It's kinda cool how Popeye got in SMSB around the time his cancelled movie got leaked.
I feel that often times lists of "best game music" tend to just be "the best games and their best music" or "the best uses of music in video games" - like, if you could somehow listen to every game ever's soundtrack and then rank them isolated from their source material there'd be less Sonic or Final Fantasy and a lot more "Lindt Chocolate Bunnies' Puzzle Adventure for the GBC (Germany only)" or "Dunston Checks In: The Official Video Game for Amiga (unreleased, reskin of The Care Bears Movie 2 for NES)"

The Scrimblo Bimblo debate is legitimately fascinating in a lot of ways - like, NOA have been spending a third of a decade trying to combat the kiddy reputation they gained from sweaty Mortal Kombat, but now that they've succeeded a good chunk of Nintendo fans, especially of the N64 era, have already embraced the idea of "manchildhood" and just feel isolated. Sometimes I wonder if Nintendo would've been better off (from a discourse-averting perspective in some bizarre AU where corporations care about their consumers and fandoms, not a business perspective) creating a Touchstone-esque fake brand to release their consoles and darker/less silly games under.

While this obviously isn't going to happen because of MVS, I'd love a Looney Tunes-specific (platform) fighter where the main gimmick is that everyone's special movesets are designed to work off themselves and thus allow for complex setups with either bombastic or underwhelming payoffs depending on how you use them like slapstick gags. Basically high IQ Pac-Man: the game (though obviously not everyone would be a trapper)
If I was making a Pac-Man movie I would've tried to experiment with sprite animation on the big screen as opposed to a live action movie.

I had a dream where NASB installed a mega update that added like 20 characters for free - the only two (technically three) characters I remember are Donatello (without Rapheal) and Tak, who had fellow questionable ethnic stereotype Papu Papu from Crash Bandicoot as a clone.

I feel the most logical game to compare Multiversus to would be PlayStation All-Stars. A lot of the stuff MVS is acclaimed for were done first in PSASBR (down to super specific stuff like unique KO animations in minions), and both of them have unique rules to distinguish them from Smash rather than unique physics like other platfighters.
GoAnimate is the only official capacity where you can see Captain Picard; Ryu; Chowder; that grinning bunny on the edgy 2000s t-shirts; Underdog; and Domo in the same place
Multiversus is a very different game to NASB, I don't get why you'd single them out for comparison, even in good faith, without also putting games like Rivals of Aether; Icons; and Rushdown Revolt in the comparison - one is a team fighter with characters from all mediums and a focus on new, relevant characters and easter eggs + callbacks to please fans; while the other is an "anime" platform fighter exclusively featuring animated children's television characters with a focus on decades-long nostalgia and competitive play. One can't really be better than the other when they're not even aiming for the same goal. It's equivalent to comparing Super Mario 64 to Crash Bandicoot.

If TV Tropes is correct and Tingle is barred from Smash because of how hated he is in the West, it feels weird to me that they still went ahead and added Pythra, probably the most controversial Nintendo characters since Jynx.
I'm gonna go to sleep with my headphones on, connected to the Switch, and I've pressed another game so it appears on the menu before NASB - that way, when Hugh releases I'll be jumpscared by the sound of NASB shuffling to the front of the menu queue.
