People suspecting that this beta is actually hardcore mode, which I believe.

If its not and this is normal mode... ugh. Damage needs to be fixed and the minimap too.

From the semi-auto snipers, yes.

They havent done so for as long as I can remember and changing it wouldnt make sense.

Just finished playing one full game in the BF3 beta and all I can say is "Wow..." (and not in a good way)

Very glitchy beta but I hope they fix a lot of these problems. It was also a very bold and cocky statement to say that BF3 will be going up against MW3 this fall.

Played the beta. Only shooter I've ever touched besides CoD. had some fun, but my last game I played I kept glitching under the map. Repeatedly. I would literally find 4 other team mates under the map with me. Funny at first, but extremely tedious after a while. I still mildly enjoyed it.

Care to name these issues? Any issue that is exploitable by a noob, is infinitely more exploitable by a pro. At least theres no more mortar strikes lol...

Yeah, plus from what I've seen on youtube the Caspian Sea map just looks all around better than the map we're limited to on the console version.

Edit: Also, apparently hackers have made their own server where up to 100 people can be playing in a single match, but no one should play in such a server because you'll be banned if you do.

PC only had caspian border for 4 days, 2 of which were closed beta so very few people had access. It was taken down a little over 2 days ago :(

Battlefield 3 will employ Online Pass, required for multiplayer

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/14/battlefield-3-will-employ-online-pass-required-for-multiplayer/

In an offhanded way, Electronic Arts has confirmed that Battlefield 3 will indeed use Online Pass. Responding on Twitter to a fan asking if a new copy was required to play multiplayer, DICE core gameplay designer Alan Kertz responded, "You can also purchase an online pass for a used copy." Kertz explained the reasoning behind Online Pass to another fan, writing, "Because servers cost money, and used games don't make developers any money."
Not this **** again...>.>

Actually, it does. I refuse to support developers who use these kind of tactics.
10 dollars really isn't that big of a deal. People who pay more for games deserve more content. And if you buy the game used and then get the 10 dollar pass you would probably still end up paying less than 60 dollars so I really don't see the problem. Whether a game has an online pass or not, I like supporting a company by buying the game new.

How about last gen? When you bought a used copy of a game, you got the FULL game and access to everything. EA started "project 10 dollar" with BFBC2 because they feel that "they deserve more money for used game sales" which is BS. You shouldn't learn to accept these kind of things.

You guys know my opinion on this, I will not be buying BF3.

It's not the most ethical way to combat used game sales. But developers do deserve money for the games that they make. If it were me, instead of project 10 dollar, people who buy the game new should get a discount on dlc. If I was a developer, I would want money for the game that I made.

All they are entitled to is the $60 you pay for a brand new game. They deserve nothing if you decide to sell/lend your game(s) to a friend or GS.

No. And analysts are predicting that MW3 will out-sell BF3 3-1. (No duh!)

MW3 will outsell it more than that tbh. That says nothing about the quality of the game though.

Consoles represent the vast majority of the market. COD is made for consoles, BF made for PC.

If you arent going to buy it simply coz of that online pass reason, then thats pretty silly. Youre completely ignoring the fact that games cost A LOT to make these days and to constantly update it, yet you still pay the same price you did many years ago for games that are never touched by the devs again (brawl). DICE's support for BFBC2 over the years was fantastic with a lot of balance patches and new maps, the game as it is now has well over double the maps/modes that it came with, and they were ALL FREE. You dont get any of this support unless you play online, so why should DICE spend all this time after a game is released, constantly supporting and updating it for free, if you expect to be able to share it for free, and they lose money.

Thats completely unfair on DICE.

I bet the fanboys are raging that it didn't get a 10.

Edit: After watching the review, I feel very tempted to buy this game, but I already have a bunch of games reserved, but I may pick this game up at some point.
Only a few games "deserve" a score of "10/10" or "perfect". Just because a game gets 10/10 doesn't mean it's flawless and the "best game of all time."

I'm still passing on this game, not a BF fan but I'm sure it's still a good game.

I won't be able to afford to buy this game right now.

Gonna probably play with my friends online a bit.

But UMvC3 and Skyrim are more important right now.

Will definitely buy it eventually though.
