i'm just going to list my biggest ones, chronologically. treating this post like a journal entry i guess, but i have some cool stuff.

getting smash the christmas it comes out, reading the instruction manual and theoretically discover wavedashing. testing it out, wow, i suck at jumping with up, oh well, i'm sure it will get popular soon

>_> (true story.)

having my friend (as falcon) powershield a fully charged shot at point blank range and then jc grab me before i go anywhere (we felt like we broke the game-human physical barrier for a second)

getting perfect 2-0s in my pools at the first PAX brawl tournament with olimar, then instantly losing to a meta knight (i knew it would happen - whatever, it's brawl)

beating everyone who played me in smash64... one-handed.

getting a 'wtf?!' moment out of m2k with samus' uair against his marth's counter (haha statsman, i know samus' footboxes)

my most legendary though is, first time playing isai, tournament match, he goes pikachu, i pick falcon, and i get first hit and then first kill with a dair spike falcon punch. yeah... i felt pretty cool for a moment.

best though was realizing how wrapped up my identity was in stuff and then breaking free from all that, allowing me to 'conquer' smash in a way i couldn't before, which led to me getting back together with a really close friend of mine (smash-related), and then getting rid of all my videogames.

(not saying smash is bad. but it's (far-)served its purpose now. and so i basically resolved to never play it again.)

alright.. i think that's okay to say.

Oh, you're that Einhander guy?

I'm a fan, lol. We should meet up and play high-stakes 1-handed 64 MM's

There was this one night The Lake and I stayed up for like three hours, both using jiggly puff on Final Destination, one of us would hold our shield in until it broke and the other tried to rest the other before we died off the top from said broken shield.

we never actually got it, but if we did, I am pretty sure that would make us the best smashers of all TIEM
You never got it because you are invincible after a shield break. >.>

FC Diamond.

That venue. That venue was the best venue in all of venues. That venue ****in owned.
Also, the kishes know how to run a tournament. It makes me warm and giddy inside thinking about that tournament.

Also Kwan and I beat Shizwiz + Nyte in first round teams (with pikachu + DK) and still failed to make it out of that pool. Was memorable.

hey, i'm not against having some fun with people under special circumstances. otherwise i'm being legalistic about my own resolves. i do weigh the considerations more sharply though.

fair of you to point it out though, heh.

edit: (for example) i'm still excited about video-creation as a form of creative exploration. i'm adverse to playing it, but the game still embodies other concepts.

edit 2: plus the chances of him coming here are very low. nothing against illinois...

Oh, okay, cool. I just wasn't sure if you had started playing again or what, because the way you said "resolved" and "never" made me think it was totally absolute (similar to the way recovering addicts don't even partake in moderation, hahaha). By the way, I just watched your Einhander combo video and it's pretty neat (I don't play 64 though).

I'd say ROM2. My first real tournament and well the whole thing. From staying up until 7AM at DJ's house and pulling of a Wombo Combo with a Random Zelda in team friendlies. To Almost making it out of pulls but then not because I was a scrub lol. All in All it was great. Zenith was pretty good too. Hanging out with the Project M team and such. Made it out of Pools because I was not a scrub but then getting eliminated to go play more Project M...LOL Priceless.

I had been searching for my historical first tourney win in bracket, after placing decently in pools but getting 0-2'd to an early exit. Technically I got a win in a previous tournament's doubles bracket, but I wanted that singles win.

At the next tourney, I made it into bracket was about halfway through the first match. My friends all gathered and got SUPER hype for me as I won 2-1 and finally 'conquered my demons', as one friend put it. Felt super good man

My favorite moment in Smash - I think - was at Pound 3 crews. It was Northeast vs. Midwest. It was just such a fun crew battle to watch.

When Tec0 came in won it, everyone exploded. It was great.

I remember watching this! Your set vs silentwolf was pretty interesting too (this was the same tournament right?).

This one time at No Johns Twebb and I teamed and we did this AMAZING combo I was falcon and he was fox on stadium and i can't remember exactly what it was but it was something like double knee, (fox) neutral air, (falcon) neutral air, off the stage (fox) up air (falcon) spike (fox) shine (falcon) falcon punch. Was so pissed when we realized he forgot to turn recording on =[

I came in because I saw Sliq's name. I MISS THE MIDWEST.

Probably beating DieSuperFly by 1% in a timeout at Flame of Bowser 3. Then he went out and kicked a tree, but not because he was mad. Teams, the MLG 2005 run, though I think our Chicago 2006 run was actually better.

Two of many, both wins and losses, I loved this game.

on the phone with needy asian girl brother sitting on the couch playing Kingdom Hearts II on the adjacent TV I'm playing Fox I get off a 10-hit combo involving dtilt, bair, fair, dair and soft falling uair into fsmash for kill and i go ****ing nuts and throw my phone into the air and it lands on the PS2 popping open the disc cover and turning off my brother's game of KH2 which he did not save so he gets up all pissed and screaming so we're both screaming going wild and then a bear come in and we both bears and went to your mom's house and had bear sex.
This guy has never had anything productive to say

Story 1:
Back in like 2004 (hella back) when I didn't know crap about advance techniques (L-cancelling aside) I was facing two friends in a 2 vs 1. I was down to 1 stock, and my friends had 2 stocks each. I pull off an epic comeback, and finish off my one friends. It's one on one, Captain Falcon vs. Link. In the 1 on 1 I take over. I go from tech chasing the heck out of him with a Captain Falcon down air to juggling him like crazy. I juggle him for a while, but he just won't die.

He lands a few shots while I juggle him, which makes me anxious. I don't want to lose after a comeback. In a moment of madness, I do crazy stuffs. I decided to pull out a Falcon Punch, I unplug his controller, and I yell "F***ING MINDGAMES, SON!!!" at the same time. It was so epic and random that we laughed about it for at least an hour! Good times!

Story 2:
A recent moment I had that was epic was in a friendlies match at a tournament I wracked up over 300% on this Sheik player on Hyrule Temple. She's camping under the stage, and I whack her with an up air, and land a perfectly timed Warlock Punch. She goes up, gets stuck on the roof of the bottom area of Hyrule Temple, stays on it and curls right all the way to the cliff (right under where that pillar is), freezes, curls left on the roof, goes through that passable bridge, flies off the stage, stays in the bubble screen for at least 5 seconds, has bad DI due to the high damage percentage, and barely recovers at the bottom of Hyrule Temple. It was the most unbelievable physics I have ever seen. She was nearing 400% and she was still alive.

The match then times out, we go to Sudden Death, and she wins thanks to a bunch of bomb-ombs hitting me around like a pinball. At the end I got stuck in the ground for a few seconds from a bomb-omb hitting me straight down after one hit me straight up. After I stop being stuck I shoot up about as fast as you can imagine above the screen and die as if a UFO zapped me up. The whole thing was awesome, even if I lost. Friggen mad damage percentage, which equals some mad physics issues, which equals mad Melee hype!

Once in a random teams friendly me and my partner got mindgamed into killing ourselves.

It was on Corneria. Me a falcon, my partner a ganon, against these two foxes. and everyone had one stock. We kill one of the foxes. And the remaining fox players says.. "well F this" and starts running to the left side of the stage. And me and my partner BOTH start chasing him. He jumps off and over Bs to the guns and we BOTH whiff on dairs and kill ourselves.

No moment was more hype.
