You'd think Pichu and Mewtwo would at least return as Pokéball Pokémon? (assuming they're out) or have some kind of role in SSE.
Problem is, having an SSE exclusive role is maybe worse than not being in at all
I can imagine ranting/crying/being upset if I see Mewtwo as an SSE boss...
Then again, isn't it entirely possible that the 35 roster only lists the characters unlocked through SSE? Or the only characters unlocked WITHOUT SSE? Oh, I dunno. I'm still in denial.
In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to erase Mewtwo and Pichu's involvement with SSB from existance, if they're not in.

Let me be serious for a moment [/Lance Storm] I'm pumped for the game as much as ever. The characters already revealed already have me freaking out with excitement, any others are just icing really.

Speaking of Brooklyn... Super Mario Super Show Mario for Brawl!
The thing I think they approached wrong was the secret/starter character balance. Melee had 14 Starters and 11 secrets, almost even, but if the 35 is true, Brawl has 21 starters and 14 secrets... Not very balanced. I know Sakurai said he wanted more characters to be available at the start, because for me, Lucario, Wolf, and NES ROB aren't big enough of a good surprise, like Isaac, Vaati, Ridley or Micaiah would be.
Also I still can't see why almost every Melee character returns except for Mewtwo... putting him in the same category as Pichu, Dr Mario and Roy is not on

Well what Joe was trying to point out about Mewtwo was he's supposed to be the pwn all of Pokemon and he pretty much sucked compared to the other pokemon, even Jigglypuff who's evolution has never even escaped the NU tier. It would be like if Arceus was a pokeball pokemon and all he did was 5% to the opponent. The sad part is it doesn't matter how balanced they tried to make him he's still play completely under what he should be as a character. Thus why Joe said Lucario isn't limited in that capacity as he isn't supposed to be a legendary super being.

I mean seriously, do you think Fox's combat ability in the Starfox games is as good as it is in SSB? And if Samus had the same power she did in the Metroid games, the other characters would be blown away...
Ganondorf is meant to be a legendary super being and Zelda has never fought in her life :-/

BTW, if the 35 roster is true than rapscouter is INSTANTLY fake, right? Since some of his "updates" state 3 or more things going against the 35 roster.

I think you should change the reason for HoldenCauly's debunking. That "leak" is pretty much debunked (and even if you don't think so, you shouldn't use one disputable source against another). You should instead put down the Famitsu magazine as the true source.

I've striked the lies that would come from the 35 roster, and I've italics-ed the ones that are very unlikely anyway after that.
I highly doubt that all 3 of the claims in italics will be true, meaning rapscouter is probably a fake if the 35 roster turns out true.
If the starter roster video is proved fake, then this definitely shakes the 35 roster's back up, especially since the main basis for believing them was the placement the characters fall into (columns) when unlocked. Unless the video is real, we don't know the placement for the starter roster. For all we know, Mario, Peach and Bowser could all be right next to each other, and Olimar could be near the top.
On the other hand, if it's true, then it could prove NEOgafgroup™'s legitimacy, meaning there are 41 stages, which you must admit is pretty amazing. However, NEOgafgroup™/NyaseNya/ChaosZero are all very very similar, meaning they could have copied ideas from each other (Both NyaseNya and ChaosZero have reason/coincidences to believe they're real)

Nah...The placement of the characters was not the selling point. It was basically just the icing on the cake. And still, don't forget about PortraitOfRuin's supposed Final select screen arrangement which is NOT a mockup. It's VERY similar to the mockup, except Wolf is out of place.

Well then what was the selling point? If the 2chan starter roster video is proved fake (it pretty much is) then the only backing is supposed "credibility". ANYONE can lie. Serebii could lie if he wanted to.

There's nothing saying the NEOgafers can't lie, I guess Serebii runs a very popular site, so he would have more to lose. But if they (NEOgafers) did lie, or were genuinly mistaken, smarter people wouldn't hold it against them.

Serebii has far more to lose than the NeoGaffers, esp. if they are being "confirmed" by the mods. Do you seriously think they are going to get perma-banned if the mods are on their side? They are just causing a huge stir up if anything--it's highly suspect.

NOBODY actually knows or speaks to this guys and they are incredibly smug about everything, even keeping their own screennames to post. That's a bit suspect, imo. Credibility lost there.
The 35 character roster works in quite a few ways because it incorporates the more believeable leaks and we still got all the wanted characters in the starting roster, but it leaves hardly anything to be unlocked. You basically are unlocking the Melee cast + 3 faces--not very exciting. That being said, Melee would've only had 3 new faces and 2 old ones had there not been clones. So it's not unfamiliar to the series.
BUT, on the inverse of that, if this game is promised to be huge and "for the fans," "as if it were the last," etc. etc., I would expect to see a few more fan suggested characters. Pit, Wario, Dedede, and all the rest are fine and dandy, but there's something to be said for Ridley, Geno, Krystal, Takamaru, and others. It's a bit silly to ignore nearly 7 years worth of fan input making "the final game in the series" and only going half as far. I just find that to be a bit of a slap in the face because of all the time and energy people put into requesting these characters.
We DID get a lot of characters we wanted. Hell, every last newcomer is a character that was very popular with the fans. But why stop there? Why suddenly backtrack and say, "okay, that's done. Now to fill the rest of the game with veterans and two highly suspect additions." Not to say ROB and Wolf aren't bad choices (I can deal with those two, and I kind of had expected ROB anyways), but they certainly weren't the best options by a long shot.

I'm guessing we'll have most revealed by Friday, and it'll take until Saturday or Sunday to get the whole thing. Some people will be literally playing this 24/7, so it'll hopefully be quite quick some people will finish SSE on the first day XD

. . .MarkMan actually runs a Tekken site that leaks info so yeah, he has something to loss if he is wrong and or faking.
And Reno has a some good amount of years of cred behind him so yea, he has something to loss too to just now start lieing.
And the NeoMod is. . .well, a mod at a big site that IP-bans anyone spreading fake info and he said he talked to Reno and knows his source to be real and creditable so yeah, he losses his mod status and is IP-Banned too for spreading fake info.
They actually have something to loss. . .I don't see them going all willy-nilly with this stuff.

Actually Serebii. As long as one person like Short Fuse gets a hold of the game, they'll probably rip it within hours of getting the game, crack it and tell us the roster.
I look forward to hearing the music from the game because of that (Still have SFs topic open). Even if I'll probably be buying any OSTs or music collection CDs that come out with the Brawl label. XD
