    Well, I'm not looking to drive our point home... yet. The whole thing is supposed to be an ongoing project to establish with certainty that MK is not bannable (or is, as the case may be, though I believe "not" is the case) and gain a great deal of useful information in the process.

    The biggest thing you could do to help is get people interested in the project, especially smart respected people.

    Also, debate on the to-do list itself, I need some other people defending Sirlin.

    Ok, I created another epic post dealing with it in tactical, and now it's starting to become more of a community project then a debate thread because empircal match-ups is getting involved. Which is what I want.

    Next step is start getting together a rediscussion of how we deal with match-ups, thing is top-level players are need to draw interest and establish a firm standard.

    Understand I didn't create it to poke holes at people, it's more of a to-do-list then anything else. Still, as long as they fail to satisfy it, it's a clear reference to the weaknesses of pro-ban, and something that can be quoted to deconstruct every pro-ban argument that fails to satisfy the requirements.

    Ah, I see, unless he's got a thing for that style of posting, and it's really a Socratic method thing then I'll agree.

    Would've been nice to see a legitimately interesting style of addressing those issues though, c'est la vie.

    Really, I agree with you completely on that, and that distinction might also be another reason why he was arguing so strongly, because nobody seemed to be making the distinction between pedophilia/bestiality and acting upon them.

    Regardless, I don't believe in hating anyone, and refuse to give into hatred as a philosophical stance (mainly lack of control over your actions, and the self-destructive nature of the emotion), so ultimately I believe that it was in error regardless.


    However, the main issue REALLY was that people were bringing up things like "it's just wrong", which are just as easily brought up for homosexuality or owning plushies for that matter. It's a gut reaction, and with no reference to logic, it can be used to justify any sort of distaste or downright hatred for a perfectly fine activity.


    I dunno, I think his argument deserves some critical analysis, he could've been talking about two very interesting things which nobody recognized, or he could've been trolling.

    It's cool, I'm actually still wondering if he was ultimately arguing exactly what I was, but doing it in a very provacative way, because he started paying attention to this really after people started saying gut reactions were enough to justify hating pedophiles.

    Ok, then give some indication who you're responding to. I was the post above, and you didn't SAY you were talking to somebody else, so based on context, it was a response to what I said.

    I agree with you on the actual people involved, but the last post that your post would be a legitimate response to (minus the fact that it's rather spamy) was page before. There was no possible way to know that you were responding to Teran17 based on the context of your post.

    Again, CONTEXT is everything, your posts take a different meaning based on context to.
