Time is not a physical process. I don't think anyone has said that. A better way of stating this is to say "There is no time before this point because time starts at the beginning"; the reverse makes no sense.

Because neither time nor space existed before the Big Bang. This is a pretty fundamental concept to understanding anything about physics or cosmology. Time is a measurement of change. If the Big Bang is the starting point of the universe then it would be silly to think time existed before...
