Oh yeah, that's Kinsie's gif he made, except for the "demons" text added in.
And even thought this isn't very interesting, Doom's official twitter posted a Thanks Giving illustration.
Something i also was thinking about recently is how Eternal came around a time when a lot of people are just discovering these "biblical accurate" angels with the rings with eyes and all.
Althought, from what i recall, there's a hierarchy of angel types, so both the humans with wings and the weird wings coexist (And some more).
Makes me wonder if Eternal would consider that, to spice up the Maykr theme.

Forgive me for prying, but why exactly do you still think Cacomallow has a chance of being real? I can understand making something in advance (lots of games are in development for YEARS), but for a pair of Mii hats? As in, not even full-on costumes? If they were real, I'm sure they would've released them by now, with or without Doomguy/Geno.

I'm not trying to ruin anything for you (I've seen you on the Geno thread: you're definetly one of the more passionate fans), I just want to try and understand why people still think there's a chance, given the circumstances.

With or without Cacomallow, I think Geno chances to be playable are brighter than ever and he will indeed be playable right now in this Smash, after so much evidence and Fan Demand fulfilled.

About Cacomallow, I’m not saying that’s a 100% real, I just mentioned it cause that theory brings together your guy (Doom) + our guy (Geno).

I think chances for Doomguy are very good. But if you ask me and this is just my opinion, chance of Geno are “he is a fighter already”, you will see and I hope most fan demanded wishes gets granted!

There is nothing wrong in having faith!

Nonetheless I do find it funny that Doom Slayer is considered disconfirmed by the interview from a while back when that business decision would probably lie on Bethesda than Id. Id would come in for development of course so if they’re bantering actually did go farther than the Vault Boy costume and Doom Slayer is, say, Fighter 10. He very possibly could’ve just entered development and cause that interview to be outdated.

I know it’s reaching but I kinda feel like something about the wording of the interview seems weird to me.

I think the interview as a whole was a devastating blow to Doomguy's chances and speculation around him as a whole. I don't necessarily think it was a straight up deconfirmation though. The ONLY way I'll 100% rule out Doomguy is if he officially gets deconfirmed by Nintendo or Sakurai. Whether that be through an interview, spirit event, or Mii Costume. I don't care as long as it's a solid deconfirm. It's also a shame that you really can't talk about Doomguy POSSIBLY being in Smash anymore without someone bringing up that interview, and basically treating Doomguy like he's not even worth talking about anymore. Now I'll be the first to admit I'm not particularly confident about his chances, or him being a fighter, but that's not going to stop me from thinking about the low percent chance of him actually making it in.

I mean we also had people that jumped to saying the Eternal Switch port was cancelled. Deconfirmation bias, gotta love it.
People in general have no patience these days. They don't wait and see if something does/doesn't happen, and generally just assume things that must be true without any proof until causality slaps them across the face.

On a related note, I find it bleeding weird that the Mario 35 tourney got delayed to early December when there wouldn't be any particular reason to do so (especially for a spirit event about hats, of all things). I guess that we might get to see the full picture of the supposed Cacomallow leak by the time of the VGAs' end, until then this mystery is just going to be a winding maze covered by fog.

Agreed on that front. I'm just getting sick and tired of people bringing up that interview as the ultimate linchpin against such discussions.

Tbh, interviews that "deconfirm" fighters have never stopped speculation (especially given the precedent for interviewees to outright lie when asked certain questions), and the Hugo interview being magically different because "He goes into way more detail" is just a desperately reaching and boneheaded justification as to why this particular interview is decreed as "100% fact" by the Slayer's detractors.

Well, after Steve, I'm a little more hopeful that this can happen. I mean, Sakurai was willing to rewrite every single stage in Smash Ultimate to accommodate his mining and crafting gimmick. I feel if he's able to do that, then he can animate unique Glory Kills for all the Fighters. Just sayin'.

Sounds good on paper, but after the ton of glitches that occurred just from implementing said gimmick, I'm not sure the fanbase would be ready to go through that again.

I mean, to be entirely fair, I don't know how long Steve's been in development, but the glitches were probably the result of having to work remotely during the quarantine. I mean, we're in like what, Month 8 of COVID? Steve's been planned for 5 years, yeah, but the quarantine period probably was a big factor in terms of actually developing the character.

I agree pretty much will all you said. The interview does not deconfirm 100% (the only true deconfirmation is being a Mii Costume, a spirit this late in the speculation game in an event or by Nintendo/Sakurai themselves. But it does hurt him in some way. It's just up to the time to see if something else pans out or what.

Hmm... Doom Guy revealed at TGA 2020...? You know, the thought clicked with what happened back in TGA 2018; we got the surprise reveal of Joker as CP 1 for SSBU. Now what a coincidence it would be that two years later, if no DOOM Eternal news come up before November is over, that they decide to shadowdrop the news at TGA along with a surprise reveal of Doom Guy as CP 8. It could be a possible scenario, and it would serve more as a callback to TGA 2018 (having revealed the protagonist of an M rated game that at the time was not yet on the Nintendo Switch). Although the nominations don't have anything to do with said possibility (but you gotta admit they almost could hint at it), Bethesda/Id Software would have a win-win if it were to pan out that way.

Nice to see Eternal still hit the 2020 release date on Switch, I was sure it'd have been delayed to 2021 by this point.

Going by the Slayers Club FAQ that Isaac: Venus Adept Isaac: Venus Adept posted, Doom Eternal's storage size on the Switch is considerably less than what I was expecting - 18.8 GB. I was thinking about picking it up if it was less than 25 GB (since that's a third of the remaining space on my SD card, and most of the games that I download don't take up much space), so I might get it.

From the sounds of it, if you get Doom Eternal before December 23rd, you're sent a free code for Doom 64. I already have that game, but hopefully, I'll be able to send the code to my brother.

I'm just going to say this, I think the Doomslayer will be revealed soon for Smash Bros.
It's due to Black Friday. I'd be thrilled if Doomguy/the Doomslayer gets revealed soon, but I don't think it's a hint.

Well, it is nice that we finally know a date for Eternal on the Switch. I would still prefer to it to also have the option of being a physical version but who knows.

Maybe an Special Eternal Edition with all the DLC included into the game later on?

Doom Eternal's out on the Switch now. I haven't gotten the chance to play it yet (I started the download, but I had other stuff that needed to get done this morning), but the first impressions that I saw on Reddit seem positive.

Also, I was given two codes for Doom 64, I think, which seems unusual. (I got two very different 16 digit codes in the e-mail about Doom 64) If they're both for Doom 64, I'm not sure what I'll do with the second one. (I already have the game, so I was planning on giving the code to my brother)

EDIT: turns out that the first code didn't work, but the second one did. I assume that it's due to me already owning Doom 64. Also, they give Switch owners several of the cosmetic packs, like the retro Revenant or Doomguy's Maykr and Ember skins, as an apology for the wait.

I realized Doom: Eternal finally came out today on switch but H'ooooo...59 is too much. i might need to buy an expansive card for the eshop.

Just saw the post from the Geno thread but yeah. Its happening, holy hell. If there's a good time to reveal Doom Slayer, it's now. It's just such a great opportunity considering the attention from western audiences and DOOM Eternal position for nominations.

I'll be crossing my fingers for any RIP N' TEAR on the VGA. Awards and as a playable character in Ultimate.

I think the 8th fighter is most likely be the Doomslayer because not only Doom Eternal for the Switch came out 2 days ago, but also today is also Doom's 27th anniversary.

Even if Doom Slayer isn't revealed tonight, there are still three other DLC characters coming - Nintendo's missed out on plenty of perfect chances to do things before.
