Hey, I've been playing my local metaknight and been doing pretty good against him. However, he's been just doing down air now and I'm can't find a good way around it. Any suggestions?
Depends on how he's Dair camping. If he's at a certain height, you can actually just time it so you can run in and Full Hop Uair him. I hit MKs that Dair camp with Uair all the time. Otherwise, as GYK said, ETS is another good option. What you DO NOT want to do is shield. Then they'll come down and shield pressure/nado, which sucks.

One of the worst scenarios I've had against MK is shielding his Dair out of pressure/automatic response, he Nairs your shield non stop >.>
I like the idea of using Uairs and ETS against his Dair.

If he Nairs your shield, roll away. The Nair will provide enough shield knockback that rolling with it will carry you far away from MK.

Firefly's avatar is very fitting for some Yoshi mains.

Also, why are some people still shocked that I'm retired? I show up to a lock-in for old times sake and ppl thought I was coming back...:ohwell:

Also, @Boomer: Tbh, there's not a straightforward answer to getting around Dair camping with Yoshi's moveset.
Scatzgod never retires, he just goes back up into the sky and watches over his children until the right time arrives.

While that's the ideal thing to do, I almost always get hit while rolling for some dumb reason, in this case at the beginning of the roll.

Every roll is vulnerable at the beginning and end... lol

And rolling is generally a bad option unless youre resetting or you NEED to get away and dont have a better option.

I spotdodge for the most part.

Seriously~
In friendlies, just randomly spam spotdodge over and over and see how many you get away with.

Yoshi's spotdodge is hilariously good <3

Lol, I do that sometimes just for fun in friendlies, or when Im well ahead just to bait stuff out. You be surprised how often you can bait out some punishable move like a Falco fsmash if you spam spot dodge, then throw off your spotdodge timing by holding shield a bit before your spotdodge and such.

I mean, Id never recommend it against really good players or in important matches, but its still funny how often it can work xD

Yeah, or just how long our shield lasts. I've been stuck in it next to snake, they are waiting for the utilt and they always do it to early thinking yoshi's shield will break. It is hardboiled as hell though at that point.

If youre caught shielding in front of a Snake waiting to utilt, first off you shouldnt have been shielding there, but second, I would say just roll back and take the DACUS, its better than dying from utilt.

Unless theres another option im completely forgetting.

You can be a boss and let go of your shield then cancel the animation into a spotdodge to avoid the utilt.

Shift in topic, but I have officially removed the excuse for not being able to do DR, because I can do it now.

So, if you're not using/learning DR, get on that **** right now. My tech skill is awful, no johns.

I think I'm actually going to start picking up Yoshi again... I beat my friend who was the first person that was better than me (and he still is to this day, but on occasion I do win lol) 3 times, then my friend ragequit. I guess he doesn't have enough Yoshi experience, or Yoshi is actually meant for me. XP
Meanwhile, with Ness, I only beat him sometimes. Guess he has more Ness experience lol

Also, this may seem like a silly question, but is Yoshi better in the air or the ground and why? I know Yoshi has great aerial mobility, but I still want to see what y'all think. :p

Depends on the MU, imo. We're more solid defensively on the ground, but we transition from air to ground and ground to air well. Our SH isn't too bad, either. The problem is that we don't have a good aerial to wall with; Bair is multihit with low priority, Nair is only worthwhile for the initial hitbox, Fair has too much startup, Dair and Uair only hit below and above, respectively. Our aerials work well for combos, chains, and juggles, but we tend to lose fighting most good characters head-to-head with them. Our ground game is more solid in that respect. On the flipside, I'd say our ground game doesn't really combo too well, and it's better use is to set up for our aerial chaining/juggling game.

We're back... Though I MUCH preferred the old look. .__.

So I've been playing my friend on wi-fi, and I've been having some trouble getting the KO at times... Any advice?

I'm with you on that, don't like the new look at all. (Though I hardly ever like change in anything anyway :p ) I'm sure some others will like it though.

I'd give you advice myself, but we're probably better off waiting for someone more experienced to come help you out there.

Oh yeah, I'd like others to answer my previous question on Yoshi being in air vs. ground as well. =P

Also some tags aren't working, I was wondering why Slush's sig was so long LOL

I got a notification when my post was quoted and when my post was liked...

Oh geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

I dunno if this will be fixed or not, but there needs to be a distinct break between post and signature. Jake's post confused me. =[
