One of the things I worry about with my writing is offending people. I attempt to have diversity. But I always wonder if I’m doing it right. There was a point where I thought giving them all English sounding names would be offensive. So I did look into names that might be better suited. But now I wonder if I’ve committed cultural appropriation. Hence why I joined wattpad in the hopes of feedback

Right then, following on from yesterday here are my favourite movies from the same animation studios.

WDAS: Beauty and the Beast. you see the thing about this one is, it's my favourite movie over all. this movie has it all as far as I'm concerned, spectacular animation, great story, amazing characters, beautiful music. for me it is one of the best things ever. if the best stories in the world are the ones that can make you feel everything this film achieves that.
Pixar: Brave. might seems a bit odd to those of you who recall i have an issue with "scottish" steve. sure they're all wearing kilts but at least their not all ginger and more importantly it's full of scottish actors so they all actually sound scottish and actually use scottish phrases. it's also a great story and full of characters who are just fun. plus they had the big man himself as the king, full marks.
Dreamworks: Megamind. it's just a good movie. i love how his character arch and i find it quite funny in many places.
Illumination: Despicable Me. over all i'd call this studio more hit than miss but this film of their had the most heart i felt so it gets the top spot. even if 2 was probably funnier.
Studio Ghibli: The Cat Returns. this movie is so wonderfully mad i love it. and pretty funny too.
Blue Sky Studios: The Peanuts Movie. on top of being a great interpretation of the source material with all characters spot on it's also a nice story. and I love how they managed to fit most of the recurring jokes from the strip
Sony Pictures Animation: Into the Spider-Verse. while maybe not the best spiderman film it's still fairly enjoyable. plus spiderham is amazing.

In the recent past on this site some people have question my having negative opinions on things aimed with kids in mind. But as a fan of animation I believe family friendly things and kid things can do better, stuff for adults may be a lost cause. I also believe there's no reason not to have opinions on things negative or positive. So I am now going to list several animation studios a list my least favourite film from each of them. i'll put the list in a spoiler box.

WDAS: Chicken Little. this film is just awful. everyone I know who could be considered a dinsey fan or generous to movies says the same. in fact the i've only ever seen one person say they like it, or own resident meme master in fact, and they said the liked as a meme which as i understand it is not the same thing.
Pixar: Turning Red. this movie is so cringe. the entire premise feels oddly token for pixar and seemed to be banking a lot on everyone finding red pandas adorable. which i don't and certainly not this one.
Dreamworks: Sherk 3. a movie so awful I just can't trust it when a film franchise reaches number 3. toy story 3 being the exception.
Illumination: The Lorax. an interpretation of a well known dr seues story that feels like its trying to hard. i can't help but suspect that they were determined to catch the kids attention so they'd get the environmental message and the end result is this display that feels desperate to be liked.
Studio Ghibli: Earwig and the Witch. forget any notions of the animation being awful this film is still garbage. another plot that feels token for the studio in question, i know its based on a book but still. it also has an unbearable main character who goes through zero character devlopment.
Blue Sky Studios: Ice Age 3: see sherk 3
Sony Pictures Animation: Open Season. utter garbage. painful to watch which is surprising seeing as the king of comedy himself, billy conolly, is in it.

tomorrow i shall list my favourite movies from these same studios.

Ok so following on from my college story yesterday here’s one from uni. My video editing teacher tasked the claw with making the cold open and intro sequence for a noir tv series. Unfortunately my imagination doesn’t do dark things but I tried it anyway. So me, my brother and a couple friends filmed a sequence for tv series based on the DC character the question. While I do not miss it I do regret not making a blooper reel for it cause the four of us could not stop mucking about. Highlight had to be when my best friend was opening the door to my brother for part of it and I’m going to spoiler this cause what he said was very inappropriate my friend said “you’re not the rent boy I ordered.” To which my brother replied “well you paid for the hour” perhaps I should have submitted that for my course instead

Years ago when I was doing my college course we were tasked to make an animated short and decided to make one about batman at the supermarket Tesco. Batman and Robin went to the store in costume and the staff was the villains. All the characters were circles with vague details scribbled on them. Poison ivy was preventing people from getting vegetables. Two face was on bakery flipping his coin to decide whether to serve people. And mad hatter was on checkout until he declared “change places” and is replaced by the joker who tries to short change Batman.

i actually made this unfortunately it was in the flash engine so it’s long gone

Years ago, on a now defunct website, there was a thread for suggesting pikmin ideas. This was before pikmin 3, we could suggest new pikmin and monsters.
