I'll be there :D pretty sure Seagull will be around too, and he's a big fan of taking group Wofl pictures so we'll probably set one up haha. If I see you I'll be sure to say hi :)

Well it will be cool to meet you Ish, but I don't think you realize how good MC P is, but you will after Waba. Top 5 is definitely in his potential.

I watched his set vs ESAM and it really lowered my opinion of him, not gonna lie :/ but what I saw from WHOBO was stellar, like, really freakin' good stuff. If he plays like that and gets a better grip on the MUs he doesn't fully know (not sure how many there are, but Pika is one of them imo) or doesn't get outclassed in MU knowledge/experience, I think top5 is definitely possible. Also depends on how much Wolf he wants to go.

Hi

I've noticed Wolf has a lot of trouble with DDD, Pika and Wario

Who is a good secondary to combat these MUs

Also what is a good stage for Wolf
G&W has decent MUs with them if you don't want to use a high tier.

YI(Brawl) is generally Wolf's best stage. He does well on Lylat which many characters don't, Halberd and good on most stages besides PS1 and Frigate.

I am working on a pocket Olimar for against DDD and Pikachu. For Wario, I would rather fight with Wolf and try to play smart and campy till I get past CG%.

Good stages for Wolf would be SV, BF, YI(brawl), and Lylat and halberd are ok imo. Wolfs love platforms imo, I know I do.

I honestly don't think either of them were playing the MU too well so it balanced out lol. Like, mad props for beating the best Pika for sure, and MCP still outplayed his opponent for the victory, but that doesn't automatically make him familiar with the MU :/

Megarobman is the best :wolf:. I don't know what you're smoking Hunter, but it must be very good stuff. 2nd best :wolf: would of course be Viviff.

Lylat is one of Wolf's best stages imo, but will take some time to get used to if you're just starting out. Worst stage... many people say Frigate, and I guess I'd agree with that, although it's usually not too bad. Gotta watch out for certain MUs though, and no ledge on the right side of the first transformation is really limiting if you ever get hit off.

I think :wolf: does good everywhere except for Frigate. I think he does amazing on Rainbow Cruise when that's legal and ok on Brinstar.

:wolf:'s best stages vary and are more matchup dependent then anything really. Just you have to ban Fd or Frigate so pick your poison. I'd advise to ban Fd and win R1 over anything...

really? i hate lylat. probably because i think its music is bad and i just dont like the tilty aspect. i like frigate tho. it probably is bad but i think its a cool idea what about delfino or the pokemon stadiums? neutrals?

and do you recommend practicing against cpus at all?

Delfino can be good but you have to beware of other characters' mean tricks like walk off CGs, wall infinites and water spikes. It gives Wolf a great platform layout.

PS1 ledges mess up Wolf's recoveries and ledge game and the size is big for his blaster but helps long range camping.

Most neutrals are good besides FD vs characters like DDD. YI is a great neutral because it maximizes Wolf's sideB options.

CPUs are good to practice techskill but people are better.

Wifi irritates the crap out of me, but a lot of people have gotten very good off of it. Pretty sure Kain is one of them. It definitely helps you get a grasp on MUs and practice thinking ahead/reading your opponent.

Wifi is something you have to get familiar with and accept that it has stupid lag :[ . With good people and a good connection it is better than people give it credit for.

i play it and it seems perfectly fine. i dont think it hinders offline play. only if the lag gets really out of hand it might make habits but other than that its fine. but seriously. who are the wolf mentors?

Is it easy to have good tech skill with wolf? I main mk now and my biggest problems with him are tech skill and reaction time. I practiced with mk for 4 months and my tech skill with him is still not good is wolf easier?

wolfs tech skills are simpler and i dont think you need to be as precise. i dont use mk so i wouldnt know. i still need to learn a lot of wolfs techs so i cant really say. i always thought the higher on the list the easier the character is to learn

If you want a mentor I can help you out, just find me at a NJ tournament sometime. Although I have no idea when that will be lol, since I'm planning on going to WABA and APEX and then whatever else Keitaro is willing to drive me to, but it doesn't look like much is coming up.

Wolf's not exactly "difficult" when it comes to most tech skill imo, but you need to have good execution because he doesn't have a lot of room for error and gets punished pretty badly for his mistakes by most characters that matter.

Tier list position has nothing to do with how easy a character is to learn at a competitive level :x

I should get a spiral binder and put 37 dividers to categorize matchups. Has anyone done this before?

I always worry I'm gonna forget things about matchups that matter.

Thankyou
I can't go to tournaments for many different reasons so I play online.
I usually dont make a lot of mistakes as mk, I just have a very hard time with mk's juggles, combo's, and getting past projectiles.

Sometimes it's a matter of finding a character who fits your style. Try to figure out if you like to be campy, close combat fast/aggressive, play offstage with glides/sharking/wall of pain, hit hard, stage controlling with projectiles/explosives, combo oriented, spacing oriented, etc.
I suggest playing a few games with different characters until you find one you like. Learn techskill offline vs people and/or CPUs; wifi's terrible for learning that.

If you see someone playing Wolf with the tag "Ish", it's me lol. Not too hard, and there are barely any NJ tournies anymore :p

Delfino is Wolfs best stage vs most characters.

Not Ike.
How does Ike do on RC? I feel like we should CP more people there.

He does ok if he plays smart but my friend who mains ike hates RC since his recover is so limited and can be gimped so hard at certain parts if he buffers something wrong or hit into the wrong direction. I don't like RC since it is too campy and people who go there are only trying to win by silly gimps which isn't my style.

Also, @Seagull/Ish the MU thread should probably get an update of some kind since there are a few characters I would like to know more against, like diddy, fox, tl, etc.

Thankyou. I like to focus on baiting mostly, and I also like to go offstage.
I will try using characters that I think are good at these 2 things.

I didn't really secondary anyone. Maybe Ivysaur/PT, but that was mostly for low tiers, and now Jigglypuff sorta because floating around and pissing people off in friendlies is fun. Only ever went Wolf in tournament, and I don't think that's going to change this late in the game.

@ MU Chart stuff: if someone was motivated enough / active enough on the boards I'd just tell them to start a new one, I kinda stopped doing stuff for it since the boards slowed down and focused more on the BBR chart :/

Off-topic, but Romney lost the election, I am so relieved.

Instead of white supremacy being in charge we still have 4 more years of darkyness ahead of us.

Edit: I don't even know why I got a warning for my post. There was nothing insulting about it.

(I'm getting deja vu) G&W and Zelda (for low tiers) have little vulnerability to chain grabs and stuff Wolf is weak to. There's always MK when he's legal. Link has a similar and worse SH, tip-of-attack spacing game, sort of. I use these: http://imageshack.us/a/img51/8383/rizencharacters89122.jpg and am learning Bowser and MK too.

 The media/news/polls didn't reflect the country leaning democratic this much. No surprise.
