I am a staunch defender of the phrase “nothing burger.” People say the burger part adds nothing but the metaphor of biting into a burger with nothing on it is a very memorable one, and has a very distinct dissapointed feeling

Despite growing up with the Wii, I've never actually played Wii Sports even though it was bundled with the Wii I had. While looking through some old electronics I found both wii sports and wii sports resort so maybe I'll actually play them eventually.

I read Wanted, the collection of short stories the creator of one piece wrote before making one piece. What’s really interesting to me is that most of the stories were made with the intention of having a big two page spread and a story building to it, which is a cool way of envisioning writing stories, having a big moment envisioned first and imagining a story building to it. Gives a lot of context to one piece as a story and how it was written too.
I feel like for a lot of people in the west if they hear Spanish (the language) their first thought will be Latin America but there’s still some understanding that it’s tied to country of Spain. But if someone talks about Portuguese NOBODY thinks of Portugal at all and not just Brazil. Duolingo even has the flag of Spain to represent Spanish and the flag of Brazil to represent Portuguese. I watched a walking tour of the nintendo land at universal japan yesterday and I really don’t know what people were expecting for the DK area. The Mario area is basically just one square and pretty much everything takes inspiration from either 3D World or Mario Kart 8. That’s not to say it’s bad, it’s just that if the Mario area doesn’t even reference the retro Mario games heavily why would you believe the DK area would?

As an ex-Harry Potter fan I can say the world building of Harry Potter sucks but one element that I still think is genuinely great is the fairly tale of the deathly hallows. Especially with the cinematic it gets in the movie, the way it’s told and ties in with the main story is super cool. There’s a reason people get deathly hallows tattoos and **** when it only appears in the final book

I do not normally care about made-up words becoming actual words but one thing I can't stand is unnecessarily adding "ness" do the end of adjectives to make them a noun when the word they're derived from is a noun anyways. You have no reason to say "maliciousness" or "gracefullness" instead of malice or grace
