If you can do a forward glide toss than glide tossing upwards is easy also. If you're C-Stick is set to "smashes" or "attack" than do what you would do for a regular glide toss but tilt the C-Stick up instead of sideways..

Instead of A, press the chosen direction on your c-stick. You can do a throw upwards, downwards, and behind you as well as in front.

lol I can't believe I never thought of that!

got another question: I've experimented on a chaingrab on a mario computer. It's basically bthrow...dashgrab....bthrow....repeat...

Is this a true chaingrab?

Does Zero suit samus have one of the worst grabs in the game?
It's a good grab if you hit with it...cause this can lead to many combo opportunities, but it sucks if it doesn't hit. I dunno if it's the worse, but it's pretty close the worse...if not THE worse...

The grab has to be used completely differently than a normal grab. It is used to shieldgrab only against attacks with either a lot of range or a lot of hit-lag. Because of this ,however, it can be used in some nice ways for instance I realized she can shieldgrab Ike's F-air even at about its furthest distance.

Besides that, it is good for it's range and a lot of the time most players won't react in time to perfectly punish a missed grab (although you WILL get punished at least a bit). It's good to throw in one in a while.

Also, the pivot grab has some cool uses as well such as if you're running away and expect the opponent to land next to you from the air.

Sess made me realize something, that I should have a long time ago. I'm not sure if Sess meant to do this but it was interesting.

I've cancelled ZSS' down B attack off the edges of platforms. She does the attack and immediately slides off of the platform which can be pretty useful.

Sess did this one time at the edge of the stage rather than a platform and his ZSS grabbed the edge. I thought this could be a potentially useful tactic.

I've done that. I don't know how useful it is. It's certainly worth it to know where and when you'd be able to edge cancel the attack. I've been working on learning it, but there are a lot of variables to it.

Yeah, I think that's good. Host a game around that time and I'll join.

To the guy that asked how to survive longer, look for my survival thread which I'm too lazy to pull up for you. It should be on the first page.

Just to point out, everyone called her Zamus since the original Brawl trailer.
And all the zss mains that are regulars here call her zss now. That's the point I'm making, people come in here calling her "zamus" because that's what people do outside of this char spec forum.

I actually hate when people call her Zamus, but it's not really a big deal lol. And I just find it weird that so many people say "ZZS" . It's even on the title of my matches against Atomsk o_O

It's not even that you called her Zamus. I'm fine with that, because most of the community calls her that, no matter how much I wish they wouldn't. But Zero Suit Samus does NOT form the acronym ZZS. No matter how many Yakov Smirnoff jokes you want to make, being unable to spell, "Zero Zoot Samus" references, it will NEVER be ZZS. NEVER.

Holy jesus our Q&A thread has degenerated into filth. I feel that I must ask a question just to revive the sanctity...

All ZSS mains: How do you edgeguard?

I've been thinking about this for some time, as I'm trying to get down my own style. And of course, the best way to invent your own style, is to steal others and modify it! d:

Anywho, so when you edgeguard, do you jump out after your opponent? Do you charge D-Smashes? And when they grab the ledge, what do you do? Do you retreating side-b? Do you still charge D-Smashes? Shield?

Answer away!

I go off the stage the majority of the time and try to create a wall where they have almost no way past me. Sometimes I boost myself with up B while trying to hit them with that, then down B attack towards the stage, and then throw out a side-B or B-air. Atomsk commented when I did that to Ksizzle one time "That was gay Snake. He had to way to escape." XD
