The skin actually made my headache go away. I listen to the song every time.
I wanted to.... but I just couldn't turn down "How I roll" by britney spears. Call me gay, but..... wait, actually that's all there was to that sentence.

I think you made a mistake in that last post, Sonic.
You didn't mention that Friday.

On a different note, there are 2 smashers who already told the world it was "their birthday" today.
I choose not to believe you.

I actually somewhat like this yellow colour, and with all the great things happening to me lately even that annoying add-looking picture at the top of the page doesn't bother me!

Gurren Lagann gets even bigger. The Gurren Lagann in the 2nd movie is about 1000 times larger.
My brain refused to try to comprehend its size when they started using galaxies as throwing stars, so its no wonder I forgot the Gurren Lagann born when it absorbed the Big Bang.

Try to think of ONE mecha show that came out in the last 5 years that the average anime fan might have watched. Do not include anything with the words "Frontier", "00", or "Lagann" in them.
Strike witches is rather well-known, and apparently some label it as mecha anime. I personally don't think leg propellers and a gun are quite enough to be considered a mecha though...

But yeah, mecha anime just is destined to be a small market genre.

I can't recomend Code Geass, School Rumble or Higurashi no Naku Koro ni highly enough, however.
School Rumble has got to have one of the best male leads in any series ever. I'm proud to mention I have the pink collection DVD box of the series in my bookshelf.

There's also new series of Higurashi OVA series coming, which makes me very happy.

Lol. These censors are pretty hilarious, not gonna lie.
Still didn't beat the ones we had few years back, though.

LANDMASTER!!!!!
(the Black Plague one was hilarious, though)

I'm so jealous.

All our posts about the word filter look so silly now that the word filter is off . . . .

Agreed, Doesn't count.

Otherwise, shows with tanks would be considered mecha for the same reason. lol

Movies never live up to the original anyways. :c I think the only movie I've seen that was as good as the musical was A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Rosario is amazing, tho. <3

I don't like that they don't put all the songs/change the words to the songs in the movies.
well they frankly don't have TIME for all the songs. I mean, they don't even have time for all the story.

As for the changing of the words, theat can be irksome (they did that in phantom of the opera) because it doesn't always make sense. I mean sometimes the lyrics need to be changed to make sense with other changes made to adapt the story from stage to film.... as for other changes, I think it's just artistic decisions. Sometimes the lyricist just thinks the changes make the song better, other times the changes complement the singer's voice better or the original song may have had 2 solid options for lyrics in certain parts of a song so one gets chosen for the stage and the other for the film..... I think. Iunno, but sometimes the new lyrics are better.

If people have time to sit through Avatar for 2hours and 40 min, they can fit a musical into a film no problem. A show is usually about 2:30-3.

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to change an artist's work. I guess it's good publicity, but, I dunno, makes me feel jipped.
Either way, I buy soundtracks to original shows, and go watch the movies and shows, cuz I like musicals.

No johns. :]

sometimes the original artist is involved though and either approves the changes or makes them himself. what then?

I feel like most of the time, they wouldn't make changes for no reason. Sometimes plays get popular when nobody thought they would and the music in them is.... imperfect. And so when that musical gets a film adaptation, they do their best to improve the songs without majorly changing them. It can be hard to adjust to the new lyrics, and I'm sure the purests hate it, but the old lyrics aren't necessarily the BETTER ones.
