"Gimpyfish talks about adapting your playing style to suit your character, and shifting it around so that you can make what may otherwise have been your disadvantage, theirs instead. "
But Victor, I'm an aggressive fox; I can't change lol!?! (Zach thoughts ahead no tl;dr)
Yeah, I think we can all learn from this really. Doing the same thing over and over.. and over hoping for different results doesn't seem to go over well. Man it sucks that people (Me, Brent) etc get extremely flustered in a short amount of time, it tends to eat away at overall cognitive ability and takes away the capability to analyze the situation.
Loving how he phrased this quote. The "Remember that you are playing friendlies, and do not need to worry about winning. Friendlies are for learning" philosophy is what I always forget about. Treating it as a stressful tourney situation seems to get people's thought process clogged from the "want to win", at least in my opinion :_:
And on the feeling bad note, I wouldn't really blame you for playing creatively/well. I personally think that if you bash a person badly, and they are watching the mistakes (key words lol!) made, that they will improve a great deal more than if you're just playing nice ^_^. But then again they can just be a manly guy like me and stick to unpressurized doubles <3
lol I'm such a hypocrite, will possibly link it to him, dunno how he'll react to it / if he will even read it
