Hi peeps

I have a question

What is Wolf's best punishing move?

Also what is his best move in general?
Depends on the situation, proximity/spacing, and frames. In terms of best punish move I'd say Usmash, but it's the slowest. Fsmash is better for range, but is often laggier.
I have been meaning to ask when it is good for wolf to go offstage and punish? I know never when they are approaching the ledge from below but that is it? I want to get better at punishing offstage
VVVV
Just use something and you'll get a feel for it. Neutral-B, Down-B, and your aerials all do what they do on-stage, except they're harder to avoid.

I like to dair people offstage as if they are hit their screwed and if they air dodge their slightly less screwed as your in the perfect position to edge guard.

Be careful with dair though as it's lag can mean you are edgeguarded instead

I do really stupid/risky stuff to punish recovering opponents so I won't comment on that lol.

@ Tru, try to avoid double-posting please. As for ledge stuff, I do a lot of planking on the ledge to see what my opponent will do, and then either scar if they're being stupid, or ledgejump > shine to get by with invincibility. Standard ledge options (attack etc) aren't bad either. Lightstepping isn't bad but doesn't really leave you with the most available options imo.

My shame is I still haven't mastered lightstepping:sadeyes:. Do you sideB so Wolf hits the ledge with his feet but doesn't snap to it or is it something else? On wifi I mess up and die and neglected mastering it.
My flash canceling sucks too.

Anything offstage with characters other than G&W is very risky when I'm rusty on wifi, lol *blush*

G&W's wifi friendly and generally forgiving.

I went as gangnamstein for halloween, went trick or treating with my niece and nephew and then a lame party. South park has brilliant ideas.

As an interesting side note, my niece went as Cinderella and she kept on losing her "glass slippers" on the stairways.

Also I smell a troll.

For Halloween I ...did nothing and crashed all afternoon. :/

^The facetime ipad idea has sooooo much potential.

'Not sure if you were referring to me. I do need to refine my lightstep and G&W is easy to use (and cheap) on wifi, my only truly wifi friendly character.

Edit: Ish use your mighty mod merge power to combine tru's posts!

hey ish, sometimes if my shield is low some what and I shield the first hit of ftilt the second will connect. what are my options? can I up-b the first hit before the second? or can I spot dodge the second hit then up-b ?

Wolf's ftilt1 is TERRIBLY unsafe on shield. It's -20, and only the very end is disjointed so it's relatively easy to reach Wolf's hurtbox. Pretty sure usmash OoS will work, but if you aren't so confident in your reaction time there's also DB/aerials, and DS if you want to be super guaranteed. Oh, and also shieldgrab if he's facing you.

The second hit has enough cooldown for you to DB, but interrupting between the hits OoS is always superior.

The first hit of Wolf's ftilt on shield is actually -38.

Don't like correcting Ishie, but it's almost double -20. lawl

Oh wait whoops lol. My bad xD I know that it's really freakin' bad and can be easily punished by Yoshi, which is enough for a frame of reference :p

That's why I keep telling people to use ftilt as anti-aerial move. If you use it against an airborne opponent you will either hit him or whiff the move in which case the whole thing about ftilt being so bad on block never actually comes into play. A completely whiffed ftilt doesn't have terrible ending lag so the best use is to use it to cover aerial approaches though you can also overspace it on purpose. As long as you make sure to not use it in a situation where it can be shielded it's a fine move.

Rizen, you know I can read your edits :p

Vacuuming is fun imo. I like to vacuum bugs, much cleaner than squashing them.

I figured it was too cliche :/ . But then again, my jokes are usually too farfetched/dark/inside jokey anyway.
I don't post things I really don't want seen. Mostly edits are to reduce abstract spamming.
How many edits can you read?

Lets see...
Edit 6: There. One of these edits is not like the others; one of these edits just doesn't belong. Can you tell which edit is not like the others... in no designated time frame :/ .

I can see your entire edit history on subforums that I moderate :o but I'm too lazy to look through all six of your edits, so you'll just have to take my word for it xD

I knew some levels of staff could read PMs so that doesn't surprise me.

PS
It was 'Everyday Glory'

Use whatever will punish harder or lead to a KO. But MC P wrecked my Pit hardcore yesterday. I think he can win Waba.

Yeah but some characters like Wario are impossible to hit with dsamsh because of aerial mobility

Also letting them land to hit with the dsmash gives them their 2nd jump back so wouldn't bair be better

No comment @ MRM.

Hi again

I have a question

If my opposition is above me in the helpless state what should I do?

Use a smash, grab or hit em with an aerial?
It always depends on their % and stage position. If they're high enough for fair to kill, go for that. If fair won't kill but they're prone to being juggled due to character/stage/% then go for uair/bair. If neither apply and you want to rack up damage, I usually go for an usmash upon landing. If you would rather get better stage control for a little bit less %, you can walk on the ground a bit to bait them to drift towards the ledge (just as an example), and then do whatever.

Use whatever will punish harder or lead to a KO. But MC P wrecked my Pit hardcore yesterday. I think he can win Waba.

Nah. Although I still hope he kicks butt like he did at WHOBO and think he'll place pretty decently, first is a bit of an exaggeration.
