i dunno, i think it's pretty weak of people who live in the area to charge money to house people that have driven a million hours and are spending a ton more money than they are.

a couple pro players from the East Coast slept on the floor of some Missouri people's hotel room at the last MLG. i wont name any names, since apparently "freeloading" is so rude and pathetic, i wouldn't want you to have to call out some of your own. those two from the EC traveled a long way to get to mlg columbus, and someone was willing to help them out. Missouri dares to ask the same favor from the EC players, and i get told that i'm rude and to shut up.

i mean, it's whatever, just thought we as a community were a little better and more helpful to one another, since we've all been in a situation (or ARE in a situation) where money is tight. and at a national tournament, where so many great players meet for the first time, i'd think our smash community would be a little more generous and understanding to those who have travelled a long way, since we've all been in that situation. i'll remember to be extra petty about housing, should there ever be a national close to where i live.

anything i posted about giving out sexual favors was clearly a joke. i was trying to keep things lighthearted and funny, but i guess i wont do that anymore either. thanks east coast, you're everything your stereotype claims that you are, so far.

If people are "Housing", then yes they generally let you stay for free (or very cheaply). But you did not ask for housing, you were asking to stay at a hotel. People who have hotel rooms are most likely traveling, just like you, and spending a lot of money. It wouldn't hurt to help pitch in for the room to make everyone's expenses a little bit easier.

I can understand wanting to save money, but just not at someone else's expense. You should look into people in the area who are housing to save some money! Hope I helped clear things up! =D

Now is it completely crazy for someone to let people stay on the floor in their rooms for free? No.

But it's just not nice to ask for it outright like that.

Asking for help with housing because you and your crew/whatever doesn't have a place to stay nor the money to pay for a hotel room? Perfectly fine.

If you happen to get someone who's both willing to help AND who's staying at the hotel, consider it a bonus
