:yoshi: Ugh, that blows. When are you headed up this way next, by the way?

I might be in Syracuse tomorrow as well.

I have class. =/

Not that I feel too inclined to go, anyways. I was quite disappointed with last year's Apex, and I expect this year to continue that trend. There's too much happening and I feel like the event is only worth it to like, the top 8 or whatever.

High.....School?

Anyways, I"m going back to filming work tomorrow morning. Also, not going to Apex for same reasons as Delta (plus, have no money).

Yeah, it's the later classes where you start to feel it. I had a 19 hour travel day yesterday and didn't get in until 2am, and with my first class at 9:30am, I SHOULD be completely exhausted right now. I'm not, but I have a 2 hour break, a 1 hour class, then a 1 hour break and a 2 hour class, and I'm sure I'm gonna have a hard time staying awake staying up by then...

It helps that my classes are no longer in rooms that are 530892 degrees this quarter, too.

I'm so happy one of my classrooms switched buildings. Holy **** this one building on campus is an oven.

What's the new college peeps sought out degrees? Small world, so we gotta stay in touch! With more than smash.

Also, exciting classes where it was hands on kept my interest. Very little theory classes kept my interest.

Uh, I don't actually know yet, hah. I'm interested in Math and Physics related things, though.

Hmm.
I'd say follow your heart then!
Do what makes you happy and what you feel is your purpose in life!

It's good that you enjoy math and physics though. Both are like, needed in practically everything you want to get into to a degree. =p

FBI agent: Cyber crime specialist

I've always had my heart set on criminal justice. To protect the innocent and condemn the wicked. It may sound harsh, but karma does not exist, and too many times have I seen sleaze screw over genuinely good hardworking people. That is why I want to take a little bit of it into my own hands and make sure that those good hardworking people have a chance to succeed in life!

I made a commitment about a year ago to dedicate my life to training towards that goal, and i'll see it threw to the end. Cyber crime specialist will probably always be needed as well, seeing as how our reliance on the net is growing at such a rapid pace. Supposedly statistics say it should be in high demand by the time I get out of college.

I should mention that i'm still in highschool though.
Last year for me, but the college I'm looking at is giving me a great opportunity to get into Cyber crime investigation.

High school doesn't count. I skipped class for Apex when I was in high school.

Skipping college classes is kinda a different story though.
How was skipping class easier in high school? I had parents and teachers that would've cared if I skipped class during high school, but, unless it was a lab, I constantly skipped class in college.

That's true for run of the mill day-to-day skipping, but in high school, it was much easier to take multiple days off for trips or whatever (like Apex) if your parents were okay with it, because teachers are more likely to help you play catch-up (not to mention how much easier the material is). If you miss a week in college, it's on you to make up the difference, and getting left behind is legitimately threatening if you miss too much material.

For some college classes, missing more than a day screws you over for the rest of the quarter/semester/year.

My parents were pretty cool with me missing class because I always did well in school. My teachers actually didn't care. And the work was super easy to make up anyways.

If I miss a couple days of class here at college, I'll be ****ED for Calculus and Japanese. Not to mention my Sosc class has mandatory attendance, and shaky attendance is marked negatively in Japanese.

Speaking of Japanese, YO WHAT'S WITH THE 21938209832 DIFFERENT COUNTERS MAN?

:yoshi: It's because the language is almost entirely contextual.

You need the different counters to tell a listener or a reader what's going on in terms of the rest of the conversation.
