The only modern day Isai is Isai. As for BRAWL's Isai... that's yet to be determined.

The only vids from the feed that have a chance of making it on youtube are the ones that were saved on NinjaLink's wii. So if you want them uploaded, you'll have to bug him. If I were recording the pro bracket matches they would be up, but I sacrificed my recording equipment to bring you guys the live feed. Next time I'll try and set up recording and live feed at the same time using two capture cards and two laptops :p.

I haven't read this board for a while, and now I see that someone named Ally is considered to be the best Snake player, well.. I checked some of his battles in Youtube and I wasn't impressed to tell the truth, I think Psycho ****** and DSF are better candidates for the best Snake players.

BTW, aren't there any famous japanese players who use Snake aswell? I've seen some crazy grenade techniques by some of them :)

Souther is pretty nasty, but he hasnt got anything on ally. And you can't "SEE" skill in videos at that sort of level. I watched M2K play Dojo and said "there's no way I'd get 3 stocked like that first time I played him, he's making so many obvious spacing mistakes".

And guess what, I got 3 stocked too. :p <3 M2K.

I watch Allys videos sometimes and I think "that doesn't look like the smartest option" but you just can't understand some players moves until you actually play them.

"I've seen your vids and Im not impressed" - Famous quote I used to make.

there are a few things ally doesnt do that he could do though and would be much better if he did

mortar sliding vs ddd (as long as you don't get grabbed/shield grabbed out of it then it's good to escape situations), up smashing vs ddd (if DDD manages to grab Snake then the falling mine will hit DDD), f tilting ddd during landing lag (From air dodges or whatever) or anything to punish ddd as he's landing, dash grabbing ddd when ddd runs at him, and doing short hop dair to kill DDD at 100%, especially after you edge hog ddd's up B. You can also gently throw a grenade in front of you if you know DDD will try to swallowcide you and DDD eats the bomb and falls to his death (most of the time DDD won't be able to up B back onto the stage I think).

those things for example would make him better vs ddd

also, if he angled his shield up he'd do better vs mk's torando.

About DAC'ing into a D3, with goo dtiming the d3 can just grab him...

other then that, I agree with a lot of what you said... <.<

@en.eh.oh

So he uses 1 move 'poorly' (he uses it well), does that make him a horrible Snake?

It's a decent retreat tactic, poor approach.

And M2K, almost everything is good when done randomly, and in certain situations. lol

Unpredictability is one of the keys to winning. Because when you're predictable, you're punishable.

I donno. That was good, but it really wasn't inhuman. There were a lot of things that he could have done better. There were too many predictable spot dodges that I think could have been grabbed out of, and not to mention ace was not spacing well at all. And basically, all Ally did was grab, try to regrab, and sometimes throw grenades. Most snake players incorporate a lot of his projectiles into their play, but this was basically just predictable grabbing that could have been avoided. Good snake, but definitely not inhuman.

You misunderstand Neo. He said the way Ally used C4 was '********', not 'poor'. Meaning that Ally's use of C4 was creative and effective.

I disagree, watching videos is the only tool I can use in order to see how good he really is, so if I watch Daigo (SF player) and I can *see* why he's so famous then I can understand how he made his name.
I even understood the popularity of Psycho ****** and DSF by watching videos aswell, I've seen their mind games, but I haven't seen Ally's mind games at all, so I don't buy the "you can't judge him by videos" saying.
And I wasn't referring to M2K, since I don't watch MK videos.

Oh and thanks for the japanese ;) got more?

@squall

The real way to see player skill - brawl them in real life
The way to see everytime they **** up or their opponent ****ing up - watch videos

Which of the two is better - brawling in real life, you don't have TIME to think "****, should have SH Nair'd rather then try to spotdodge that" AFTER it happened.

Also -RECENTLY- from watching DSF's Snake, I'd say he's gotten worse, and makes plenty of mistakes. Want to bet who would win if we brawled in real life though? I'd be willing to bet his Snake would beat mine.

Ally doesn't play like any other snake. That's why you think he doesn't look impressive. Different doesn't mean bad. In fact in this case, Different means amazing.

Ally has a style that can't truly be copied, that's why he's so unique.
