Wow, you guys just don't understand how BIG SF4 is. Do realize the fighting game community has been waiting like 12 years for this right?

@ Candy: You just don't understand the game enough. Once you get into it it you realize all of the mind games and that makes it entertaining. Just like in brawl, if you see how badly someone tricks the other that makes it even more fun to watch.

and the match I showed you took under 2 minutes. A brawl match takes like 4 to 5. How can you be calling it slow?

Who cares? High anticipation doesn't automatically make a game good, nor does a large fanbase. *cough* Brawl *cough*

I'm not saying SF4 isn't good, I honestly don't know. I hate 2D fighters.

TvC was the first 2D fighter I've really tried to play and I enjoyed it. SF4 is my second.

SF4, at high levels, is in no way slow. Watching it from a 3rd person point of view it may SEEM slow, but when you're the player, there's only a small frame to react to pretty much anything that is thrown at you. During the small window, you have to decide if you'll block it, evade it, absorb it, or try to counter it. Remember that the fighting arena for SF4 is much smaller than Smash so you're almost always in range to be hit.

The game, IMO, has a good pace and it is also very technical.

exactly, every time you hit someone, you have a chance to mix it up/ trick them into hitting them again. It's so satisfying so continuously trick someone.

and it's super technical. Every one is free to their own opinion though

BTW, I didn't like SF4 when I first played. Once I got into it a little more I started to love it. I still suck though because I don't own the game so I haven't had a chance to sit and play it by myself to practice.

We Are Bad

NJ and NY wrecked us. They showed us just how dominant they were at BTYF. The truth is that we are behind. Far behind. We have crazy talent and potential here but none of that matters if we don't begin to release and expose that drive.

We have lost a lot of MD/VA power. At least 20-25 extremely talented and smart Melee players did not accept Brawl and therefore a lot of our power was reduced. The only 2 non-melee powerhouses that have entered the scene are Forte and Candy. This is not to say the rest of you guys are inefficient; however, I believe there is PLENTY of room for potential.

We have got to step it up. No more being content with 7th, 9th, and 13th place. The best will always reach for the top and that burning desire will fuel the energy needed to create a better you. I really see a lot of potential in all of you and think you guys can improve tenfold. The same goes for me because I am no exception to the rule.

Metaknight's (Omni, Forte, Korn, Lucky)
We've got to step it up. We can better. We need to master the match-ups in regards to dittos and any weaknesses that we have. What are your worst match-ups? We gotta' work on them!

DDD's (Omni, Korn, EE, Hat, Turbogiliman)
Again, we can be far more superior with DDD than we are now. There's no reason that we cannot reach Atomsk/Seibrik level.

Snakes (Candy, Greg, Tantalus, Jayo)
MD/VA is already really good against Snakes thanks to you guys and Chillin. We need more out of you guys. More consistency, more tactics, and a stronger aura in general.

Falcos (GIMR, Okin, ???)
We don't have many Falcos. Who are our mains? Let yourself be known and master your match-ups

Diddys (Esoj, Deez, Thumbs)
We really need you guys to step your game up. NL and ADHD are amazing Diddy's and there is no reason why you guys can't do the same. Watch their videos and study what makes them so great and implement it into your game and evolve it. You guys are essential to making MD/VA stronger. Esoj, I know you can step it up. Deez, I haven't seen you around. Thumbs, it would great to have you back. I see a lot in you.

Kirby's (Chu, Hat, Poyo)
You guys are awesome. MD/VA aren't losing to any Kirby's ever.

ROB's (Jcaesar, Tantalus, Knacker??, OathMeal)
Like before, you guys can step it up as well. I wanna' see more ROB's higher up in the tournament placings here in MD/VA. 'Till this day, Knacker has always scared me with his insanely good ROB and he was the last ROB to place really well in tournaments.

I can go on, but you guys get the point. We can evolve. Discuss what you think is limiting you so we can destroy those barriers. Those of you with the same main should stick together and help improve each other. STICK TO YOUR MAINS. It's fun bs'ing and using other characters, but find your MAIN and stick with them. I now forbid MD/VA to use their secondaries unless their secondaries are good enough to get Top 5 in tournament.

What do you guys think?

**** MD/VA. I have no region. no really...
Agrees with this. Also no more sandbagging your opponents(in MD/VA only. **** oos) in friendlies so that they can't accurately judge your skill. I'm guilty of this and I know many others are too, but we aren't good enough at this point to worry about how we stack up against each other. Just play to win everytime and the results will show

Omni I agree 100%!!

Getting 25th at btyf only motivated me to continue to improve rather then decline, I got in plenty of friendlies with oos to compare the difference and I'd rather play any diddy or MK here then ADHD or Shadow.... just being real. We can step it up, I know I am at least trying, APEX here we come!

Also, I really did pay 2 dollars for that seat omni >.< xD

i don't think that nj/ny wrecked us at all....right now they barely have the upper hand....and you have to realize that they all abuse MK and play him as gay as they can (most of them)

all together i think we still have more skill. While MD/VA has been improving greatly recently....ny/nj hasnt improved much....they are still as good as they were before and they have not improved much....most of it is that they just know matchups better than us

iono if yall noticed...but everytime we play them...we keep getting closer and closer
examples
meep and m2k
meep took a game off of m2k and if he keeps learning the matchup someday he will b able to beat him

me chu vs inui atomsk
me and chu finally have done md/va has never done...we took them out of winners bracket...and even though we lost in loser finals, it was an extremely close set. If we all just keep up the improvement, we (as in md/va) will be able to consistantly beat ny/nj teams

last time i played inui i got 2stocked twice...but now the outcome was different

just keep playing your mains....stop getting so cocky( i know thats a problem i have), learn the matchups you dont know and just ****!!!!!!!
