That is absolutely the best and most shocking change I think I've ever witnessed.

If you angle towards the corners, do you live longer? On Mute City, Mario dies from the track at 104% with no input.
On 1.0.3, you can live to 134% by holding down.
On 1.0.4, holding down doesn't matter.
It's dead Jim.
Hold right. In 1.0.3, Mario can die on Mute City by holding up at 74%
In 1.0.4, he survives at 103%.
DI! DI!I live to 107% by holding sideways.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSVectoring is officially dead. The direction you hold no longer affects launch speeds or distance, just angles. Tested in vs mode.
Basically the reason he lived longer is because of geometry. He changed the angle of launch to bend away from the ceiling. This is how DI works.Hold right.
Edit: wait 4%?
What.
Edit 2:
So they just took out vertical influence?
The hell?
Maybe Falcon Dtilt? It hits at a pretty raw horizontal angle. Or Ganon Ftilt it kills fasterCan someone get me a reliable, easy, horizontal hitbox to test?
Ik how DI works.Basically the reason he lived longer is because of geometry. He changed the angle of launch to bend away from the ceiling. This is how DI works.
Vectoring was actually weaker (for pure survival purposes) than DI was; it was the confusion with Crouch Cancelling that made people think otherwise.Ik how DI works.
Just surprised at the strength of this DI. I thought they would.compensate the loss of vectoring with stronger DI.
Nah It was way stronger than DI is currently. If you look at my test, there was no crouch canceling and the results speak for themselves.Vectoring was actually weaker (for pure survival purposes) than DI was; it was the confusion with Crouch Cancelling that made people think otherwise.
Yeah I knew that too. Vectoring was pretty weak comparatively, I think I had a few arguments over in the impressions thread on this.Vectoring was actually weaker (for pure survival purposes) than DI was; it was the confusion with Crouch Cancelling that made people think otherwise.
He meant old DI, Melee and Brawl.Nah It was way stronger than DI is currently. If you look at my test, there was no crouch canceling and the results speak for themselves.
That was my exact theory around the alteration of it after reading before confirmation. It seems like Wario's glitch was removed in the best possible way...Just thought of something; I'm going to laugh if Wectoring wasn't removed on purpose...
I'd say you should link a separate thread in the OP; we need to do a bunch of testing on this and it could well overrun any other changesSo uh... am I adding this to the OP? This is huge. And may require a thread for itself...
try Link's dsmash, second hitCan someone get me a reliable, easy, horizontal hitbox to test?
Add it to the OP but make a different thread as well. this needs to be tested more.So uh... am I adding this to the OP? This is huge. And may require a thread for itself...
I don't think so. It feels the same to meToon Links boomerang travels faster and further I think
I mean, I have to be able to inflict it upon myself. Regardless, I used bom-ombs.try Link's dsmash, second hit
I'm on it.What about Rage?
Should we test if rage changed?
Tested on BF with DK facing right and Blast Box on right@ SamuraiPanda Should I format my data into a new thread?
Edit:
@ Big O , do you have all your data in a single table?
Ganon f tilt is the most horizontal knockback move in the game imo.Can someone get me a reliable, easy, horizontal hitbox to test?
Yes, but I need something like a stage or an item I can use in a controlled setting on a single player 3DS.ganon f tilt is the most horizontal knockback move in the game imo
Yes you should. And please mention this may open new combos like Marth throws comboing into normals, or Falcon throws comboing into Knee (I saw several people mentioning they could do Dthrow -> knee at low percents "guaranteed") but more testing is needed. That'll get the hype train going on hyperdrive.@ SamuraiPanda Should I format my data into a new thread?
