    It helps that we'll be mortgage- and car-payment-free, of course... with low utility bills as well; if it's cheap enough, hell, we could opt for solar power...

    Well, I'm adverse to owing anybody anything, but... ...Of course considering we'd be able to live easily on $20,000, $15,000 a year, heh. If she made $100,000 a year and I $20,000, that'd be $120,000 a year; subtract $57,000 from that and you get $63,000 left for us without including food, etc. :p ...wow I am so much better at money stuff than other people my age XD;

    We'll see. The problem is, she'll also need two years in community college since she's not doing well in school, and SEVEN YEARS in regular college.

    Well, it was quickly established that it's nothing to fret over; we just won't have as easy a life as we planned. And... honestly, if we're doing well after a few years, financially, it could be done... My IRL friend will be staying with me as well for a while, and he's told me he'll offer some help as far as money...

    Well, no. But two acres would be perfect if sufficiency is what you want (raising a cow, large gardens, etc.).

    Thanks... I kind of need it. My girl and I figured out her college plans probably won't work out since she'll need a loan, and at $57,000 a **** year... Neither of us are comfortable with that. Her job would bring in $100,000 a year, and I would shoot for $20,000, but still...

    I've been doing a lot of work, m'self... replaced some rotted wood on the outside of our fireplace, put siding on it... working on replacing our gutters and the rotted wood there now.

    Would you be interested in a picture of me/my house, out of curiosity? I've got some... I can trust ya, so if you want... *shrug*

    What ALL is involved in keeping track of it? Is it just finding a pro willing to do it, then asking them the questions in the thread when they have time, then updating the thread?

    If so, I'm definitely up to it, I think.
