I wonder how many Wii's my Target is getting. I just got home from Wal*Mart and they're only getting 20 Wii's and my Super Wal*Mart is getting 30. I'm already seeing tents outside of Circuit City. My Wal*Mart opens at 7:00 AM tomorrow so I might just leave around 2:00 AM and spend the rest of the night there.

Feeling disappointed, I decided to check out how many people were waiting in line at Target. There were about 10 people. Mind you, it's friggin' 40 degrees out at the moment, and it's gonna get colder. I'm going to Target around 4am tomorrow. If there's a line, I'll check the other Target. If there's still a line, I'll check out Circuit City (there are 2 people there at the moment.) If I still can't get one, I'm just going to be patient and wait until next weekend..
Hun, don't even talk to me about "friggin 40 degrees," mkay? I'm about to wait for six hours in blustery below-zero temperatures. I think you can manage.

EDIT: Also, apparently my Fred Meyer is awesome, cause they're getting 74 units.

I'm going to bed now. I'll head out around 2:30 (8:21 now).

Btw, I am going to keep a journal and write about me being there, since I have nothing else to do. And because I haven't written anything is ****ing ages. Look for it.

midnight(est) is here , and so is the launch, happy Wii launch people.

The console wars have finally begun

(although I'm watching a live feed and Reggie did not hand out the first Wii yet, but still Happy Will launch)

And also for anyone who saw the ps3 launch, the Wii launch is better so far. The DJ is not swearing at the crowd to move into lines, no fights, no shootings, no robberies, and not as tense as the ps3 launch. (also the Toys R' us has 1,000 Wii's, that's probably more than the state of New York got in Ps3's)

MAJOR EDIT: My Wii numbers were wrong, the Toys R' Us in Times square has 5,000 units!!!!

edit number 2: I just found out the gamespot" live "coverage is not live:cry:

It is my honor to welcome the Nintendo Wii to the world,as it is born at the moment.I hope that the rest of you pick this up asap in time for 2007 release of the game that will probably ruin our lives for a 3rd time  ,Super Smash Bros Brawl. My heart just stop briefly after saying them words. Its just hard to believe how fast time flys ya know? I swear it seems like 2 weeks ago when we were watching all them devolpers/people at E3 talking crazy of the Wii,and the % of people that found it the most interseting(was it like 55%?I know it was more than MS and Sony). Now,the **** system is right in out faces  .I wish you the best of Nintendo,as I will always stand by your side(right along with Sony's)reguardless of what happens in the future.Good Luck fellas.

Just got back home, it's 10:30 PM here, and there's only about 3 people camping out at Wal-Mart, there friends are just there to keep them company till 11 (Asked) them :p) and other than that, no one is camping out anywhere. So I'm pretty safe, I'm just gonna head out there at about 6:00 AM and make a little route and see which place has the smallest lineup/no line up and buy it there.

Well, as stupid as the Rexburg Wal Mart system was, I have returned successful. The Buzz Saw now owns a Nintendo Wii. ^_^

Well, things didn't pan out for me, no sir.

There was a convenient Beethoven's 9th Smphony concert tonight that practically all of my friends were in, so we didn't get to Wal Mart until 11:30.

Whether or not showing up a couple hours earlier would've made a difference...I don't know.

But that was a HUGE and complete waste of time.

I've got Yoshi's island DS, but...it just isn't exciting me.
Which is very sad.

SO who here has actually played at a kiosk yet besides me? Just curious how many people have actually experienced the Wiimote and love it, and how many are blindly going with the herd and assuming since other people liked it they'll like it too?

That's a harsh way to put it, but i'm a firm believer in experiencing something before passing judgment.
Maybe it's nto such a good thing but I never play demos before buying stuff. I just don't feel like I can get an accurate "feel" of the product in the short time I hae with it.

Speaking of demos... does Nintendo realize the're releasing a console? I was in Wal-Mart the other day and a crowd of people are standing around the PS3 kiosk, marveling at it's glossy coating and shiny lights. I look over at the Wii section and there is no kisoks. Infact, besides the sign that let's you know this is Wii section the only other thing that let's you know the system exist is a poster TAPED to the wall.

'What the heck is a 'why'?' one kid says before joining the PS3 mob. One women looking at the PS3 says 'It's so big. It should be smaller.' I almost want to smack my head. Nintendo this is the time to say 'No PS3? Here's an alternative.' Not, 'No PS3? Wait until more are available.' Show your 'market' you product. Show them it's fun, small, whatever. Just do something.

The PS3 has it's own display case detaling it's features. The Wii has a poster taped to the wall. Problem?

ender, Natomas is to far for me to go for a console. I'll be stickin around home.

Yea, the Wal-Mart we went to is so...out in the middle of nowhere...
That they didn't even have a display set up for the Wii at all.

I can't believe I let myself get all hyped up for Zelda for the past two weeks all to not be able to get a Wii...I'm seriously annoyed, because nothing has been going right for the past while, and I REALLY could've used this to get my mind off of things during break...

I've had the money saved up for months, too.
So I feel kind of jipped somehow.

If you check out Gamefaqs, their poll is saying that 68% of people aren't planning on getting a Wii now.

I think that means "now" as in "right now" because you can't.

Seems that thought Nintendo's numbers were higher than Sony's, they still aren't near enough right now.

Bahumut, I'll add you. I think we should probably make a Wii numbers thread...I guess I'll do that.

And by the way...the Wii is butt-secks. I played it with about 7 friends of mine for about 2 hours..it's great.

[Edit:]

Mods/people of power, feel free to take down my Wii numbers thread if it is done wrong or you people desire it or etc etc.

I got in line six hours before midnight and I was (barely) the first one in line. I finally got it. It's basically amazing. The control is great, and the interface is super intuitive. And I'm SO glad that each system has a code, as opposed to each game.

5:30 AM right now. Wal-Mart opens at 8 along with Great Canadian Superstore, so I'll check out both those places. If no luck there, Zellers opens at 9 along with Future shop, if no luck there, I'm off to EB games for 11:00 AM. Teehee.

Good luck everyone.

4 hour wait, #31 in line.
Snagged it.
The Wiiseeker thing was accurate to the unit. Go by it.
Some guy drove by with one early on in his car, honking and waving.
It was amazing.
See y'all in about a year.
They even included batteries. Extremely classy.

I left at midnight.

I SPENT 7 1/2 HOURS IN THE ****ING COLD

THE BLANKETS DO NOTHING

But I got one, and Zelda. The lady ringing me up couldn't add, however, and thought I had $345, while I needed $378 (Wii, Zelda, Red Steel). But when I said to take Red Steel out, she gave me $60 back. And the thing said it cost $324. So, I'm going back in a few to pick it up. I haven't opened it yet.

I would have gotten one at Target this morning if four guys hadn't cut us in line. My brother and I got there at 4 AM, the four guys came at like 6:30, and they handed out tickets at seven. Then the employees, after a few other people and I told them they cut, gave them tickets anyway. But what I was more mad about was how Target didn't do one per household like every other store, instead they did one per customer, and one family of six walked out with one each, even the eight-year-old looking kids.

No, but I'm calling every store I can think of. Not to mention, I hang out with only one person who picked one up, or I'm assuming, because he'd preordered. I still have to go pick up my preordered Zelda at EB AND THEN NOT PLAY IT!!! AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH!!!!
