  • And besides, it doesn't only have to be math. There's coding, videography, general researching.

I fell into the last one.
You don't actually have to play it, you've just got to have a fundamental understanding of it and keep track of the metagame.

    And like math.

    Oh god maaathhh.

    ---

I don't play Brawl anymoar, I play Melee, but I research Brawl.
Well, I AM good with art, just not digital art. :p

You can post up some research and you might get recommended from the inside.:p
I'm pretty good at games but I rarely take them that seriously. After all, games are supposed to be for fun, but sometimes I do wear my "try hard" pants when I play. :p
There are websites where you can design your own gaming related stuff but it's expensive. Some people I know have their own gamertags on their t-shirts but I don't want to do that. A zelda hat sounds cool, I'm sure they sell them somewhere. I know that my local Gamestop sells gaming t-shirts but they aren't really that good.

Well it's better on the PS3 cause you can gameshare with up to 5 different people. Stupid DRM!!!!
Do you own any video game related clothes? I own 2 pieces: A Halo 3 t-shirt with Master Chief on the front and a NES t-shirt. It shows a NES controller made out of NES cartridges. Pretty sweet if I do say so myself. :p

I'm not a big fan of this gen though. Game companies like to cut content early and sell it back to you as "DLC" or unlock codes really piss em off. I rarely buy DLC for my games unless it's worth it. (i.e. Rock Band songs)
Yeah, I remember reading this article on this Walmart employee who died because he was trampled by the group. People will do anything to get great deals, I suppose. I always check online before buying stuff to see if I can get an even better price or free shipping. I buy all of my video games online anyways instead of going to my nearest EBgames, Walmart etc.

Your PS3 games will look amazing once you buy your HDTV. :)
"Pliskin is neither overused nor overrated. Hush, boy."

I came back and found this in Pliskin's thread.

There's over 23 pages all of people saying the same thing (Arf) over and over and over again, thus being overused. And saying 'Arf' over and over is not productive aside perhaps from some odd satisfaction, but people stil say it, thus being overrated.
Yeah, you can usually find some pretty sweet deals during certain times of the year. Boxing day is a pretty good day to go out and see what stores have to offer you in terms of discounts. Playing your HD console on an HDTV is pretty good, I have my settings set to the highest on my TV.
Yeah, HDTVs are getting cheaper and cheaper these days. In fact, a few months ago I bought a new 32'' LCD TV for about $400 and I've had no problems with it so far. It's a Sony Bravia and I play my Gamecube and N64 on it. I'm also able to catch a few more channels from my cable provider because it has this thing inside it which old TVs do not.

Oh and about your suggestion for the sub-forum for the Light House, I am not allowed to tell you the decision as it's private. If it's accepted, then I guess you'll see a new sub-forum at some point in the future. Sorry.
One thing I like about Wii Sports is when you play the bowling game and you let go of the ball when you're swinging it backwards. xD

I don't think so, Microsoft hasn't said or announced anything yet about being able to play 360 games in 3D. Nor do I really care for it, I don't have a 3DTV. What kind of TV do you play your PS3/Wii on btw? I play my 360 on my 52'' HDTV and it's a Sony brand.
Yeah, I remember when I first got my Wii. I was so excited to play Wii Tennis then it got boring after a little while. It would be better if you could actually move your character around but no. There have been some rumours on Project Natal being over $100 and that's ridiculous. Did you hear about being able to play your PS3 games in 3D? Sounds cool but 3D TVs are still expensive and new.
I'm only really worried about 2 things for both the Move and Project Natal: The games and the price. Knowing Microsoft (who over charges you for hard drives, and 360 accessories in general) they will probably make it over $100. IMO if they can show off some cool games and a decent price, then people will buy it. But for now, I'm waiting for new information on them at this year's E3. I'm not a big fan of motion controls lol, I'd rather sit on my *** on the coach with a controller and play my games. :p
I'm hoping to see improved graphics (Gamecube maybe?) on the 3DS and a whole bunch of games being shown off at Nintendo's event. Maybe a good online system too cause everyone knows that the Nintendo WFC is pretty bad. Also looking forward to Microsoft's Project Natal and Sony's Move thingmajig. I really only have 2 games which I want to buy in the future: Halo: Reach and Gears of War 3 for my 360.
Sometimes I wish I had a PS3 so I could play some of the exclusives. (i.e. MGS4, LBP and the Uncharted series etc.)

How is the PSN btw? All my friends say that XBL is better than PSN but I've only played a PS3 at stores. At least PSN is free and Wi-Fi is built into the PS3, unlike the 360. :(

I'm also looking forward to the 3DS but I'm going to wait till they release the next version of it (3DS Lite?) in a few years. Don't want to be screwed over as an early adopter as I did with my DS Phat. Thankfully, I upgraded to a DS Lite a few years back.
Yeah, I'm kind of a completionist when it comes to games. Like on the PS3, you guys have trophies, on the 360 we have achievements. I only have a few perfect games on the 360 though. (1000/1000 GS in CoD4/MW2 and 200/200 in Dash of destruction)
Yeah, they're definitely games which you should own. If memory serves, I actually have everything in Touched! done. (every mini-game high score beat) Took me forever. :p

The game "Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective" for the DS looks cool as well.
Twisted! might be hard to find these days because it's an old game and I don't think stores sell GBA games anymore. (not here anyways) You might find a copy of Touched! in stores but it's pretty old as well. Of course, you can always order them online or...via other ways. (not allowed to talk about it here)

Let's just say that you need a lot of patience to create mini-games in DIY. I have a short attention span so the game wasn't really for me. It would probably be a good choice to carry along on your long car trip, let me know what you think of the game!

Yeah, they walk you thought a lot of tutorials but I didn't feel like reading all of it so I gave up. :p
I own Twisted! (GBA) and Touched! (DS) You should check out the first one in the series because IMO the mini-games in that one are better and there are lots of different games to play. (Multi-player ones too!)

I played DIY but making mini-games isn't that fun and easy. You have to go over these long *** tutorials which bore you and have too much reading. But since you said that you're really intrigued in making your own mini-games, then I say "go right ahead!"

I think the developers said that 90% of the mini-games in DIY can be re-created by the user.
No problem. But it's ultimately up to the admins if they want to implement this.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions, they're always welcome! :)

Btw, you ever play the WarioWare games on the GBA/DS and Wii? They're way better than the Mario Party series.
Yeah, it sounds like a good idea to me. I'll bring it up in the Staffer Shack.
