yeah I think I should just get drunk every day and play smash and not give a ****

woohooo
I'll bring stuff tomorrow if you actually wanna...after that miserable failure of a date I personally wanna get trashed tomorrow night. Sooo...are we gonna be at Mundungu's or Exarch's?

Who's Matt? I do not think I have ever met him before.
Oh Xeylode... it's so easy to tell which smashers have facebook and which don't, considering you don't know peoples' real names and I don't know yours LOL

The easiest to remember is Thomas. "Thomas' short voicemail message" rings in my ears sometimes.

Well, its sanchaz, you, and me so far that would like to go from campus, but need pick-ups (like it has to be said anymore lol).

I need a heads up on what the heck is going on since it takes me like 15 minutes to walk from lakeshore all the way to culver's place.

Yeah, yesterday's smashfest was great. Good way to end it for the year since I won't be playing anyone for a long time. I will start a secret training program over break to catch-up >)

Dear WI, some homework.

singles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90ujc0flqSU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXYCPWBtoXo
What you are watching for:
Glaring weaknesses/patterns in the CAN player's recovery (moreso vs Sheik) and defenses. At least I noticed the recovery patterns more in sheik set than against fox... because by the time I was watching the dittoes I was too absorbed in the terrible defenses that were going unpunished that I had a hard time watching for anything else.

doubles:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH3r18uRoxA
What to watch for:
To learn how to play teams. Note how the team who wins the first set does so exclusively because of better teamwork. Watch for examples of good team work and bad team work.
Good teamwork consists of abandoning your current involvement to help a teammate recover when it is necessary. Good teamwork is finishing your teammates combos by landing another blow after he has finished his combo.
Bad teamwork is not doing those things (obviously,) or trying to finish your teammates combos either before he is done or without trying to space your extra hits properly (and thus getting hit or hitting him yourself.)
That means to be a good teammate, you have to know your partner's character almost as well as you know your own.

I think as a state we're not very far behind most other states (excluding outlier top echelon players) in singles, but in teams overall we're waaayyy behind where we should be. For being pretty good at singles, we should be better in teams.

I think teammates need to talk more. If i'm getting repeatedly edgeguarded as falcon I should tell my partner to come over and help, but mostly we just quietly get edgeguarded for 10 seconds and die, then complain that we got no help.
Teammates also need to be useful for option selects. If I'm pillaring a fox I don't want sync to come over and try to pillar the fox while I am. I want him to space himself to be ready if they di the shine away. Same with techs. Knowing that some options are covered lets me use stronger moves that cover less options. I think knowing what options your partner will take away really only comes from teaming for a while with the same person.

Yes! We are each others' mortal enemies! Most technical fox in wi -VS- most technical falco in wi! EPIC! Although in Sync's defense he's not really evil, just misled and misunderstood...

Dear WI, some homework.
Well I'm done with school...aka I've been analyzing vids forever. Only constant vigilance aka playing will help me at this point...

Although you could say for homework I went and put money down on an apartment that will be perfect for hosting Milwaukee smash fests, housing people during tournies, and practicing my *** off with Quaz. :D 99% likelihood of us moving in January 2nd.

Awesome, great news sync! We should smash at your place before smashing grounds next month.

Exarch, you did leave your hat here, I guess I'll get it to you next year sometime.

Our matches should be titled Thumb Wars because we push so many buttons. Nice that you're moving in with quaz, hopefully he won't tell you how to beat me.

Only 1 final left =)

also helps to tell your partner what way you'd like them to throw if they get a grab, and you can help combo off it.

you gotta know how your partner plays really well, you want to help him combo if he's in control, but you don't wanna prematurely try to help and screw it up either, you gotta see how he plans to end his combo, and then get another hit in after it...

also like you said, just covering one of the tech options, like them rolling away helps a TON especially if your a spacey and can just shine him up again, it's hardly any commitment to helping out your partner, so then you can go back to focusing on the other guy.

me an heath team combo pretty well, we used to just go practice 2v1 combo's on comps, and even ppl who were willing to play 2v1's for a little while..

also i think people need to think about risk rewards, when thinking about going OFF stage to help a partner out.. Heaths came off stage to shine me with falco for some sick team saves, but i've also seen it back fire quite a bit.. and it really sucks if he's at like 10% and gets gimped tryin to help out.. unless your stupid gay jiggly puff and can fly off map for 10 minutes before safely coming back.
