I have an easier time talking about Smash to people who don't care much about it than those who do. This is ridiculous.
If I somehow manage to get a Switch, I'll bolt from here and probably won't look back until Smash 6 exists.
My only safe prediction is that everyone's predictions for next month won't turn out the way they do because it's hard (if not impossible) to see things coming with Smash. You'd think there was a fortune telling business getting started up.

I can't tell which is "you" and "the guy she tells you not to worry about" anymore. One only appeals to the hardcore crowd, and the other's in a delicate position of trying to revive a series after the previous console gen.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 be like "we'll have our own EVO, with blackjack, and hookers!". Though I do wonder how they'll go about it, the PS3/Xbox Live rerelease isn't available anymore.
At this rate, we'll have a fully-original Paper Mario supporting cast again around...2040, at the earliest.
Phil Spencer has apparently recently said that industry-wide, we'll barely have much of anything next year due to how many things relied on mocap likely being held up or cancelled. If you thought the PS4 had no games...
I can only take solace in the fact that indies won't get much obstacles, and that Naughty Dog and Netherrealm's staffs can get a nice long rest.

It's a little annoying when fans just don't learn to simply avoid making heavily publicized fan games/projects based on existing games that a few big companies clamp down on to protect their noteworthy IPs, instead of getting angry when it happens, then proceed to make another one and make history repeat. There's a point where the valid criticism stops and it becomes asking for trouble.
The rest of the companies leave those projects alone. Hell, the only times Capcom even cared about Mega Man fan games was when one was distributed for profit, another was a case of mistaken identity that got quickly corrected without drama, and the last was a Street Fighter crossover.
At least the Mother 4 team has the sense to rebrand their game (even though there isn't a known history for Mother fan games being taken down, and there wouldn't be an official sequel anyways, but at least they didn't cancel).
