The videos are separated by the opponents character of choice and said characters are listed in alphabetical order. Below the archive is the critique section. Watch and if you so choose post some feedback for the players. Simple enough.

If you wish to post videos to be added to the thread please observe the following rules.
1. Please give me the date the match(es) took place.
2. State wether they are friendlies or tournament matches. If the matches are WIFI matches please be sure to state so.
3. Give the names of your opponents and the characters they used. If there is no name for the opponent(s) they will be labeled as UNIDENTIFIED PLAYER.
4. Please state clearly wether you wish for the matches to be critiqued or to be added to the archive only.

Wow, I actually had the draft for the video thread made but I was just getting through some videos now. Oh well, at least someone has it going.

I would make these suggestions though:
- list the videos by character matchups
- I assume you are going to do this but label who is playing what characters in the videos and where they are for a stage.
- try to keep your videos to tournament vidz or worthy friendly battles. don't blindly put up videos just because they are videos.

This is my opinion and what I was going to be aiming for when I put up my thread (probably this weekend) but since you have yours up first we can just roll with this one.

Lol, I was thinking about making a topic asking if anyone was planning on making one.....but I was like nahh that sounds gay.

Ya, I plan to do all of those things.....this was just a crude draft that I put up in a hurry. I'm going to sort through all of these and label them within the coming week.

Since you already have videos gathered, perhaps you could post them and i'll add them to the original post? I plan to look for more but any help would be greatly appreciated.

The few matches I listed I have not really had a chance to watch, but this is my stockpile of Zelda videos or places to get videos. I will gladly help go through them as I am trying to archive as many of them as I can.

I will soon be putting up some of my own though I do not believe I am one of the better Zeldas (yet). I face one of the best ROB's on the east coast (JCaesar) and we train together, so I can readily put up videos for that matchup.

Outside of that, I am still putting together the list of Zelda tourney players so that will lead to more videos.

Also, Zeldas are supposed to stick together, so I don't care so much who got the video thread up so much as we have one to bank on. ROB board's video thread is run by JCaesar, and I modeled my suggestions around his. It turned out their thread is now the most posted in thread on their boards because they use it as general chat, matchup, etc discussion.

I was going to ask you about the tourney list concerning yourself. You've been added.

Yeah, I was talking about the Zelda community with a friend about how there isn't that much life in a lot of threads. If it wasn't for the matchup thread, we wouldn't really have too many that were posted in often. It seems like we are going somewhere though with the new stage thread and now video thread, so here's to bringing Zelda to her full potential.

Like Bandit said, I run the ROB video thread which (IMO) is the best video thread on all of Smashboards. Feel free to look at it and steal whatever ideas you want (link in my sig).

Bandit is my training partner/best friend and I'll do my best to train him to pro Zelda level, with some vids recorded along the way. He will have a lot of experience vs ROB and Wario.

Let me suggest this. If you have any videos you feel will help better Zelda then I would post them. Marsulas (if not the community) would tell you whether or not the video is a good vid to watch for other players. Part of this thread is sharing everyone's playing style, and the more videos we get the better. I know in the ROB video thread (I hang out there a good bit) people submit videos all the time and they still get watched, but they may not make it onto the main page.

The only possible way to find vids of me would be to check DM's stuff because it's possible that he might upload vids of me playing if I ever do good at a tournament (maybe he'll post the video of him destroying me last weekend, hehehe).

When are we gonna see some vids of your own Zelda, Marsulas?

As of right now I have no means of getting some vids up on the web. I could send somebody some replays if they want to put them up for me but they would have to be two stock since I don't use the code for over three minute replays.

I know it's kinda weird becuase I act like I know what i'm talking about and everything when no one even has any clue who I am

@Red Bandit: You can add me to the tournament players. I have not had an easy time finding tournaments in Tampa and I guess it would require me having to drive to Orlando a lot. Otherwise, I've been in three tourneys and placed very well since I mix up Zelda and Sheik a lot.

That brings up a question, when the videos begin to get organized, how will the vids that use both Zelda and Sheik be organized? By matchup or by occurance? Just wondering lol.

You bring up a good question. This is the Zelda video thread, so i'm assuming most of you want to have Zelda as the primary character in the match. I would have no problem making it into a Zelda/Sheik thread..........but it wuld be up to the community.

I need your guys' opinions; should this be strictly Zelda matches, Zelda + Zelda/Sheik matches, or even just straight Sheik matches. The Sheik boards currently don't have a video thread either.

I will add you to the list. Are you going to C3? For some reason, I thought I saw you might be going (I just found the message, I confused you with ProBrawler but either way are you going?). Even though it is not too far from where I am, I have some family stuff that day and won't be going but my best friend JCaesar (ROB) will be there hanging out. I have informed him to look for Zelda users so we can try to get some videos from the tourney.

I will throw in my 2 cents about sheik/zelda users. If the thread is split into character matchups, then it could simply be noted that you were "Sheik/Zelda" in the match. Personally, I have no problem with people who play a hybrid being in the videos because I know I would like to get my sheik to a point where I could use her in tourney for certain matchups.

It is doing FW on the ground or onto the ground to travel different distances and reappear without the usual lag. If you are FD and you use FW while standing in the middle of FD, you will travel across the ground and appear without lag if you point somewhere between straight to the side and down. Depending on the angle you choose is how far you will go.

I feel like I am not explaining it well so I'll try this too:
If you use FW and use the following directions:
Down - You reappear in place
Down and slightly right - You travel a short distance
Right and slightly down - You travel a medium distance
Right - You travel a long distance

There are more directions than those but you can try it out with those. You will start to see what I mean if you try it. Essentially, it is a spacing tool and mindgame tactic.

Updated the first post. I will be going through these vids in the future and choose the ones that are worthy of the front page, currently I just put all the vids up to at least get this thing started. Of course I will label all of the videos and eventually even have small recaps on the vids. I will also put up a Hall-of-Fame........so nominations will be accepted.

I could see this thread as the first post being straight Zelda vids, the second would be a hybrid section, and the third section would be straight Sheik vids.........would this be ok with everyone?
