Also White Zelda.

that midna **** doesn't count. real melee or bust. whoever hacked that wii obviously didn't understand **** or they never would have replaced the blue.

One day, you will realize the power of RED.

One day..
Hey do you still play? Try to come to the next Merced tournament (assuming you didn't move again or something lol). It should be sometime this month I think. I'll show you the power of blue zelda (AKA the TRUTH)

I was going to play blue Zelda yesterday, but then I said, "Nah," and went back to green. Obviously, I have problems.

Yeah, but my Zelda pwns.

Or do you mean that my being a Peach main is why I have problems? Cause you might be right.

I only use white Peach, actually. Green is pretty nice, and pink (to me) is kinda boring. Most Peaches go pink. I don't mind blue, either. Daisy is really ugly, though. I mean...REALLY ugly.

I wonder when Zeldas realized that blue was the only way to go...

Nothing. You both decide to commit double suicide for being completely pathetic nerds with nothing better to do than Zelda dittos. :troll:

I know when it was, roughly when MOW started spamming that picking blue was best. I was already picking blue so I jumped on the bandwagon... Then I think lake also just so happened to play blue so... There you have it hard to argue against blue when it was like just us 3 in here for a year lol. I believe thats how it started.

I was the undisputed best player of the character for years and a lot of people asked me for advice so i told them to pick blue.

it used to be an unwritten rule that the best player of a char got color priority, and no one has taken blue from me yet so when i play another zelda i still get blue first.

You sure that wasn't me copping out going high tier?

I don't think I have vids up of me switching back and forth.

When I win game 1 of a set with zelda, then my opponent cps me with some hardcounter like sheik, I always feel weird during the next game when I start out as sheik instead of zelda without announcing i'm gonna be using her instead. But I don't really feel bad about it though because anytime anyone picks zelda normally it's assumed that they're gonna use sheik.

Speaking of that, I love how when I play against someone for the first time they always assume I'm gonna go sheik (naturally). I love how a player will go deep into thought, trying to recall everything he can about the sheik matchup. Then the game starts. I dash dance for 5 seconds to indicate that I in fact did not forget to hold A while they just stand there and wait for the transformation. Then they get a 'wow, i wasn't expecting this / wow, this guy sucks' look on their face. Then they lose.

Actual good players don't really do any of these things however. They don't need to recall stuff about the matchup. They assume you're going sheik, but when you end up staying as zelda they're unphased and **** you by abusing the things everyone should abuse about that matchup.

Melee is too good

@Devilray:

Closest thing I remember to doing that is. Vs Ice climbers I sometimes change to standard shiek when fighting only 1 climber. I play Zelda against both of them.

Or when someone tries to counter pick my zelda with Falcon. depending on my mood I'll just hold A. At pound 5 this happened. A guy asked his friend "Yo, what counters Zelda?" his friend replied, "Captain Falcon"

So he chooses captain falcon counter pick... I hold A... then there is...

"wtf? You can't counter pick my counter pick!"

Huh, I do that sometimes too actually. I was kinda wondering if I was the only one.

i'd rather stay zelda vs one climber personally, popo can still CG and edge guard sheik decently well.

Yeah I was gonna mention the dthrow cg that popo has against sheik. I don't switch very often because of that fact, but I'll still do it sometimes (depending on what percents me and my opponent are at/ what stage it's on)

I never said it was a good idea. I'm just stating the only time I ever remember doing it was to them in the past.

because someone was trying to say they saw a vid of me doing it lol.

I almost never change back and forth.

I might as well stick to 1 character.

If I want to win pick shiek.

IF I want to test my Zelda.. Stay zelda.

Switching doesn't get you either result. I don't get to test my zelda, I wasted time losing when I coulda been shiek to begin with.

Horrible strategy. Understand that if your strategy isn't working, there's no shame in switching strategies. I change all the freaking time, including switching to sheik to recover vs falco and other fun stuff like that.

I'm.. I will cop out and go sheik if I have to but if I expected that outcome, I should've just been sheik to begin with. That's all I'm saying I think you misunderstand me

Thank you Based Mimi
It's just best to secondary Sheik if you can't handle fighting against her. This way you won't have to worry about getting CP'd. Zelda mains are fortunate that we have this luxury. I've tried picking up Fox and Falco to fight Sheik and I've come to the conclusion that it really is the safest bet to secondary Sheik. Despite the ditto being very lame.

:) I didn't think of that. Yeah, Zelda can just down B if we see a Sheik on the screen. Unless they want to try to mindgame us into thinking they're going Zelda.

Having the ability to switch characters mid game is one of the reasons I started playing zelda way back when I was new to melee. Ironically I don't switch much though, even though I'd be climbing the tier list considerably by doing it.

When I don't use zelda for the sheik matchup I usually go falco, although sheik dittos are pretty enjoyable for me too actually.

I remember the first time I used Zelda against a Sheik. It was pretty fun.

I remember the second match. It was less fun, but still enjoyable.

I remember the third match, after he'd figured out the Zelda game. It was NOT fun anymore. Luckily, I have a Fox for that (cause I like playing Fox against Sheik a lot).
