Great, we're back.
This backround is a little confusing, but I'll get used to it. Maybe I'm just looking at things too quickly.

Tap Jump limits your gameplay mainly in that it makes you more limited when recovering. With tap jump on, you can't Egg Toss before double jumping to recover, making your recovery easier to track and thus be edgeguarded. It also makes Edge Canceled Eggs significantly more risky to do, because getting hit during them means you'll be offstage with no jump.

You know, I've always wondered why other Yoshi's could do that and I couldn't for no reason, I thought I was missing something.
So the game doesn't completely hate me. : D

What... Happened to Smashboards? Been gone to long... I suppose... Well, congratulations Delta for learning Dr! I haven't been playing brawl... busy in life's work. I don't know how many times I would preach to you guys about learning Dr. Delta, grab release mk then dr then do a up tilt, down tilt, side tilt, and my favorite Yoshi bomb. Get the timing down on when to use Dr once mk exits out of your mouth. You can dr on any platforms, and that means you can platform cancel Learn your Up B wave bounces. Learn your Neutral B wave bounces. Another thing that I do when I play others is trick them into thinking I'm going to jump. When the opponent sees that picture of Yoshis jump double. He will think your coming up, and the next thing is a Forward smash. Once you master dr Delta or anyone. The creativity will start to come in. I always wanted to finish my combo video... never did... I never will now that I'm grown up in life. College, work, family issues (at times, and so on) Soon video games will be gone from my life.... I need to start coming in here more often xD haha. Don't want to miss any more changes going on here. At least the title is still the same Also, their is more possibilities in using dr when catching bananas. I forgot them... (Been a while) I remember one I would use, and that's. When you have a banana in your hand and you do a egg throw on the edge. Dr or (Dragonic Reverse) to cancel the ledge and glide toss immediately to continue what ever you want to do next. I'm not being aggro, but I will say this, and its the truth. I know everything about yoshi, and other things you guys haven't even taken the thought to realize. Yoshi can win mks and snakes, but not with simple, and basic techs. It involves advanced, and higher placement of techs. You don't have to be flashy If that's what your wondering. Just learn it, and see if it will help you. If it doesn't for now. Then save it, and when you need it like grabbing a banana. Then you will use it. "You can never have enough knowledge. If you don't need it now, you will need it later." Actually... I didn't learn it that way. I learned it the old fashion way. (double Y and a aerial to a half forward circle on the analog stick) I never thought of learning Scatz way... It was well... dumb... I just did It that way, but I have a question sir. It took me around a month and a half to fully master dr (after I was banned from aib...) How long did It take you to dr with Scatz way? As soon as I tried it... I quit and went back to my old way. Some people don't have that snap reaction mind aspect. I played Melee and If you can learn techs from Melee. Brawl is cake. You should just help the ones that need help.

You can still Egg Toss with tap jump on. You just have to use precision. Can't mash it out like everything else in Smash.

Anyways, you can call my method whatever you want, but it's the most successful one for me while keeping my skills in other aspects for Yoshi's techs. Not only that, but I highly doubt people are as consistent to using DR as I've been able to show.

Lastly, I doubt anyone has mastered DR.

Hey guys, one thing I've been trying to do is b-reverse/wavebounce/ whatever it is called when your going left and then switch the momentum going right egglay from the edge. If you time it right you can get back up, however, timing it wrong will suicide you almost instantly; egg roll, keep going left and not able to get back to the ledge, get hit out of it and now off stage with no double jump, etc. Do you guys think it is viable or too risky to be used seriously?

I think it's a viable option. I sometimes use it as a bait. Run off the stage with a b- reversal then DJ b reverse back onto the stage and egg lay a chasing opponent by doing so. Also, it can be used as a different way to get back onto the stage from the ledge. Just know that this is one of those things you have to FEEL or KNOW will work in the given situation. Don't just do it because you know It can happen and might work since its really risky. If you're hit out of it, don't panic just yet, you're not even close to dead yet unless you're DI'ing terribly. It's a good option if you don't mess up the input, which shouldn't happen in the first place.

Problem with it is not only the death consequence, but also with your opponent timing a spotdodge. Egglay makes us safe when we use it to move away most of the time, but since we'll be moving forward, they can punish for a miss.

I've done more dr things than you can imagine. Example: Did a dr to platform cancel battlefield. My friend didn't know... he panic-ed and well air dodged.I then did a forward smash... After I left Aib. I wanted revenge on those people that beat me. So I worked hard... mastered everything, and always wanted to return to beat those Aib punks. Beating Raptor wasn't hard (No disrespect) My point is I'm beyond strong now... well not exactly. After a while I'd be messaging mods to let me back in Aib... nothing... after a while I grew tried of this feud and fight so I quit brawl for a whole year. After a while I returned to brawl again, but I got life work as well. (So I can't continue to keep my skill under control) Then after 2012 I made peace with all, and 2013 is the time I get back my yoshi tech skill back. Their you have it Scatz. Be blessed brethrens! In all honesty I don't bother reading GYK's post cause of how poorly constructed it is. But I'll just say Scatz has done more than just pound us in the head and tell us to do DR. He's made videos explaining it and such. He just removed almost everything back in 09 that he made, including that video and his combo video.

Lmao. I've done more than what you can say with DR. Like Slush said, I've removed my past work. My matches have shown my use and experience with DR. While I admit I don't have it mastered (and will probably never be able to due to lack of motivation), I know a lot about it's uses, and have either shown others or explained it. We found out about DR platform canceling when platform cancel became popular here. Nearly everyone here (mostly OG Yoshis) has constantly told me that DR is a useless tech and that I should just stop trying to make it useful (I was the only one evolving it here before newer Yoshis came).

In all seriousness, where's your videos proving that you've done the work? Talk is cheap, and it's not going to make me believe that you can do it. When you say you've mastered it, I highly doubt it. Why? Because when I hear the words masterful, I see nearly 100% consistency, with deep understanding of when it's useful and not.

I've done two tutorials (one video and other is text)
shown multiple videos of it being used in a match (which you often insulted me on)
explained uses for it in matchups via text
found ways to make it easier to use (controller setups)
found a few extra combos from Grab release using DR on a select few characters
was the first one (to my knowledge) to actually find a way to do DR when Karamity posted a video about it back in 2009

This stuff right here is my life's work. I'm extremely defensive on it considering I've definitely put in the time to find it out either by myself or with others.

Also, you still didn't answer my question as to what snap-reaction is.

Edit: well good stuff on keeping dr. It's not useless, and I knew how to pltform cancel before you guys did. I said "I used dr to cancel the platform on battlefield. (Dr platfrom cancel?) Don't know if their is a name for it. You know what I do Scatz? I go on training mode pratice it everyday. For about 30 minutes. What I do Is train my snap reaction to always be the same tempo. I'd count my tempo, and write it on a pieace of paper. After a mouth and a half I mastered it, but of course in wifi I mess up (Do I really have to say why?) Snap reaction is knowing when to use and know something will happen. I call it that. (Not a word) So when I'm in the game and I grab release my mind knows exactly what to do next. (Dr) My apologizes, but you were sounding like a arrogant man. On how no one has mastered it. I was (no life at that time) now that I do. (Work, college and so on) I can't keep a consist flow with my gameplay with yoshi or others. So 2012 I quit brawl. 2013 I returned, and I'm working on becoming that yoshi people knew. I think people would take you more seriously if you actually backed up your claims. You're always talking about you doing this and that and beating him or her when it just makes you look ridiculous. Everything you ever brag about is WIFI. On top of that they're wifi friendlies since you refuse to do ranked matches with people. So you go around playing wifi friendlies against people who most likely don't even care, and then act like an arrogant kid when you beat them even if they beat you more than you did. Then you get all defensive and call EVERYONE out and start name dropping like crazy. It just makes you look like an idiot. My advice to you is stop always talking about how great you are when you literally haven't ever done anything. Go to a tournament already and start proving us all wrong. As I've said before, talk is cheap. Prove to me that you are what you claim by posting videos. I have evidence, knowledge, and experience to show my skill/understanding of DR. Where's yours?

I call it DR Platform Cancel (DRPC) because Platform Cancel itself can only be done on moving platforms (rainbow cruise, smashville, delfino [i think], & Yoshi's Island). DRPC is done on static platforms, ones that don't move.

Lastly, my comment about no one mastering DR was me being a realist. If there's someone that mastered it, then post videos of them.
