When I was a wee Yoshi, still playing Wifi and using the Wii-Chuck, I had a setup for it. I had C set to jump, Down D-Pad set to jump, and A for attack. So what I would do was press C with my left hand and then slide my right thumb from the D pad to the A button. It might be the best set up for it on Wii-chuck, but I don't play it anymore, so I can't really say for sure.

For reference, my full controls were:

Tap Jump Off
Shake Smash Off
Z - Shield
C - Jump
Up D-Pad - Usmash
Side D-pad - Grab
Down D-pad - Jump
A - Attack
B - Special
1 - Taunt
2 - Taunt

I don't really think C-stick (or Dpad) for Fsmash is really necessary, so I dropped it in favor of grab, since I think it's more important to have easy grab access.

Its not really Fsmash its just the flexibility of side aerials

Eh, I don't think Yoshi really requires too much flexibility with them, either. We're not really a character that prefers to retreat Fair or Bair as a wall.

True, good point. Well I went and hooked up my GC controller and tried scatz's DR technique and found it decently consistant. Problem is that, I'm used to wii-chuck so GC controller is confusing for me unfortunately.

If you just play matches against the CPU for like, an hour, using the GCC, you'll be fine. I ended up making the switch in about that time.

Moving on, here's my did you know segment.

Did you know that while you can use downB at the ledge to grab it, you can cancel the downB startup to instantly grab the ledge. This can be used to not only help recovering (in extreme circumstances), but possibly help in edgeguarding.

Doing this one at a time just to promote discussion and out of the box strategies.

It's easy to recover with that, but it's releasing from the ledge and regrabbing like using the cancel that's difficult >_>

I knew about the auto snap onto the ledge, but doing that has been a tad difficult for me. Mostly cause in order to do it you have to tap Down as carefully as possible, I find myself doing egg roll too often when clicking down softly.

Out of 5/10 times I'd get it right, other times I either do regular DownB or egg roll.

That feels awkward for my controls since X is my special. I'd have to claw or play like an arcade stick to get it.

Technically, you have to hit down + B on the same frame to achieve it. If you're egg rolling from attempting to downB, then we have other problems going on. There's only one exception to eggrolling though.

Stuff that I've listed has been information we've already past through the years. I'm either rekindling the thought process for it, or trying to make someone get risky and try to find ways to make it work.
