I know everyone in this time, believes that the tier list, is a thing of the past, and that if you just have patients and perserverance, that any character can be the best, atleast your books, so with that being said, I am creating this thread to ask people to post what they believe to be their own tier list. If you dont want to post all the characters, just do top 3 bottom 3, thats what im interested in

this is how this list is broken down can they win a tournment? they go into that tier in all truth if someone knows how to fight the last tier they will basically lose unless they go to a good stage or something. I have what I call the roy claw it's funny and causes me to sandbag against roy even if i'm losing. I think bowser/roy better than pichu without a doubt i'd argue against you if you said pichu was better.

it's simply pichu's overall tools are safe enough to spam right if I camp bowser on KJ64 or know to chain throw and junk yeah WTF?I don't think bowser could get past some of that doesn't have the movement to back his moveset up. but his up-B, tanking, kill power and junk are better just simply these charcters are hard countered pretty extreme by not so extreme tactics. So I in truth have 2 two lists in my head. and in that one pichu is like 4th worse if we count MH

60/40 is pretty hard too :\

If you talk to top players from the perspectives of both characters (Hungrybox and Amsah), they will tell you it's a completely horrible matchup for Sheik, worse than Fox. Not saying I necessarily agree with them, just putting that out there.

I think that DK is actually better than Zelda and Y. Link. DK can combo pretty well with his good throws, has one of the best ranges in the game, very strong and heavy, and faster attacks then Zelda.

Agreed, DK is better then Zelda, and Young Link, infact, DK is pretty solid, personally i find him difficult to use, but it can be done, i mean, I believe it was the first ever Japanese finals(im probably wrong on that one) but i remember that the finals were a DK vs. Fox, I believe Captain Jack was the DK, but he won, so obviously DK's not THAT bad

DK is not better than my favorite character Zelda. She's soooooo better than him. DK is annoying! I hate that down + B attack. The only thing that's useful for is killing those alloys and wire frames in multiman melee/brawl. DK needs a life and basically he should be kicked off the smashbros series! I hate DK. Grrrrrr!

DK is very unfitting in the game like think of a charcter which more range than marth and everyone's like what? then you say someone with a great grab game. we're like oh marth dittos duh.

because peach is a really bad character that is very limited. the matchup against cf and jiggs is unwinnable, ntsc fox is ridiciously hard, ntsc sheik has an advantage, marth has an advantage, falco is even. even doc and ice climbers do better than peach against these characters.
and armada still manages to be the best player in the world with peach, the ****ty princess. just amazing.

Well you heard the man, you've got to have patients to be the best! I guess that in order to truly reach the highest levels of the metagame we need medical professionals to pick up Melee!!!

If nobody believed they could win with there character then we'd have a bunch of Fox's running around or something, obviously people have faith in random characters. Im not sure if you noticed but im like 90% sure that a tournament has been won with atleast every character

I dunno, players have won with atleast mid level characters, Ganons, IC's, Samus etc. and when you start to get lower im sure if atleast at some point, they have won with good players present, im not saying a zelda or Young Link is going to dominate, but they could still have good showings.

Clearly the Japanese metagame circa 2002-2003 is similar to the current metagame.
