What is this down-b footstool trick I keep hearing about?

Oh, and to the guy who asked for the best stage against Samus, Samus' best stage is arguably Battlefield. We Samus mainers love platforms, so I wouldn't recommend Battlefield as a counterpick.

During the Down B, ZSS is able to do a footstool where she curls up into a ball. She can move across the whole stage with this and she can footstool both characters and items with it at any time. The hitbox is also very broken, and she can it while she's basically off to the side of a character/item. Also, if you up B at the start of it you DO get a boost. Last I should mention that you can interrupt the footstool while still keeping the momentum from it. So, you can do something like shoot a paralzyer shot while flying across the stage.

Battlefield is a good stage for ZSS usually, exept against certain characters such as Metaknight. I'm not sure if it is more helpful for Samus than for her or not. I can't think of a better stage to use against her though. What is a bad stage for Samus? I'm thinking Brinstar might be a good choice.

Samus and Zamus tend to be good and bad on most of the same stages imo, except Lylat Cruise, which is bad for ZSS but good for Samus. Jungle Japes and Corneria are awful because the ledges screw up zairs, but the ledges screw up ZSS's side-b and up-b attacks. I can't really think of stages where Zamus dominates Samus, but I don't have much ZSS experience yet.

I'm thinking Luigi's Mansion possibly. I have a hard time playing Samus there due to the ceiling screwing up my zair and missile cancels. I don't know about ZSS's performance on that stage, but she's probably better than Samus on that stage.

I'm still going with Yoshi's Story for a stage that would be a good ZSS CP against Samus. Samus isn't bad on it, but ZSS is better on it.

I, myself am good a final destination. It's my favorite stage. Then battlefield and then smashville. But I'm good with any character on those stages.

Why Yoshi's Story? If it's for the platform I think that Battlefield would yield a greater advantage to ZSS.

It's more the nature of the platform. Battlefield's platforms yeild a surprising number of paths for missiles to go through. However when Yoshi's Story's platform tilts, especially if it's tilting toward Samus, it's practically a wall. Samus can't really spam through it, and all she has is Zair, and I feel like that's less trouble than it would seem if you know to expect it and just PS it. It's certainly easier to navigate than double missiles.

Then, once you've got Samus either in a combo or on the run, she's in trouble.

Nah i think the best is Yoshi Island, because actually samus is very hard to ko, and it will be easier and a small stage, and more a quite long platform and small distance to find is nice against projectiles.

What's ZSS's worst stage? Like which one would you ban in tournaments?
I think it depends more on the character you are facing. ZSS is very versatile when it comes to stage picks. She fairs well on all of the neutrals as stated above and there is not many counterpicks that hurts her tremendously. If i had to chose, for some reason i despise castle siege, i have no idea why. I just do.
Edit: Maybe rainbow cruise would be good to ban because some of the ledges cant be tethered.

Great, thanks... except the cars on Port Town Aero Drive come at fixed intervals so you can avoid it. Still seems terrible for ZSS though.

The problem is, you might not know the main of your opponent when picking bans unless you scouted them out or know them.

I guess what I really want to know is how bad is Rainbow Cruise against MK? Would Skyworld or Jungle Japes or something hurt you more? ZSS seems like one of the few characters that wouldn't get manhandled by MK there.

I almost always ban Japes. Maybe Orpheon, but not very often. Maybe I should start taking DK more seriously, and CP him if people take me to Japes. That would certainly open up other stages that I don't like to play on.

6. Grammar and spelling: Spelling and grammar are important functions of the English language. Use comma's and period's. Capitalize where appropriate. And don't post crap like "d00d if u r gunuh uze dis khar jo ned 2 doo stuf kplztx"
_ _ _ _ _ _ _

Oh, and by the way, do any of you guys have a good way to spike with ZSS's up-b??
Up B spikes better (it seems. *correct me if I'm wrong*) if you do a RAR to upB spike...

Yea ive been reading about all this stuff about how you can SDI out of MKs F and B aerials. I dont think you would have enough time to retaliate with side-b but Ill have to try it whenever I find a decent MK.

Alright, some of these may or may not have been answered already, but I'm just going to ask anyway because honestly using this website's search system is a pain.

Question 1: ZSS's A-combo--except for a few characters like G&W--is absolutely useless, isn't it? I read suggestions to do a jab, jab cancel, and a tilt, but even then your opponent can still shield the tilt and punish you if they're a decent player. So the only use for it that I can see is if your opponent is too fast and up in your face that you can't retaliate with a tilt, so you A-combo your first two jabs and then roll/jump away to get spacing.

Question 2: Dsmash Dsmash Up+B. It's never a guaranteed combo, is it? I've tried it on my friend at every percent, and he can just DI to the left or right easily. I barely even try it anymore--I just lead into a fair or bair instead.

Question 3: Is there a set chance that ZSS's ftilt will trip her opponent? Do the angles make a difference (in trip %, not damage or knockback)?

1) It's not useless. Against a lot of characters if you keep timing it just right you can even interrupt a shield grab with another jab combo. If not a d-tilt usually spaces you away from a grab.

2) It's not a guaranteed combo, but it's still a nice set up if you're a smart and have quick reflexes. You can tech chase grab if you expect a tech. Or if you think they'll miss their tech then go for the d-smash. (if they land standing up they do have time to shield this though). You can also try an up tilt that has a good chance of hitting if they DI either way. Oh and if they're at low percents and it won't knock them down you can sometimes do another up-B if they don't DI too far.

3) The only one that is a real tripping move is if you tilt it downwards. It works a decent amount of the time. If they don't trip too far you can d-tilt them out of it. I like to tech chase grab a trip a lot as well.

Hey, guys. I know this is random but I just figured out that when you use ZSS's down-b you can edge grab off a wall to get extra height. Idk if you knew this but Just trying to help.

1: like Snakeee said, it's not useless, this question was asked a while back, here's my answer: http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=5478916&postcount=263

2: Nope, I do F-Airs up to around 130%, and then B-Airs when I know it'll KO.

3: I dunno if it's a set chance that it will trip, but I've heard theories that the lower the knockback (lower the percent) the higher the chance to trip (this would also mean highly degenerated f-tilts would have better chances of tripping AND would trip for longer). It seems reasonable. As for the exact percents (in training mode), FF-tilt and FU-tilt will both trip until 55% and FD-tilt will trip until 30%. (tested in my thread, here: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=197763)

Good questions btw.

I hope it works. If not, what is the most effective retaliation? Neutral B?
