I suggest this to be added to the OP.

Self-KO Clause. Players cannot use moves such as Explosion or Selfdestruct that force a tie. If a move that has recoil damage causes a tie, the user of the move is the winner.

first match ended with me not bothering to try and 3HKO a scizor sword dancing against a TANK with 130 defense poke that resisted steel, and decided to explode instead.

Whilst I've heard of the self-ko clause, like, POKEMON STADIUM DAYS (I haven't played pokemon since then up until recently), I've never seen anyone bring it up on shoddy...

Just realise that I shouldn't have let Lord Bowser see my pokemanz team

Fair enough, it wasn't actually stated in the rules so I guess it was all fair game.

He was on 70% and had +2 attack and was about to superpower

Against a max defence Metagross that would've done
189-223%

EDIT:Vlade did ask if I could watch, don't worry I won't be editing my team to counter it or anything.

If i'm to believe what his set was:

Brick Break
Bullet Punch
Swords Dance
U-Turn

Leftovers,
+Defensive EVs (EQ would have done more than 50% otherwise).

Whilst my gross had a defensive boosting nature, max hp and high defense EVs.
Plus my gross outsped him.

He was also at about 60%.

He switched into 12% stealth rock, plus got 45% damage from eq. He was at best 60%.

Despite all that information he still would've outsped and easily OHKO'd you, I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by revealing your team, there is no doubt that Scizor would've won.

My scizor had +6 attack with superpower, would've OHKO'd

Even so, Trav did some damage calcs and found that even if it was +2 it would've OHKO'd

but because it is best of 3, no team changing imo
however you should be able to change your lead

just have rounds rly quick or just tell them what pokemon you have

both may as well spend 15 minutes making completely new teams to counter the other's between each match

But think about it like this - It's kind of like counterpicking in smash.

I initially suggested best of 1, but since we've already made it best of 3 we have to keep it this way for the rest of the tournament

I think I'll probably make the rankings ladder matches best of 1 though

Make ladder matches whatever the two people agree to, imo. If they want a NU game for ranking, so be it.
