Yet we are still waiting for him due to Sakurai's Super Star bias.
Funnily enough, both of these 2 are my most wanted fighters.
Sakurai: We want to please as many fans as possible.
Same as Yoshi and Zelda, both haven't got a newcomer for years.
I feel Poochy or Kamek could work for Yoshi, and literally anybody for Zelda
The issue between Kirby and Zelda is that Zelda already has twice as many fighters as Kirby does.

He hasn't gotten a new rep, period. Yoshi is the only series other than F-Zero to have had zero newcomers since Smash 64. Kind of ridiculous.

Besides, Geno is already a Spirit, and it's pretty much been established that this fighters' pass won't have Spirits (we are currently 0-4 for Spiruts being fighters). And again, Verge already deconfirmed both Geno and Doomguy, and we all know he must have a pretty good source to have predicted

Well Ryu Hyabusa, Geno, Crash, Doomguy, Tracer and Scorpion are apparently not the 5th on and two spirits will get promoted after the pass.
They could still be a part of the second pass, which Bandana Dee would more likely be in. Competition could still be pretty fierce.

well sakurai seems to only consider one character at a time sometimes two or three, id say its pretty laid back

I still think Spirits Deconfirm and that person was saying it for clout, but if it is real, I think it's Geno and Rayman. Both are highly requested, Sakurai wants Geno, and why get a company as big as Ubisoft only for a collectible twice in a row? Elma has a chance, but the fact that she's Nintendo holds her back quite a bit, Shantae is too obscure (that's coming from I'm a pessimist who wants her in), so I can't see her getting in, especially with Shovel Knight and sans deconfirmed, as well as rumors about Reimu taking the potential indie fighter slot.
If you're basing it on the Japanese Smash tournament, it doesn't seem like that means much.
Citation needed. There's zero proof for any of that. If anything, I'd say the opposite case is true and the Deetractors are just a vocal minority. I honestly see the general opinion on him as neutral at worst. And I seriously doubt Sakurai and the dev team hold some vendetta against him due to him being an enhanced Waddle Dee Spirit. He belongs to the Waddle Dee race after all so it still makes sense. Also, a regular Waddle Dee being enhanced into one holding a parasol doesn't really sound like an exicting enhancement, does it? Furthermore Sakurai hating him for being a Waddle Dee makes no sense. He created the Waddle Dees as well as Bandee and he even added
as a fighter so he doesn't seem to hold a grudge against generic mooks.
He did create Bandanna Dee, but as a minor character. He became a well established character in the games he didn't direct. And everyone knows how well he feels about all the Kirby games after Super Star.
