If it's not too time consuming i'd be willing to give the mentor position a shot. For Bowser of course. Unless anyone else wants to?

Exactly how did this "Smash school" fail if nobody minds my asking, and what precautions have been taken to prevent a repeat of last time?

Its this game made by the creator of Final Fantasy (I think...). There's not that much info beyond screenshots and a few other things but if your interested I'd look at these articles to get a rough idea.

EDIT:

Just thought I'd point it out but Microsoft's E3 was terrible. Here's hoping that Sony and Nintendo do a better job (which shouldn't be to hard).

It's a JRPG made by Mistwalker (Think Lost Odyssey) and Nintendo exclusively for the Wii. We haven't seen much outside of magazine scans and official art so many people - including myself - are eagerly anticipating actual gameplay videos.

@ bowser king

Yes i watched Microsoft's E3 as well. Severely disappointing. I expected at least a few surprises but got nothing i didn't already expect, save for that Codename: Kingdoms project. I very much dislike their whole "shove Kinect down our throats" approach. Nintendo and Sony will do a far better job definitely.

On a side note, EA's conference was pretty decent imo. Not looking forward to anything they showed but Crysis 2 looked pretty good.

Oh yeah, I remember reading about that. Sounds very intriguing.

I debated trying to get tickets to E3 since it's about 30 minutes from my apartment, but I ultimately decided against it.

-Firebreath.

-Get hit by lasers ~40% to minimize CG usage and keep doing that every stock until he catches on. Even if he does, there isn't much he can do because if he wants the grab he'll have to approach you. So, win-win either way.

-It's a grab fest for you until 60% when downthrow becomes useless. It's a grab fest for him all the time. If you get a grab, make sure it hurts. Air release chaingrab, Pivot regrab or Ground release regrab. You could do it to the edge of the stage and then throw him off and handle him accordingly. You could just kill him when he's at kill %'s. Your choice.

-Phantasm? Predict it and hit him with an FTilt or Klaw or UpB or whatever you use.

what else is there...i'm too tired to remember anything else. Falco really isn't that bad imo; there are waaaaaaay more difficult MU's that I personally despise. Well, 2.

Nintendo ***** at E3 today. Nintendo has taken all my money, and they'll do it again.

The 3DS has freaking Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, a crapload of Nintendo games, and...Metal Gear Solid.

I'm sold. The new PSP cannot compete with this marvel.

3DS has all that ****? I haven't been keeping up with E3 and that's my fault but street fighter sold me. MGS as well? OK I'm putting all my money into a 3ds lol.

If you can still play DS games [which it looks like it won't be the case]...actually, can someone answer that? Can we still play DS games?

If so, I'm literally getting a pre-order and everything, and I never pre-order for consoles. ****ING ****. Even if we can't I'm still sold.

Yes, according to the released information, it can play old DS games.

When the original DS was released, the largest game size possible was 128 Megabytes. For the 3DS, the largest game size possible is not 2 gigs. That would explain how they can get Super Street Fighter 4 and Metal Gear Solid 3 to fit.

Whoo hoo!!!

Phantasm I don't have a problem with. It's the grabs and lasers. @_@ And I do know how to avoid them...but I get really impatient for whatever reason and do stupid ****. My biggest problem is remaining calm in the hail of blasterfire. I can gimp him, but that's only when he's off the edge.

I appreciate the grab release advice. I usually do ground release, I haven't tried air yet.

Edit: Also... >_o Lady Gaga? Srsly?

Yes, you can air release CG him to the edge of the stage. It'd be easier because I'm sure most people would just randomly mash buttons to air break, and depending on when/how you pummel you can force an air break so work on that as well.

From what I'm reading, you have a big problem with patience. You have 8 minutes on the clock, it's plenty of time actually. Stay rational even in rains of lasers, just take it easy. Know that in certain situations the tide turns to your favor, and try to place Falco in said situations. Really it falls on the question of how far are you willing to go to win the match. If you can learn how to sit there patiently taking lasers or be patient in getting the moves that will win you the match, you'll be fine.

Well, at least we know Dajayman didn't make the Gaga transition under a clear mind. I'll accept it now...I'm so glad it wasn't a conscious decision lmao.

Mm. I suppose you have a point. He can shoot me full of holes, or actually, let his lasers hit my powershielding...but he has to approach me to actually take a stock. :o Well, she has to approach me I mean. But that's another story.

I'll try to be more calm. Thanks for the help. :o

But...Lady Gaga?

Haters gonna hate.

Also after having many a discussion with one of my best mates in the scene I'm considering attempting to pick up Falco or MK, he views me as a waste of a player in the fact I'm good at he game but my characters holding me back, and when it comes down to it he's right. So I've got some serious thinking ahead of me.

Nah, it's true. If you're good at the game, and you could do so much better (which is the case for quite a few of us guys here) then we all know Bowser is...you know. But it comes to the choice of whether or not you want to continue to use him. I use him because I love him to death and don't exactly care about winning or losing TOO much. I do care quite a bit but using Bowser has softened me up D:

Speaking of which, I also main ROB (probably should start going to the ROB boards a bit -_-) along with Bowser and I've been trying to learn Pikachu out of odd interest. My only concrete characters are Bowser, Falco and Snake...sigh.

Uh, just think long and hard and make sure the decision is right for you. It's not like it's a "once you make it you can't go back" type thing, but you don't want to waste time learning Falco/MK/whoever and learn that it's not really what you want, you know?

oh, and level grinding in Pokemon is sick :L. I have to get my level 22 magmar up to at least 32 before I play Jasmine. wtf. Everyone else in my team (Gatr, Alakazam, Ampharos) are like...35-37. lol and I just caught a Steelix and Golbat who I'm looking to turn into a crobat.

Speaking of which, do any of you guys play Pokemon, whether it be competitively or just for fun?

I'm picking up D3 and watered-down version of Snake (for crawling and shield nades) for the sake of having a capable high tier setup. I'm still playing Bowser in singles, so they'll be limited to doubles and friendlies. I used to have ROB as my "high" tier but it wasn't going anywhere.

Bowser in doubles is so stupid it makes me want to hit people. Outside the game.

I'm okay with going Bowser in doubles surprisingly. I just need an assload of support, aka my teammate being able to keep one opponent off of me.

Double Bowser makes me want to slap my teammate though. Unless he's a Bowser main himself but that's never happened yet, so it always pisses me off.

ROB was the character I mained before Bowser and using him taught me real patience and the meaning of camping, so I never actually dropped him. :]

shiny Metagross avi is pro btw.
