good stuff son. lux beat me like 5-6 games straight at pound.... I wanted to money match him after, but he said playing against me was too stressful lol. whatever that means.
Thanks, I never played so careful in my life then when I played Lux.

*tick* *tick* Two more. (You're probably getting fed up with this)

CP Snake to... huh. IDK, Snake is pretty stage-versatile. Would Yoshi's be a bad idea? RC? Delfino? CS?
Eh, I'm probably just gonna go to Smashville for Snake. All the levels that benefit me benefit him. He doesn't really have a "bad" stage. I mean, Yoshi's would be ideal, but that's the one he bans.

Lost to Lie and EE. Almost beat Lie, I feel like I could have won match 1 but horrible DI on my last stock ftl. It went to match 3 where I was down by a considerable amount and tried to bring it back, ended up losing with Lie at 1 stock about 40%. Lost to EE match 1, just a horrible match for me in general. Took him to Yoshi's (why he didn't ban it idk, but I'll take it =D) and got a 2 stock. Then I knew we were going to either RC or Brinstar, so I decided to ban RC and almost pulled through on brinstar, had him at last stock about 70%.

Tourney aside, had some friendlies with Seagull and a MM against Lie's MK, both of which are on youtube. Despite the fact that I lost to Seagull I got an awesome KO in match 1 so I'm happy. =D

Picto is the best stage to CP against Snake, Sonic has iSDR which when fully charged goes through nades, it has a high ceiling, in the neutral portion of the stage there's plenty of room to run around, and we have one of if not the most versatile character in the game when it comes to adapting to stage changes.
Yoshi's is only good against Snake if you use the iSDR, otherwise it's just a small stage w/ little room to run around and mutually beneficial low blast zones.

Edit: @Excel, bro you're a bit weird XD those are his best stages, excluding stages with low ceilings. He can set up a ton of traps and platform camp you.

... I'll be the first to say that I have had Grenades clank me out of iSDR.

Then again, those Grenades were probably still moving. Maybe.

Tell me when they're not being lobbed at you though. ~_~

notice how I said fully charged my friend. :3
Edit: Though, I wouldn't doubt that even a fully charged iSDR would clank with a mobile grenade.
Fun fact, since iSDR either clanks or beats everything, moves w/ transcendent priority like Marth's Dancing Blade or Wolf's Lasers lose 100% of the time. Then again, you probably already knew that Kinzer :)

lol you dont have to fully charge isdr to go thru nades, or anythign else. as soon as you initiate the side b on the slope, it is fully unbeatable upon release no matter how long its charged.

its so funny and cute when little kids try to step up and act like they know things.

Actually, surprisingly enough, KIDGoggles was actually right. :3 I was about to provide video proof and everything so I got out my wii, turns out the only reason why there was difference between when I charged fully and when I didn't wasn't actually the charging, it was because when snake throws out a nade it bounces 3 times, if you connect with a nade while it's in the air at all it's a clank regardless of charge. Basically by fully charging I was allowing the nade to bounce all 3 times, rather than it being a difference in how much priority the iSDR had.

That wasn't the part he was wrong about, and your font color is horrible because i have to highlight your posts to see it.

KID is correct on how iSDR works, it doesn't matter how charged it is, it's just initiating it.

Nades only clank you out of your iSDR if he lobs them, if he shield cancels then throws them, you SHOULD be able to go through them.

EDIT: Isn't this obvious? Why are we talking about this? Lmao. SONIC GENERATIONS?

the wrong part was saying iSDR is fully unbeatable, though we all know its beaten by very strong moves with regular priority.

... Hmm?

You mean like Lucario's Aura, which is a given?

Then again, besides Lucario, it's such a rare occurrence, that it may as well be just that. How often do you see people running iSDR into one of Ike's or Snake's smash attacks?

Why punish Ike or Snake's obvious attacks with just iSDR?

Why try to challenge them?

So many questions~!

Flayl: The price stayed the same for all 3 tournaments. I changed the price after the 2nd experimental tournament I hosted. If I recall correctly, the 2nd experimental tournament was MK banned. Beyond that point, none of the monthlies were MK banned.

Ankoku: The price been $5 for singles and double (per person). The experimental tournaments , it was $6

13th - Kinzer(Sonic)

Welp, Mike has yet to get the bracket up.

I'll put a proper link whenever it comes up. I hope it does anyway.

My passion to get better at Brawl has been revived. For the longest time I had though I had ran my course and there was nowhere for me to improve; and was strongly considering an early retirement. I see now that I just need to consciously think through my actions more and study my opponent to the point where I can outplay them. There's no excuse for me to retire before I go out with a bang.

It was weird, I didn't think I'd be going either. I'm not going to say why, but at least I went and did something good... even though it probably cost around $150 minimum in traveling expenses.

And I got there late. I really wanted to play some friendlies with some of Cali, especially some Lucarios that were there. Oh well, the grudge matches will probably have to wait until Genesis II.

Speaking of late, the carpool was fun, despite ending up being late for our pool, having to play five straight matches without any sort of break, me getting third seed, me apparently being called out on fapping to phone straps and-

Eh, all that for one Mexican restaurant that probably had one of the better Roasted Beef burritos I've ever had. Or maybe it just tasted better because it was free. Xero paid for us since he caused us to be late.

Speaking of pools, I had my salty runback with Tyrant.

I guess I still do need to improve. I could take him to last stock both games, but I didn't make the right reads a lot of the times, and ran into one too many things I should not have.

But besides that, there was this D3 player who did nothing but pivot-grab, waddle, and space to keep me out. I am sad to say that he beat me 1-2. I have no idea how I'm suppose to handle that being that nobody plays D3, but oh well. Went 2-0 with everyone else. Not impressive but At least I get the third seed and advance to the pro-bracket.

In there, I had to wait a stupid long-time to get my match, because Mike had it so that the winner from the amateur bracket would get redeemed. That made the pro-bracket run incredibly late, and I think Mike knows better than to do something like this for future tourneys; as do I with whatever tourneys me and Jerry would happen to host here back home.

Was all pointless though if you ask me, since I just sent the guy to losers. :p

But urgh, Falco is so much trouble for me. More trouble than he's worth IMO.

Speaking of Falco's, I just HAD to play DEHF next round. One of these days I'm going to find a way. I managed to at least take a stock when I didn't approach like a ******* and not kill myself, so maybe that's progress.

BTW Donkey Bong is still free. Ain't nobody gonna tell me otherwise. 'Cause like I had to play on YI first match just because I said to myself "I'm not falling for his Up-B shenanigans." and I didn't. What really got me was that he wouldn't Effin' die before 260%, and random Afrikan Pawnches. Even then I still took him to last hit last stock that game. And of course because Donkey Bong is so free I managed to like JV-2 the poor guy the next game. I even had enough of a lead with a cocky attitude to just run to the other side of the stage and up-taunt him. I will admit though, game 3 had me worried the most, so i just started to play really campy, have the lead, and let him come to me. Poor guy couldn't do anything but approach with Bairs, and occasional Side-B in the hopes of cracking my shield or grounding me. It worked until I realized he has no other way of approaching me and I just sat in my shield waiting to punish OoS.

Then I had to play a Kirby. I'm like "How do I play against this guy? °_o" And go figure, first match I get 3-stocked because of gimmicks and plain inexperience. Next game I take him out with two stocks and a very comfortable position. When it came time to CP to game three I sarcastically asked him "what am I suppose to ban against a Kirby?" He goes on to say something about by default he'd go Rainbow Cruise but since he knew Sonic to a certain degree he rather go Brinstar against me." He admitted that before I even declared, so I thought since he was honest, I'll throw him a bone and play on that same stage. He may have been surprised, but I said I'd rather reward honesty than play for keeps 100%.

Surprisingly enough, when it got down to the wire I had a 30% lead on him. The time was wearing down too, and I realized that I could just play like Wario and run away because Kirby is not all that mobile. Too bad that when I just had to Dair back down to get away my Back Air suddenly registers very late and becomes FSmash; which he then proceeds to kill me. Makes me sad to know that despite the inexperience that I was so close to winning and placing 9th, and possibly could've done better. Nothing I can do about it now though, I suppose another one of my problems is that I don't know how to play these obscure characters. I feel that I had any idea back then I wouldn't have needed to lose the first match as bad as I did, and I knew what to do the third game I could've just played gay and let it go to time.

It's no matter though. I'm gonna do everything I said about getting better and then some, because now I actually want to get better again.

Also yeah, no collapse boxes and a detailed description, because I'm so happy about my performance and I want the feeling of nostalgia. Feel my wrath b****es.

Seriously though, Now that I got this out of the way, I'm gonna get frame-data, then go play WoW and disappear for another couple of weeks. I hope the bracket comes up soon.

How many times have I said some of this already?

Also someone tell me why~ I'm a bad team leader and why I suck in doubles. I feel bad for Ankoku, since he had to team with my *******.

Also someone tell me why~ Phoenix is gonna work on his approach and recovery habits and give Cali some more Sonic rep. ^_- I hope so anyway, I notice that so many people, including myself, just fall into a stupid pattern and we lose for it. When we get rid of our predictability we just dominate with a commanding presence.

Oh yes~.

I feel bad 'cause I think I could pull more weight in dubs.

It happens with Jerry too. I mess one input and I think "aww damn now he's probably mad at me that I goofed up and maybe if I didn't we coulda had this! >_<"

Also, tell me where you got that custom-made shirt already! I want this particular image as the pattern.

I always think the same way when I screw up like with an accidental dair suicide and it feels like I'm not putting enough weight in our team.

I'm kind of good with Sonic...
:)
Yea, kinda. :awesome:

Kinzer, I didn't read more than like 3 lines of your post, but it looks like you only have a passion for the game when you place higher than most of the people at the event.

I understand how you feel about teams. I always feel like I'm not pulling my weight as Sonic in teams. When my partner gets gimped, or kills just aren't happening, even if I stay alive for a super long time and do 500+% damage in a game, it feels like I'm not holding up my end. But, when I go metaknight and just spam nado, I feel like in some douchey way, I did work ().

Well~, if I had videos to post I would, but Cali is awful with hacks it seems. Not to mention even if they did I can't exactly be sure that they'd upload it, let alone in a reasonable time.

Anyway at this point I wouldn't expect anyone to care. What with the invention of collapse tags and other things to do than read one person's (half-baked) entry. It's just been a while since I've done something like that, entered a tourney even, did well, blah blah blah. It's important to me dammit!

But for now, I'm off to play with my Touhous and WoW until the next tourney, and the next one, and the next one, and the next one, or until I feel like coming back here and writing more fort he community guide which I would love to see finished but am far too lazy/untrusting of myself to get it all done by myself.

Ad infinitum. I don't know why I wanted to say that.

I'm random.

Lalalalala~!

Admit it; as a competitive player, performing beyond the bounds always leaves you with a sense of euphoria for a while. One might say long enough to last until the next tournament happens.

25th Zero (:sonic:)

Beat Rei-Gun (:falco:/:marth:) 2-1
Lost to Gnes (:diddy:) 0-2
Beat KBot (:popo:/:metaknight:) 2-1
Lost to D. Disciple (:lucario:) 0-2

I'm still salty about my loss against D. Disciple considering I almost always take trela to last stock =/
Not to say he wasn't good though. Oh well, I let my initial arrogance, and then following loser's rage get the best of me. D:

*sigh*
I'm really disappointed at myself as a player and a TO. I lost to LordoftheMorning and Ankoku yet again. I need to step up my game, but right now, I'm not sure if I even qualified to be a player. I was so disappointed, I didn't want to team up with Kinzer this time. I paid for both Kinzer and Hino to team up which I knew they would probably do better than me teaming up with Kinzer. Sometimes I do consider if I should just stop playing. Maybe I'll calm down and cheer up for the next few days, but I may just go back to Touhou Hisoutensoku for a while.

As for being a TO...I'm just disappointed on the turnout for this fundraiser tournament. I was hoping for more people to show up to remember a fellow friend who passed away 2 years ago and only 18 people came. Though we did raise $186, but it feels like it was not enough.
