In the meantime, Chibo will remain in the hot seat until we can get this cleared up.

Why the hell would anyone vote for me? Scamp suggested that I'm not mafia, and mafia offed him. If I were mafia, I would milk that for as many days as I could. It makes more sense that way.
Wouldn't that also be a good way to keep suspicion off of you being Mafia?
Let alone that your inactivity hinders town and it also becomes suspicious that you haven't even posted when you were initially voted for, hell not until multiple people voted.

While certainly MLG hindered your activity, it did not affect you so greatly that you would have so very little participation.

Wow, great. I was preparing a huge post on why we should all vote for Dark Musucian too, now he's replaced..haha. Kind of takes away my suspicions. Basically, he checked this thread at exactly 12pm PST (when OS was supposed to start the new day) but he didn't post at all. Made me think he wanted to see if his kill worked but then didn't want to post about it, but I guess he just straight up didn't care to play since he's replaced now.

Why the hell would anyone vote for me? Scamp suggested that I'm not mafia, and mafia offed him. If I were mafia, I would milk that for as many days as I could. It makes more sense that way.
Maybe you did it on purpose so you can use something like this as a defense.

Bardull, are you suggesting that Swordgard's ability was to leave any message he wanted and Overswarm had to post it? And that he's lying about Chibo's alignement to protect him? I would have to strongly disagree. To me it's clear. Blue font = true information about people's roles/alignment.

Notice that his message is in blue font. Also notice that Cyan/Scamp's alignment was also in blue font. ALSO go back to page 6 (if you have max posts per page) and notice that Dastrn's information was in blue font) This strongly suggests blue font reveals true information about a characters role/alignment I don't think Swordgard could leave just any message.

While it doesn't 100% "clear" Chibo, since the possibilty does remain that this message was left to misguide us, I feel like it steers enough suspicion away from him to focus our votes on somebody else.

Didn't you just do that? Milk it I mean. There's always the possibility that it was a ploy to make people not suspect you as well.

Regardless, I don't remember any real suspicion for you, you were just the flavor of the week when we were looking for inactives to off, the comments that you made in this post were probably the most suspicious things you said.

I didn't say Swordgard was "lying," per se. Saying someone is lying insinuates that they are telling the opposite of the truth as they know it.

Rather, I am saying it is possible that he believed Chibo to be Town simply because Chibo was his Mason partner. He is not lying in this case, but he is making an assumption and portraying it as fact.

As I stated earlier, my Mason partner's alignment was not confirmed in the initial PM that was sent to me. This is why I am further inclined to believe that, assuming my interpretation of OS's post is correct, Swordgard made an assumption that Chibo was Town simply because, again, they were Mason partners.

Vote: Reflex

Planning on going back to the sidelines after that defense? It could have been your scum buddies' decision on scamp's lynch for all we know.

Granted, people weren't voting you because you were plain scummy, you were almost offed because of your lack of posts, which in itself, is scummy. But with your contribution being as low as it was, we weren't getting anything out of you. Glad to see you decided to make a post, though.

lol Adum, survivor, while being the least dangerous indy role, is definitely not the equivalent of town. In fact, survivor turns out being anti-town more often than not. All survivor has to do is figure out how many mafia members are remaining. In a game with four players remaining, there will be one mafia member left. If survivor realizes this, he can actually announce publicly that he's the survivor, and work with mafia. Make a vote, mafia will vote the same person, they'll force no lynch, night will come, mafia will kill one of the two townies, since killing survivor is pointless for mafia, and come the next day they'll both vote for the remaining townie and mafia will win. The same can be done earlier in the game if survivor can somehow figure out how many mafia members are left, but it's easier to do at mylo (mislynch or lose). That's why I don't like survivor, because it's much, much more dangerous to town than it is to mafia, and it's not a role that's dangerous to mafia as long as mafia is alive :/ Survivor doesn't really have to scumhunt. If a townie dies, oh well, he wins with mafia. And if mafia dies, cool, still wins with town. It's a dumb role.

Also Jester never ever ever causes the game to end. That would make the worst role even more terrible XD

In the World of Ruin, it is fitting that the most innocent of heart would die first. Dastrn (Gau, Town Cop) was killed during the night..... and not phoenix down nor magical spell will ever bring him back.

The heroes need to find who is doing this... and fast. Otherwise, they can expect more nights like this one. How many can they afford to lose? Action needs to be taken.

Day 2 Starts

With 14 alive, it takes 8 to lynch.

A deadline has been set for Friday, April 23rd, at Noon EST

It is equally possible that the message is blue because it is Swordgard's ability and that he was town aligned.

It's my very educated guess that this is the case. If you've seen other mafia games, mods usually make use of various font colors for alignments; blue for town, red for mafia, and green for independent, for example. In other words, the font color doesn't make it "true information", rather it gives the information orientation.

Since it is being said by Swordgard, it makes sense that the font is blue since Swordgard is confirmed Town. However, the information inside of the sentence is not automatically true because of this.

Why would swordgard say "Chibo is town" and not "I'm convinced Chibo is town" or something of the sort. It actually seemed more like Umaro was saying it, and not Swordgard. As in, it was part of their ability as masons. I think it's safe to say Chibo's town.

As long as there's room for doubt, it would be very anti-town to allow Chibo to run along unchecked.

Is there any way that we can truly confirm this?
That the message left by Swordgard is completely and utterly factual and that Chibo is truly a townie?

then again, what about the words that Overswarm said in regards to Moogle's?
They are either Town or Indy.
I do think that swordgard's words do push Chibo's alliances towards townie since they were mason buddies.

In anycase, let us focus on Reflex. His inactivity has been a hindrance, and he can't be allowed to go silent again.
