I don't know about adapting but I've seen some wierd things. For instance, after a level nine TL KOed me, he taunted and ducked up and down three times. People do that to me all the time online.

^ It is character specific. Most of the cast can't perform DAC. Try doing it with Snake. Just dash, hit up, and then down on the c-stick in quick succession. If you're fast enough, you won't even see the dash attack animation. You can also use Falco. Unfortunately, you have to hit someone...
