I still advocate the original work. The words in the original songs are what the author felt were the right words. It might not have been perfect, but it's what they came up with at the time.

I can tell you, though, I've written a few poems and, not to toot my own horn, but they were pretty damn good. They were the best I could come up with at the time, but, after submitting them to an online ... display, for lack of a better word, one of the readers messaged me about some tiny tweaks that would improve the rhythm consitency of the final stanza of one of the poems.

I agreed with at least 75% if not 90% of the changes and put them through. Now, was this MY work? Well, technically still yes, it's just, at the time I originally submitted the works, I had not considered the changes that were suggested or I just got writer's block and couldn't think of the right way to phrase/word my lines. But, now, if I display my poetry again somewhere, I use the updated wording.

I would consider the reworking of songs often similiar: you have a good work already, but there are ways to improve it that you didn't consider or have time to think of before you released them, but, now that you have a second chance to release your work, you can release a polished up version of your songs with the changes you whish you had made before the first release. It's kind of like a patch for an online game. (something Brawl WISHES it had :( )

Alternatively you can look at it this way: you get to choose which version you like better for every song. Variety is the spice of life, and more choices is never a bad thing. As long as you're not going all "hipster" when you talk about which variant you prefer: "I liked ****** before it was even popular. You don't even know. The old version is so much better than this mainstream crap they changed it to" Yeah, that'd be lame.

A valid application. I accept.

Tofer, for whatever it's worth, I always enjoy your avatars.
Mainly because, well, Jake Gyllenhaal is a hunk.

Thanks Bel <3
But Hedge commented on how he had this pic of Jake that he liked and I decided to make it an avi.
Just for him.

If I make the same mistake about Hedge being a guy then mentally change the "he's" and "him's" to "she" and "her"

Hedge., how is my avatar?
not the photoshoot I was thinking of (the one I was thinking of was older) but since Jake's super duper cute, I most CERTAINLY approve ^_^

Hmm, an older one?
I have to look deeper for this one then.

I thought Beluina was a guy, and was horribly wrong.
I didn't want to make the same mistake.
But now I see you're a guy.

oh you "SEE" that I'm a male do you? well that sounds.... innapropriate for a public forum.

And, of course, it's more likely that I'd be a Gaymer than a female gamer anyway isn't it?

Well you said your name was Kyle
Last I saw girls didn't go by that name..
Kyle CAN be a girl's name. In fact, there's a girl with my same first AND last name. (I also know a gay guy with my same first and last name who works in Disney World)

Also, I saw your Zelda profile :p
Was I sexy? :p

You're guy, I know it.
Innapropriate? In what way?
Well if figured there is only one way to KNOW that someone is a guy... and since you said you SAW that I was a guy... well... you get it.

I stand corrected.

Was I sexy? :p
Astoundingly.

I see, well in that case.
Yes it was very inappropriate.

You bet your sweet booty you stand corrected! ;)

Astoundingly.
Oh honey, flattery will get you EVERYWHERE

Well, when I pretend that you ARE your avatar, then it suddenly becomes perfectly acceptable and appropriate.

Time for a quick Zelda boards mini poll:

How many here like this new skin better than the old Revolution?

Although I personally really like some aspects of this new skin I still have to say I'd use Revolution if it was an option, mostly because the neon colours, bright buttons and the huge exclamation marks are starting to hurt my eyes. Also, I miss seeing my avatar at the top of the page.

I use the smashlab skin so I don't see Vibrant on a regular like you guys, and I got used to some of the changes of not seeing revolution anymore before hand.

Hmm Revolution was really nice, but Vibrant has some good points to it. I'm not sure which I could say I like more though.

I changed my theme a while ago, so I have no idea what new skin are you talking about, and I'm too lazy to change my current one. =P
