Speaking of final fantasy games... I WOULD KILL FOR ANOTHER PROPER CRYSTAL CHRONICLES! Something actually similar to the original. I loved that game. Just a year or so ago me and my friends finally played through it with our gbas (the only downfall of that game imo) and it was fantastic! Except when I accidentally unhinged my gba from the connector during an intense boss fight lol
I would like that so very much. make it online too. i never got to finish it, but i wish i did after hearing the final boss theme, its one of the best boss music i think

but RoF and EoT weren't too bad, i was addicted to RoF for a while. i havent played crystal bearers yet

Project M Zelda? I personally hate her. I feel like they just rushed her completely. And ugh, I can't stand her usmash. The SFX is just so annoying since she does it so fast. I also hate the fact that they swapped her voice SFX on Farore's Wind and Nayru's Love. Din's Fire also seems even more useless now than before. The delayed explosion was cool like the first time around, but then it's just dumb after that. And Transform is horrendously slow now.

Overall, I found Project M to be a huge disappointment. I will give them props on the retro stages though. Those came out really good. But yeah, that's my opinion so far. Maybe the full version will be better.

Did you know how to use her properly?

Extremely outdated, but examples (this didn't even have the grounded JC dins yet):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxw_0sXR8ds

Transform is slow on start-up to make consistency in the transformation time as its wii loading based. This makes it so you can act instantly after transform ends to make it so there is no inconsistency due to wii loading times.

Those timed Din's look good to me. It will take some getting used to I am sure. I might be playing this in the next few days so I'll tell you guys what I think of Zelda and the game over all.

I don't understand the SFX switch though lol. Maybe when I play it will make me feel empowered or something.

She has a lot of technical components to her now that might take some time to add to your game.

JCing the dins to then begina wavedash, airdodging out of her upB to use as a waveland, her nB cancels on landing with a hitbox, etc.

I didn't really care to learn to use her properly. I heavily disliked how she played on the surface, so that quickly bored me away. A friend of mine wants me to tryout Project M with him this weekend, so I'll see if my opinion changes after that, but I doubt it will.

The thing with Transform makes sense, however, that was the least of my worries with Zelda, seeing as how I don't really even use Sheik.

The timed Din's sounded good based on how Ninjalink described them the other day, but I found nothing special when I tried them out myself. It just seems super easy to avoid. Now, if there wasn't a giant blinking sparkle thing telling you a Din's was placed there, maybe it would be better.

The SFX switch was done cause that's how she was in Melee. Which I don't understand either. Farore's has a cool SFX while Nayru's is lame; yet the cool SFX is covered by a voice over...? Not sure what the Melee creators were thinking there...

Their's still hope for (stylized) relistic Skyward Sword graphics...

For those who liked TP's graphics over cell shading:
"Skyward Sword was originally intended to be released with the same style of art found in Twilight Princess. However, Miyamoto decided the Zelda team should go in another direction. Shigeru was a big fan of the cartoon-like style of The Wind Waker that he wanted to go in that direction again. Of course the graphics are not the same. While Skyward Sword's graphics resemble a cartoon to a degree, the style is based heavily on impressionistic art."
http://legendzelda.net/category/skyward-sword/
"Characteristics of Impressionist paintings include relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on the accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, the inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressionism
Example:

Keep in mind the few glimpses of Skyward Sword gameplay were early in development. The graphics will improve and are not mimicking Wind Waker's. SS graphics will not be as realistic as TP's but will hopefully not disappoint with lighting and beautiful stylization.

Hmm, well, that bunny in the picture looks way more realistic than the SS picture, but I guess it was still in early development. At this point I don't know what to expect. Cartoony realism is okay, but only up to a certain point. Hopefully they don't cross that point with Zelda.

I really don't care about graphics for that game as I think it's totally impossible it's going to be a bad game... But there's a something I want/wish/hope for that game... that Zelda stays as in TP!!! I don't like her that much in the blonde version :3

The cartoony graphics never bothered me on WindWaker. Of course, back then, there wasn't anything to compare the graphics to. OoT and MM both had the polygonal graphics, which, I guess were still more realistic than the WW ones, but still. The main thing I disliked about WW was all the sailing you had to do. That, and searching for the Triforce of Courage was highly annoying. I can't really imagine WW with like TP graphics, lol.

true... the game itself didn't seem as realistic as Twilight Princess. Even with the realistic graphics it wouldn't have seemed right without some other chganges

I agree on what you're saying about Zelda. Her Twilight Princess model has been her best one yet. I really hope she looks the same in SS.
Graphics are, indeed secondary to gameplay, but graphics do have some effect on gameplay. I mean I'd have liked windwaker better if it wasn't so cartoony :glare:
^^Yes and ^yes.

The SS picture must have been deleted.
Edit: It's back.

If only Din's was a normal projectile like Pit's arrows.

It'd be awesome. lol

As for Skyward Sword, I'm dissapointed they're delaying it.

I smell TP all over again.

E3, they'll announce a new console, and they'll put it on that as well. lol

All the character boards are dying.

& low tiers always get the worst of it 'cause nobody plays/cares about them. =X

It's kind of sad really.

It's painfully obvious in some of the Melee boards.

There was a period of like 2 weeks or so where there were no posts in the Pichu boards.

Wind Waker is my third favourite game in the series, after Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening.

Skyward Sword looks freaking amazing.

Well, at least it's supposidly coming out sometime this year. Unless the delay you're talking about involves it being pushed into 2012, in which case I'll be pissed. And a new console? I doubt it. There's too much hype for the 3DS atm.

Is it me...or do the Zelda boards look like they lack...substance?
Substance as in how?

They're still way more active than the character boards on AIB. There's only like 4 active boards over there, lol. Though, two of them are low tier boards: Link and Zelda.

The Melee Boards don't even exist over on AIB. It's ultra rare if someone posts there. So I'd say you guys are fine for the time being.

I thought 3DS was the new console/hand-held. ?

I try to keep low tier boards alive.
Its kinda dishearting. I think Mr. Game & Watch is the only higher tier character I like. Most I enjoy are mid and low tier...
I feel the same way.

The Peach boards are active oddly but because it has a lot of (not saying it.) Heck if you check and read all those posts on the general topic you'll know what I mean. I avoid their boards now. I don't have anything to say there. But hey as long as there are good people who post on the character boards of character I enjoy that is all that matters. Even if there aren't many.

Pika boards are hangin in there. PGD is active, and the Q&A and tourney results threads still get posts..... and people check PokeLab whenever I update it. Sometimes other random threads get a post or two.

But in general, I don't think there's much to talk about as far as metagame for most characters. :ohwell:

I haven't been on the Pikachu boards in a while now. Sorry for the noob question but what is PGD again? I don't touch tourney threads but I haven't been in a single tourney. I would most likely be looking like a fool there with no knowledge on the tourney guidelines. I never have time and they are hosted at awful times for me. PokeLab...hmm, I would be so clueless since I lost track of Pokemon after the original 151.

Meta game, I definitely don't touch that for good reasons too.

Their own group. However the 3DS and NGP both can run console-quality games........so the difference is becoming smaller and smaller.

PGD = Pikachu General Discussion, a.k.a. the social thread. I coulda swore you posted there before, but I guess not. o.o

& lol @original 151. XD PokeLab is the Brawl Pika research thread.

Also...... 3DS looks amazing, but it's gonna be so expensive. :( Definitely gonna have to wait a while and probably buy a used one.

Yes I have before. I seen you there. I haven't posted for a while lately.

Haha see. I didn't know that. I was assuming. I will check it out one day. XD

The 3DS is like 300 from what they are saying. I know the Gamestop here is allowing us to trade the other DS to help purchase it. I'm doing that. Ironic I haven't touched my DS because I was waiting for a chip for the DS.

You doubt the annoucement of a new console?

What's the Wii got left? Nothing really. Once Skyward Sword is released, everyone will play it for a bit, then get bored of it, and the Wii will be finished.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo realises this, as it's really the last (Nintendo) franchise that hasn't been represented on the Wii yet (SSBB and TP don't count. lol).

Though whether they release it (SS) on both consoles, I dunno.

The main reason they rolled TP over was because hardly anyone cared about the little purple box.

And money of course. Nice launch title, even if it is a port.
